My Sales Experience

I was in the market for a new 2023 Ford Bronco Sport. Either a Heritage Limited or a fully loaded Badlands. I saw both a Badlands and Heritage Limited on Encinitas Ford's website so I called and inquired about them. The salesperson showed me the Heritage Limited which was advertised on their website at full sticker. When I told him I would buy it - the price was suddenly full sticker plus $10k for market value adjustment which is another term for gouging your customer in my opinion. The next day the salesperson texted me and said he had a fully loaded Area 51 color Badlands with a moonroof that just arrived. I told him I would take it at full sticker. He texted me that it was mine. He then had me text my driver's license and insurance card info so he could start the paperwork. He set an appointment for 4:00pm for me to come in to sign the paperwork and pick up my new car. Later in the day he texted me that that car was no longer available but he had something else in mind for me. At that point I realized that this type of shell game / bait and switch sales tactics seemed to be designed to try and get me emotionally involved in the sales process so I would either pay more than sticker or settle for something less than what I wanted. A few days later I was able to buy the same Heritage Limited Bronco from Aaron Ford in Poway at $2k under sticker or $12k less than what Encinitas Ford wanted to charge.

Very disappointed with service department.

Very disappointed with service department. Took my car in for diagnosis. Kept my car for four days. Could not find issue. Had to make another appointment. Brought my car back in. To address “sputtering” kept car for five days to see transmission specialist. Initially, Found nothing wrong With transmission and suggested “fixing broken motor mount“ assured 75% resolution of issue. Approved to have this work done and after work was finished then was notified that “yes there is some transmission issue? Now they’re recommending a new transmission for almost $5000. After completing the work, that did not resolve initial issue. Was assured that rental car would be taken care of? Now they say if they’re taking the labor cost down to address rental car payment? I don’t know what exactly is going on, but I do not trust the information given will not using Encinitas Ford again.

I spoke with the general manager Scott.

I spoke with the general manager Scott. And he was quite helpful. He attempted to resolve and explain costs, and. Work done to my vehicle. I honestly must say he restored “some” of my confidence I have at Encinitas Ford.“

Smooth Purchase

The best and easiest purchase experience I've ever had. Kevin Sale was friendly, helpful, with excellent communication throughout my whole purchase. Jeff and the rest of the Encinitas staff were A+ as well.

Service department Unethical, no integrity etc.

Where is the Integrity of this dealership? What happened to "treating every customer like they are the ONLY customer because we (you Encinitas Ford) would want to be treated" Or your slogan "We don't sell, we satisfy". My trucks been in the service department for over 30 days, It is clear and evident that Encinitas Ford has a lack of strategic clarity, unjust accountability system, poor organizational governance, and weak cross-functional collaboration. I came in today for clarification on our issue and unfortunately all you did was give me clarity on the fact that Encinitas Ford is only misleading on information and then are quick to "fire the customer" versus be honest and resolve the problem itself. Even the other Ford dealer I moved my truck too is dismayed about the unethical behavior displayed at encinitas ford. This Service department is awful and no resolutions. I pulled my vehicle out and took it a different Ford dealer. Will never give or suggest this dealer for purchase or service. Truly sad they can't even be honest about the mileage. Also cleared codes without fixing anything, had vehicle for over 30 days then came forward and admitted to failing us as customers and admitted to lying about service productivity Luckily I have pictures and documentation. Would give zero stars if able. Beware of their shady shenanigans! Sad since I've been loyal Customer for years.
