Not your average dealership!
I saw a car I'd been looking for pop up on my e-mail from cars.com. I contacted the dealership and made an appt for a few days later. On the day I was supposed to visit the dealership, the salesman I'd been corresponding with e-mailed me that the car was no longer available and asked if I'd still like to come in and see what other cars they had. Since I was only looking for one particular used car and they didn't have another one, I declined. Then, the next afternoon, he e-mailed me that the financing had fallen through for the car I was interested in and it was back up for sale. I knew what I needed to get for my trade-in, I knew the monthly payments I could afford, and I knew what a fair price on the vehicle was since I'd been shopping. around for a few months and knew what others were paying for this car. I was in and out --- with a "new" used car in less than 2 hours, with all my needs met. Everyone was courteous and helpful. I would recommend this dealership. They are small (the one in Herndon) and very attentive and fair.

We recently traded in our car for something more suitable for our family. Javan Jackson was the sales representative who helped us find the right car and also found us the best deal possible. His knowledge about Volkswagens is exceptional. He doesnt put you under pressure and actually listens to what your looking for and can afford within your means. Great and comfortable experience. Mike Sepulveda is the BEST!
Working with Mike Sepulveda is nothing but a pleasure. He ALWAYS strives to give the best experience to his customers that he can and makes you feel that you are a friend and not just a customer. Last November when buying my Jetta from him, he was never pushy, always knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. I have since moved to California and when I had a very very minor problem (most sales personnel would consider nothing to worry about) Mike Sepulveda went above and beyond to fix the problem. In all I would absolutely recommend anyone to Mike!

Outstanding service by Mike Sepulveda!
On Saturday, August 16th, 2014, I became the proud owner of a 2006 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible thanks to the kindhearted and extraordinarily helpful salesmanship of Mike Sepulveda. Not only was Mike extremely knowledgeable about the car itself - to the point where he was able to answer any and all questions that my father and I could think to ask, Mike made the process of buying a car very approachable. Stephan was great!
I've been meaning to write Stephan a great review for some time now - I've had my car for about 3.5 months and still love it and think I made the best purchase. Stephen did a great job comparing the Subaru Forester (2.5i Premium with AWP) to the other cars I was looking at (RAV4, CRV, and CX-5) and helped make my decision easier. He was very easy to work with and got me exactly what I was looking for! When it is time for my brother to buy a car, we will certainly be back!

Non-pushy, straightforward, fair, and customer focused!
Just purchased a 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Limited from Stohlmans and had the pleasure of working with David. I found some great potential auto loan interest rates through USAA this month and also utilized TrueCars.com to get quotes for my "ideal" vehicle (trims + desire accessories. I was also contacted by a list of area dealers and was harassed by a dealership in Manassas. Of course they wanted me to visit their lots without working our preliminary pricing online...Stohlman's was different - they honored my TrueCar certificate off the bat and David contacted me after I submitted my request with a very straightforward, respectful and fair price quote! He was not pushy and made sure to express that he wanted a chance to "earn" my business if I thought his initial offer was reasonable and fair. I decided to visit Stohlman's in person and worked with David. The original car I wanted was sold before I could claim it, however, I expressed to David that I wanted the exact same Crosstrek (same color/features/etc.) for the same price he quoted me. Rather than badger me into buying another car already on the lot (dealers generally have an incentive to move vehicles sitting on their lots first already), David was willing to find the exact Crosstrek I wanted elsewhere and had it delivered at no extra cost, for the price we negotiated. Throughout the entire deal process, he was never pushy, getting me to buy more/less car than what I researched and wanted. He obviously wanted to work with me so I would buy from Stohlman's (of course, it's their business!), but he wanted to earn my business and for me to buy from them. Yes, all dealers will find at least a little profit in all sales whether on purchase pricing, trade-in, financing, or "extras" - it's business! They wouldn't stay in business if they didn't have profits. I found that as the customer and consumer, I was able to find the best net prices and savings at Stohlman's compared to other area Subaru dealers. If anyone wants to save some money, you must be willing to negotiate! I had to with everyone involved in my deal. The entire process was civil, respectful and in the end, we settled on a realistic, fair price for this popular selling vehicle. We live in a pricy region. What sealed the deal for me was David's awesome, friendly demeanor and professionalism. This is the 4th car sales process I've been through - honestly, this one has been the best in terms of overall experience and fair pricing. David emailed, called and even left a voice message the next day after my purchase to check up on me and the vehicle. None of my other car sales dealers called to "check up" in the past - they had my money and I drove off the lot. To them, the deal was done! With David, however, the deal doesn't "end" after you officially sign your finances and paperwork over, get the keys and drive away - he seems to care about his customers and his reputation before, during and after the sale. I would not spend this time to share my own story if I weren't so incredibly impressed with how calm, smooth and fair my car buying experience at Stohlman's Subaru was with David, without the need for pressure tactics. This is the way car negotiations and buying should be!

Great car buying experience!
Nora is the man! He made my first ever car buying experience so easy. It seemed that everyone who worked there was friendly and willing to help. My mom was helping me car shop and when we got to Stolhman her car wouldn't start (some issue with the battery) and luckily Nora is a mechanic as well! He went out and fixed the problem with the battery (something with one of the terminals) and also cleaned off all the corrosion on the battery. I would definitely recommend going to Stohlman and working with Nora.

Didn't Honor Price Quote, Low Quality Salesman
I contacted Stohlman to receive a quote on a used 2012 Subaru Impreza. The quote I received via e-mail from Nora Sokhon was $13,795. I then scheduled a test-drive for 5 days after receiving the initial e-mail. When I arrived to Stohlman Auto exactly at the agreed upon time, I waited 30 min for Nora to greet me and then, after test-driving the vehicle, was told the price was $17,795 (a $4,000 difference). I told Nora that he had quoted me $13,795, showed him the e-mail and there was a note in their computer system indicating that I was quoted $13,795 for the car. After reviewing this information and speaking with Pierre (the supervisor), Nora told me there was a computer error and they couldn't honor that price. After waiting another 20-30 minutes for the sales team to "discuss what kind of deal they could offer me" I was told the best they could do was $15,500. I told them this was unacceptable and they should honor the price quote given via e-mail by a salesman and they responded by saying they weren't liable for computer errors and told me to read the fine print saying the price can change at any time. It is my impression that they used a low price to bait me into the store then gave a fake excuse to change the price after the test-drive. Not only this, but Nora was completely useless as a salesman. I mentioned several times I was also interested in looking at a similar car they had on the lot and he didn't even attempt to help me. During the test-drive he sat in the back seat, muttered directions and wasn't very knowledgeable about the vehicle. For example, he didn't know there was a sub-woofer installed in the back of the car until I asked if it could be removed to allow for more storage space. Overall, I had a terrible experience at Stohlman Auto and will never shop there again, nor will I recommend the store to anyone.

An incredible experience!!
We were shopping for a 2014 or 2015 Outback 3.6R Limiteds all along the east coast, from Maine to Florida. We new exactly what we wanted regarding the car and options as well as what we were willing to pay. When we spoke to Thomas Calvert about a 2014 3.6R with all of the options we wanted, he worked hard to get the deal done at the price we were willing to pay. We were actually on our way to another Virginia dealer that same night to purchase another vehicle. Thomas and Cathy accommodated us, we drove 2 miles to Stohlman and bought the car. Thomas was extremely professional, very knowledgable and sincere. Hesham was instrumental in getting us an excellent rate on financing and he was very discreet when an uneasy question from the past arose, regarding our credit. Hesham's knowledge of the financial products and his advice were both very much appreciated and helps us make sound decisions. I have my own business, as a jet and helicopter broker, and I truly appreciate when salesmen are good and honest and the whole process works well, as it did in this case.
