I had an awful experience at autonation this morning.

I had an awful experience at autonation this morning. I told the salesman that I was going to do a pre-purchase inspection on his 4runner, and begged him to just be honest with me about the condition of the vehicle before I came in, so that I didn't waste time and money getting it inspected if it was in bad shape. He assured me that it was in good shape, that they had inspected it, 25-point inspection, blah blah blah. Well, I brought it to a mechanic, and it was in such bad shape that after 5 minutes he discovered so many problems that he didn't even bother putting it up on a lift, and told me definitely not to buy it. Didn't even charge me. The problems he pointed out to me were so obvious that there was no way the dealer didn't know about them. Now, I'm not stupid enough to trust used car salesmen, but why would he knowingly waste my time when he knew that I would find out that the car was a lemon? Why not just tell me before I wasted an entire morning that this car wasn't for me? Or tell me what was wrong with it and let me decide if I could live with the problems? I will never go to that dealer again, and will tell my friends not to either. What kind of person knowingly and without guilt or conscious would waste someones time and money like this, or even worse, sell someone a car in this bad shape while claiming that it was fine? A sociopath, that is who.

The place couldn't be worse.

The place couldn't be worse. Had my car for two full days and still couldn't even give us a diagnosis. Wasn't even asking to get it fixed- just find out what was wrong. I don't think they even looked at it once.
