Sales Manager David Maurice assisted me by making an appointment for me to have my truck serviced. 5 STAR SERVICE. They even offered to give me a ride home until my truck was ready. They even washed my truck when they were done. I bought my wifes' car there and had my vehicle serviced there. Colonial Honda of Dartmouth, (sales and service staff), are the best in my book. Thank you all. Walter Norcross Sr.

I don't usually give reviews, but this dealership was wonderful all the way around! I purchased a used Honda & they treated me as if I bought a brand new vehicle. Had a problem with the windows & they took me in immediately & took care of the problem- At no additional cost or bs!! I would recommend Colonial to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle - Joe Zekus was outstanding & went above & beyond - Ric in the service dept was most accommodating as well! Thank-you Colonial Honda :)

Excellent salesman, Mr, Maurice was fantastic to deal with as well as the finance manager, Mr. Weidenfeller. NO PUSHY SALESMEN. They let the customer buy the car. So i never felt as though they were hovering over me the whole time. Just a fantastic experience. That is my "go to" auto dealership from now on. Thank you Colonial Honda of Dartmouth, Mass.

I went in with my newly purchased Honda (bought in Rhode Island), to get a new sticker and intending this to be my new service center, as I live in MA. I had to wait about 15 minutes before anyone even took the time to check me in. Peter Slota's name was on the slip, so I'm assuming it was him that I dealt with. I also bought some touch up paint, and told of my intentions to be a regular customer with Colonial. I LOVE my Hondas, and have been a Honda owner since 1996. I proceeded to wait in the waiting room for about an hour, finally going to check to see what was taking so long.....I'd never waited that long for a sticker. As I rounded the corner, Mr. Slota jumped up and said "I was just going to get the paperwork now!" I thought...okay. No big deal. He takes me to the cashier, where I pay....and the payment included the paint, which was only being ordered. I was not crazy about paying for something I didn't even have yet, but did so, anyway. Then I get in the car to drive home. I notice my license plate protectors, with the name of the dealership I purchased the car from....were laying on my passenger seat floor. I did not give anyone permission to touch those covers. There was no reason for those covers to be removed, for an inspection sticker. And, if they were removed for any reason, they should have been put back on. Or replaced with others, if Colonial had an issue with my Majestic Honda protectors. This car is not brand new....but it was brand new to me. Everything on that car belongs to ME, and I found it petty and unprofessional that the service techs would do something so idiotic. While maybe a joke to them, it made me wonder how much more "joking" went on while my car was being serviced. In short, I lost my confidence in this dealership. I sent an email to Mr. Slota, letting him know what I was upset with.....at least, expecting some sort of response back. It would have gone a long way toward earning my respect and trust back. Instead, I heard nothing. I was told they would call me when my paint came in. They didn't. I had to call them, and chase it down. As I left, I saw Mr. Slota sitting at his desk.....no recognition of me, at all. I was going to go up and speak with him, but I was too angry and let down to bother. It may not seem like much, but this behavior (and lack of response back) has cost them my patronage. I will choose another certified dealer (likely, Seekonk) and will never recommend Colonial to anyone else. I have several family members and friends who are long time Honda owners and lovers. We are loyal to the makers, but not to this dealer. A big disappointment, for me, as I've had nothing but raves for other dealers I've done business with. This one is a bad apple in the bunch. Update: The very next morning, after I posted this review, my phone rang. It was Mr. Slota. This is how the conversation pretty much played out: Me: Hello? MS: I just got your message on my desk this morning.....I am so sorry to hear that you were not pleased with your experience! Me: Mr. Slota, I sent my message to you over a week and a half ago. MS: Oh, sorry about that. I took the week off....you know, my daughter going to college and all. Me: (hmmmm, well you are back at work this week....have you not checked your messages? You are the service MANAGER, after all?) Me: (here, I proceed to remind Mr. Slota about the things that upset me....the most, being the license plate protectors. I know, simple thing, right?? Hey, they were my first plate protectors, and I thought they were all that and more!) MS: I'm SURE our technicians would never remove your protectors because they were from a competing dealer, and leave them on your floor! It is probably because they needed to take them off to do the state inspection. It might be MA state regulations. I'm not sure. Me: (Mr. Slota, aren't you supposed to be somewhat familiar with this stuff?) Well, they do not obscure ANY part of the license plate...or the registration sticker, Mr. Slota. So, I don't think that is the case. Unless they needed to inspect the metal edge rim of the license plate, itself? That makes no sense. And, if they had to remove them, they should have put them back. MS: Well, we sure have learned a lesson! I am going to have a meeting with my technicians (ya, right) and this lack of communication between the technicians and myself will be resolved. We don't want this to happen to our customers! How can we earn your trust back? I'm sending you a voucher for a free oil change. I'm going to sign off on that, and I will send that right out! Can I just ask one thing? Can you go back, and change the review you left? Me: I will do that, Mr. Slota...I will look at it. Still waiting for the voucher, or any work of apology or...anything, from Mr. Slota. So, yes, I am looking over my review, and verifying that this dealership is one to avoid, folks.

Dealer response

As General Manager of Colonial Honda, I'd like to personally apologize on behalf of our dealership and the way the transaction was handled. I'm not going to make the situation worse by even attempting to make any excuses for the poor levefl of customer service we delivered here. What I can say is that as General Manager, I do care about how we run our business and the level of service we deliver. As a rule, this is not how every customer transaction is handled - we have many, many positive experiences here at Colonial Honda.. obviously this was one where we severely dropped the ball. Its completely unexcusable - and I apologize for the poor customer service. We will continue to try to improve every day.

Dealer response

10/11 - Update, As General Manager I did some additional work to try and make sure this type of unhappy situation does not happen again. I found out where it all broke down. It seems that in Rhode Island, the legal acceptable License Plate frame is larger than what is legal in Massachusetts. The Rhode Island license plate frame extends about 1" into the Plate - which while legal in RI, is not legal in Massachusetts. Just a strange, unique requirement by the state of Mass. Our State licensed inspector was not able to pass the inspection with those frames on the car.. thats why they were removed. Where the process went bad -> we *Never* should have removed the frames without discussing the situation with the customer. We took it on our own to do it - and our technician never communicated this with the Advisor, who in turn - never communicated it with the customer. The root of this problem was poor communication, and we are doing our best to make sure this never happens again. But the plate frame removal was not done with any malicious intent. Again, my apologies - but I wanted to get to the bottom of this. Best Regards, Nick Surdis General Manager

We recently purchased the 2011 CRV, which we absolutely love! Our salesperson Robby went above and beyond in finding us our next SUV. There were a few hiccups along the way, which were out of Robby's control. Again, Robby did everything he could to make up for the inconveniences. We will definitely be back to Honda Colonial as salespeople like Robby that have passion and drive make all the difference.

This was my 23 year old daughter 1st car purchase on her own. I normally hate going to look for cars at dealerships because everyone is usually pushy about sales. It was a different experience from the beginning. Very personal service and no pushy/phony salesperson. Barry Otto was wonderful on both the professional and personal level. I will be buying a new vehicle for myself next Spring. I will definitely return to Colonial. The CR-V I test drove has me hooked!

After dealing with other Honda dealerships from rt 44 to Rhode Island, my final stop was at Colonial Honda. The salesman Robby was very educated on the Accord and showed us features not gone over by 3 other dealers. He was very personable and easy to spend a few hours again. Before we ever talked price, is personality shined through the unpleasantries of purchasing a vehicle. Even when spoken to buy the Manager Richie, we never felt any amount of pressure. There was a level of confidence both of them displayed that had relaxed me and my wife. Kevin ward is also note worthy. His down-to-earth attitude and straight forward disposition made buying after-the-fact product an no-brainer. Overall it was easy to make a desicion once we realized that for once, a sales team put customer service ahead of sales. Thank you Colonial!

Clean, Great service dealer!!

Not my first stop for purchasing a new car (honda accord sport) but was my last thanks to the excellent service by Sale Rep Nathan Jezak taking the time for a nice test drive. Also great closing sales manager Richard Pacheco. Was torn between the new mazda 6 touring and this honda, not to mention the ford fusion. I made what I think is the best decision on the honda accord (lease) and the terms. Can't complain on the deal and the residual that honda has attained over all these years!! This dealership is hands down pristine and great service and the place was jamming, that should tell you not only is this place cranking out excellent service, but the quality and name of the honda brand . I would recommend this dealer to friends and family looking at honda all day. Don't fear the pressure when purchasing a new vehicle, everyone has to make money and commision in sales, but you always have the ability to say no. This place will make you say yes, just do your own research ahead and if the honda is something you are interested, then I recommend you give colonial honda a shot.

I would like to let you know that Joe Zekus is a pleasure to work with. He, unlike most salespeople has his customer's needs at heart. He worked with my wife and I to get the vehicle that we wanted and worked with both us and the dealership management to get it at the price we wanted to pay. The Odessy we purchased was the 2014 model and the first 2014 sold by Colonial Honda. The night we made the purchase we had questions about the van and Joe was not able to answer them all as the 2014 has many changes. BUt, by the next afternoon when we took delivery he had read up on it and was able to answer all our questions and took the time needed to show us all the features and demonstrated how they work. I can assure you that we will be a customer of Colonial Honda as long as Joe is there. Lucille & Bob Lapointe 600 Old Colony Terrace Tiverton, RI
