I made an appointment one month ago so that the Merced CA
I made an appointment one month ago so that the Merced CA VW repair shop could look at a warning light on my dashboard. When I arrived, I was asked did I want to wait, or leave and come back later? About one hour later, I returned and no one had looked at my car. I asked if I should continue to wait. I was then told a mechanic had recently quit and they could not guarantee they would be able to look at my car today. So I made another appointment for one month later. Today when I showed up I was told the dealership was having computer problems and there was no guarantee anyone would be able to look at my car today. I rearranged my schedule for both appointments. If you make an appointment with the Merced VW repair shop, it means virtually nothing. If a customer makes an appointment and the repair shop cannot do the work on the time and date specified, then the customer should be contacted so that the customer’s time is not wasted.

Contract errors, not twice but 3 times,
I agree with dchew's review. I too have two contracts with multiple changes to them. The second was to change the tax rate, and to correct the monthly lease price on my 2014 jetta. Shame on me, I just took them for their word and tonight upon closer review notice that the second revised contract has removed a $995 service contract and increased a "rent fee" by that amount. It has been 15 days today and they have not yet paid off my trade in. When I phoned to inquire was just brushed off by "don't you worry about that". Well last time I checked, I was a customer...and my financial responsibilities are my worries, not theirs to brush off. They have called for yet a third contract to be signed...and my trade in will not be paid off until I come in to sign this contract. I feel they have been less than honest, and negligent in upholding their end of our agreement. I will never again be doing business with Merced VW and I do not recommend them to anyone who is looking to purchase a vehicle.

They scam you from changing the price of the vehicle when asked on sales lot from when you enter into salesroom, due to the high pressure sales tactics of Robert Brummel. I did not notice on the contract the price difference change went up $2,000. I had been there for 4 hours. Warning to potential buyers, skip this place and keep driving. Horrific experience, I purchased a vehicle for 17K and it only worked for 2,300 Miles, now it needs a transmission for $3,000. I talked to Gilbert Hernandez and Robert Brummel salesman and Manager to help me out, I asked to pay the difference on a different car, or pay for part of the transmission as I felt a car working for 2,300 miles is unacceptable. The synopsis of their reply when I asked for some help is money has changed hands we don’t care. Please learn from my miserable experience at Merced VW/ Kia and spend your money else ware. Save yourself the misery of dealing with the lack of business ethics of this company.

Sadly this dealership has a Quality Control issue.. PDi & subsequent warranty work left a lot to be desired.. Plenty of xx & Smiles but that does NOT get the job done..Drive Past, much better deals just up the road.. 6 or more visits to the service department in the first couple of weeks..workmanship OMG. The vehicle was eventually taken to CentralValley Volkswagen, I was given a rental. Thereafter C/Valley has been my service destination....................its the place to go' MercedVolkswagen you are a serious letdown to VW............

I tried to make a deal with this dealership. I spoke with a sales person and was quoted a price. I then spoke with the general manager and got a better price. I was given a written quote by the sales person and a verbal quote by the general manager. After agreeing to a price with the general manager. The salesman called me within an hour and backed out of the deal. He stated the owner of the business told him to do so because he didn't like the general manager's offer. A whole half a day wasted and two hours driving. There are better car dealerships out there that won't waste your time and back out of deals.
