Amazing customer service in service department

Bought my vehicle from Golden, CO Carmax and didn't have any support for mechanical issues. Still purchased the vehicle because it is what I wanted. Ashley from sales in Golden was the worst! I ended up closing the deal with Cora who was amazing and clearly the exception to the rule in Golden. When I told Ashley there were issues with the brakes she was rude and didn't take me seriously. I ended up working with the Federal Heights dealership on repairs. Debbie in the service department took this on and was soooo amazing! She took care of everything and I am so greatful! The technican at this location was amazing as well (I forget his name unfortunately)! It is really a shame that I had to go to another location to get service, but I am so glad that I did. Outstanding job Federal Heights location!

Beware

Worst experience ever! I purchased a Mercedes GLA from this location less than a month ago and learned that they sold me a car with a nail in the tire ! I asked them to take care of the low tire pressure notification during the test drive and was told that they would make sure it was good before we purchased the car; however, Carmax’s idea of “good” was just filling the tire with air and leaving a nail in the sidewall! We could’ve been killed on the way back home to Colorado Springs because of their negligence and all the Sales Manager, Ian, could tell me is that Carmax won’t cover the $350 tire! Beware!

Great Place to buy a car

I was in need of a new car . The one i had was bought in 2005 but the year of the car is 2001. I wanted something a bit newer and affordable. I didn't catch the guy's name since my dad was the one who dealt with him first. No pressure at all. He was very helpful. I test drove the car and loved how it drove along with it's a big upgrade to what i had. So decided to buy it. I bought a 2012 Infiniti G25x, leather seats, AWD. front seat heaters, sun roof, backup camera, defrost on the side mirrors and it's a V6. I love it. I highly recommend buying a car here.

Under No Circumstance

Drove an Audi. Really liked it. Looked underneath and it was literally dripping oil. Looked at its parking spot and it was an oil slick. The salesman said he'd take it off the lot and have it looked at/fixed. Clearly all vehicles are NOT inspected by professional mechanics. Drove by a week later and there it was, still dripping oil, still for sale. Im not sure how this company exists.

Overpriced Wall mart of car dealerships

Briefly tried to buy a car from Carmax. When we told the salesperson we wanted the car they said it sold. A week later it popped up again online. The salesperson was oblivious. They stated the car was sold but then returned because of the price, duh? Our insurance was replacing the car for us and instructed us the car was $3000-4000 overpriced. It was $5000 over KKB value as well. Actually all of their cars are overpriced after research. Their no haggling is BS and doesn't equate to a fair price. Do your research. Carmax is basically a big box store for cars with tremendous overhead and kids for salespeople.

Don’t buy here

My car has been in the shop every 6 months since I got it. It was under dealer warranty. Now that the dealer warranty is gone car max will not answer the phone or return messages. They push the extended warranty but obviously never plan to honor it.

Cannot even reach service department

I have tried multiple times on several different occasions to reach the service department for repairs and can only leave messages which go unanswered every time. You can reach the sales department if course but then are transferred back to the service dept voicemail. I had a good car buying experience but it ended there. I was given a broken key fob as my extra set on the day I purchased my vehicle and was told I would need to get with the service department to replace it! The first key fob completely stopped working after a new battery was replaced by them at the only service appointment I was able to make. The salesman and my vehicle were the only positive experience I have had. I stopped trying to schedule any sort of services with them and now use Auto Nation where everything is fast, convenient, and guaranteed.

Worst car buying experience I've ever had

TL;DR: CarMax sold me a lemon, it's been over two weeks and they still haven't fixed it. The customer service experience has been rotten, and I regret buying from CarMax. A few years back I sold my GTI to a CarMax in LA and had a really good experience. I recently moved to Denver and decided to update to something with all wheel drive, so I thought I'd try buying from a CarMax. I found a 2012 Audi Q5 that I really liked, and the entire sales process was really smooth. My sales rep Joe was great and a pleasure to work with, but it's been a total hassle dealing with them ever since. The day after I drove the Q5 home (I bought it Tuesday, September 4) I got flashing warning lights on the dash. I called CarMax and they apologized and set me up with an appointment to get it fixed. I took the Q5 in the next week (Weds, Sep 12) and they identified a couple faulty sensors that needed to be replaced. The catch was they weren't available to service the vehicle for two more weeks (they gave me an appointment on Mon Sep 24). When I asked if I could take it to another shop to get it serviced sooner, I got a flat no. A faulty sensor sounds like nbd, but it was causing the Q5 to lurch unpredictably when accelerating, so I didn't feel like it was safe to drive. Instead of stepping up to the plate and fixing this lemon they just sold me a week ago, they've now had my vehicle for going on a week, and as of today (Weds, Sep 19) I haven't had any word from them. This has really taken all the fun out of getting a new ride. I regret going with CarMax and will never buy a car from them again.
