Gregory Hyundai has earned their shady reputation.

Gregory Hyundai has earned their shady reputation. I tried giving them a chance and regretted it. I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a used Toyota Tacoma from Gregory Hyundai. I wanted it because it seemed to be in pretty good condition and it had low mileage, and to make my fiancée happy. I did some research into comparable Tacomas and the price seemed a bit high. I managed to negotiate it down a bit by about $300, but the salesman assured me that dealerships are “putting their best foot forward” in their prices and that they couldn’t go any lower. Well, after purchasing the truck I decided to take it in for service at a certified Toyota dealer where they appraised the truck for about $6000 less than what we paid for it. The Gregory Hyundai dealer had also assured me that their prices “are set by AI”, as if that is supposed to mean anything. Don’t be fooled by that line, it’s a gimmick to trick people who don’t know any better. To make matters worse, just a week after the purchase, I discovered that the axle boot needed repair. This is something any reputable dealer would have fixed before selling the vehicle or, at the very least, disclosed to the buyer. But not Gregory Hyundai. They chose to hide this critical information, leaving me with an unexpected and very expensive repair job right off the bat. The lack of transparency and honesty is appalling. It’s clear that Gregory Hyundai is only interested in their bottom line, with zero regard for their customers’ satisfaction or safety. If you're considering buying a car from this dealership, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. There are plenty of honest dealers out there – Gregory Hyundai is not one of them. Save your time, money, and peace of mind by steering clear of this place. Congratulations on scamming me, guys. Hope it was worth it. Oh, and I had ChatGPT help me write this review since I know you guys like AI so much. Update: Two major red flags: (1) Now they are starting a fight with me on Google reviews and telling just that I am wrong. Also all the service is a plus, but that is to be expected when selling a car. It is not a bonus. Plus I was given a copy of the service history and no oil change was done. (2) They are publicly advertising what we paid for the vehicle, which should be kept private. This is very unprofessional. If you had reached out to me privately, I would have been willing to change or take down my review.

This is the worst service department at a dealership I’ve

This is the worst service department at a dealership I’ve ever experienced. Nothing gets done on time and their records and systems are horrible.

Hang out there while your car is being serviced.

Hang out there while your car is being serviced. You will witness xx flowing like a sweet river, but beware my child; there are mighty turds in that river. You will have to eat them and thank the staff for the privilege. It's a police station, and you are the suspect: We'll ask the questions! In short, they didn't want to take the time to diagnose my car's problem and shuffled me out. I brought this to the attention of the owner who had a fella reach out and see if we could try again. We made an arrangement for the next week, but the problem got worse. When I asked if I could get it in sooner, the fella got mad and unleashed a string of text abuse. Toxic place. Avoid!

I wanted to help customers!

I wanted to help customers! To go this dealer if you want happy, satisfied and transparent pricing. They are bunch of liars. Don't deal with Grant Gaither and Tony.. both of them are liars and will promise something but they can't give you. Go to Libertyville Hyundai, napleton or Patrick Hyundai, this dealer is bunch of clown with full of liars!

This dealer is a bunch of liars.

This dealer is a bunch of liars. Don't ever deal with Grant Gaither or this dealer if you want to be happy and satisfied on what you buy. He promised to match the price from Patrick Hyundai but after signature and documentation, nothing was given. No discount or price match was followed. No wonder there were few customers complaining when I got there. I should known that before i purchased a car there. His Manager Tony was also a liar and can not keep his word. Definitely , I will not go back in this dealer again. I dont recommend this dealer. Better you go to Libertyville Hyundai or at Patrick Hyundai. They will keep the price based on their words and price quote. They also have better discount with good customer service. They are very transparent on documentation before you sign in which they will explained it to you the total price, discounts and extra fees from taxes to the packages. Where in Gregory Hyundai, no transparency and full of lies. Watch out and don't fall into their traps. Grant will say bad stuff that about Libertyville Hyundai that will charge you bunch of stuff afterward. That's not true, I experienced it the other way around. I dont know how they keep Gregory Hyundai reviews but my experienced was really horrible on this dealer. I should rate them negative for lying!

Go else where

Couldn't clean or repair the car they were selling even though it was already reporting on the carfax as being fixed. They offered $12k trade in on a car they sell. Should have been between $14-16k. Embarrassing. Dealers currently selling for $19k+. Making money is one thing, gouging is another.

First time car buying experience was great with Niko and

First time car buying experience was great with Niko and Greg. Very upfront with add ons and pricing, incentives, and promotions. Overall incredibly smooth process and didn’t resemble anything close to some of the nightmarish car buying experiences I’ve heard about from other people.

It's disheartening that you guys can't transfer cars

It's disheartening that you guys can't transfer cars between CarMax or cars.com locations, in lieu have a guy deliver and pick up his new vehicle 2900 miles away... It's a hassle..I would like to see hassle free buying in lieu of paying for the transfer or driving the extreme amount of miles..
