Great person, great sales person, great deal!

Bob Wilson of Balise Volkswagen is fantastic! Being a salesperson myself, I cringe sometimes at having to deal with other salespeople, but he made my car buying experience wonderful. He called when he said he would, I got a great and fair deal on my new car, and he was sweet, kind, professional, and he got the entire deal done in record time! GO SEE BOB WILSON!

Best Experience!!!!

I recently purchased a 2014 Jetta Sedan and am extremely satisfied with everyone I dealt with at this dealership. Bob Wilson was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and did an amazing job. Unbelievable experience - they have our back!

Our 2011 Passat lease would have been up in three months, and we were going to be quite over on miles due to work travel. We were dreading it...but resolved. Chris, the sales manager, called to propose lease terms based on the mileage he saw, and offered a nice deal to re-up early. Taking in to account all payments in the new lease, he saved us at least half of what we would have paid in penalty on the expiring lease. We are beyond grateful and nearly beyond belief. And, after having an excellent experience leasing the 2011 with Yaris Martinez, we were delighted to be introduced to Larry (Lozowski - hope I am spelling his last name correctly, his card is in the car...!). We felt comfortable and confident with Larry right away. He was knowledgeable and did a great job getting us excited about the features of the new Passat. Previously, we thought we'd just be replacing one for another, no big deal....but we ended up excited! And having some great laughs! Just a great experience all around with a wonderful dealership. We look forward to doing more business with Balise in the future!

Awesome Experience

I bought my second vehicle from Balise VW, This one was for my son who is in high school and he couldn't be happier. The price was on point and the way we were treated was at the highest level possible.

Worst business transaction ever!

Just purchased a 1 year old vehicle from Balise. After I told the salesman over the phone I was probably going to take it, the price I had seen online went up by almost $300. Good thing I printed out the original listing , that they did honor. Due to transferring another set of license plates to my old car, that we are keeping, we wanted to handle the transfer of plates , registration , & sales tax ourselves at the DMV. Had to make 2 return trips to Balise, at 20 miles each way, for them to get the correct forms I needed. Upon the second trip, the business person suggested I follow him to the main office, about 15 miles away, to get the title certified by them that the DMV needed. I wasn't going to waste more of my gas so I rode along with him. Finally, with all the correct forms needed, I was able to process everything within 10 mins at the DMV. Three different DMV employees told me, Balise should have known right from the start what was needed. Everyone knows most dealerships will handle the DMV transactions as a "courtesy" for a fee. I guess they don't know what's needed when the paying customer wants to handle it. They even said ,We have runners that do that." Being there the previous day for 3 hours, we were understandably thirsty. No offers for a water or coffee. No admittance by the business person , salesman manager , or general manager of any mishandling on their part. I will never do business with them again!!

Didn't do better at Balise

On Feburary 25th I agreed and signed on a price to buy a 2015 GTI at the Balise VW dealership in West Warwick RI but the sale did not get done. Apparently one of the Managers Greg, that wrote up the sale, doubled the discount and even after signing and agreeing on a price, I was told I could not buy the vehicle at the agreed upon price, which I signed for, because there was an accident with the rebate being doubled. My sales rep David proceeded to rip up the signed agreement, which we shook on, with the price, trade in amount, and financing rate. I was then given a revised rate with the "correct" discounted amount. I stated that I already committed to the deal I signed for. I was told they couldn't do that and it was now past 9pm, so I left the dealership. I tried calling the dealership's to speak with the GM, and Greg who is not the GM but is a manager who put the numbers together, called to say they had my license, that was left in a copy machine (which is a major inconvenience in itself) and apologized for his mistake with the numbers and stated it was only the second time it happened in four years. I told him I felt that the right thing to do would be to honor the deal given to me. I was told that couldn't be done, so I requested my license to be mailed back to me. I feel as though, a mistake like this should have been caught with the amount of back and forth as my trade-in was increased and an extended maintenance plan was added. If it was caught during the second look over and I was told it was a mistake, before I ever signed anything, I could understand. In my line of work, if a mistake like this were to happen, we typically are forced to absorb it. It is considered a cost of doing business. Sometimes a creative solution will fully offset the error or sometimes we just have to pony up. On the 28th, I did speak with the GM Michael, and another apology was made and I stressed nothing else was offered to me to help offset the pricing error, and he offer the choice of a tire warranty package or a extended schedual service, but neither of these services would have offset the mistake. It was a step in the right direction, but still a few hundred dollars in value off. I understand that accidents (or possibly dealer games) can happen, and apologies were made, but I am just really disappointed.

2014 VW CC purchase

I had previously bought a 2010 VW Passat new, 5 years ago here at Balise. I drove the car for the past 5 years and absolutely loved the car and the service provided by Balise VW. This time around I was interested in the 2014 VW CC which were discounted do to the new model year 2015 being available. I worked with Charles Kinch a Sales Consultant who helped me decide on a color seeing there were 5 different colors to choose from in the CC line. Charles showed me the color he thought I'd like best, Island Grey, which was a huge help because I was lost on the color choice overall. I test drove the car and really liked it. Charles set up the pricing for me and finance options. After deciding on my trade in allowance for a 2005 BMW XI which my son had been driving, the paperwork came together quickly. While I was completing the paperwork with the finance manager, Yaris Martinez also a Sales Consultant, checked over my trade in to make sure I had removed all my belongings, although I assured him I had done so. Yaris discovered I had left my parking pass on the rear view mirror. This avoided a potential big issue for me on Monday morning. It was a very small thing but I was impressed with Yaris' attention to detail. He then had the car cleaned, gas tank filled, and switched my plates and clear plate covers onto the new VW CC. After the paperwork was completed (roughly 15 minutes), Yaris went over all the features of the new CC with me. Overall a great car buying experience, they put a very tough deal together for me, meanwhile there was coffee, hot chocolate, and pizza available while I waited. The process was very smooth and painless. This dealership is made up of real down to earth and knowledgeable professionals which is why I am a repeat customer, not to mention the VW's are a very strong value for your dollar, and extremely durable with regular maintenance, which is included on new VW's for the first 24 months.

Great Sales Experience

I have bought a lot of cars over the years and this has been the best car purchase. We drove from Connecticut to Balise VW in Rhode Island because we were interested in a particular vehicle that they had advertised online. When we met with our salesman, David Coley, he took the time to go over all of the details of the vehicle we were interested in, and he also showed us other vehicles that we were interested in for comparison purposes. We spent over 3 hours looking at various cars, but never felt pressured to buy one car or another. David took the time to answer all of our questions. Ultimately we decided on purchasing the car that we had originally driven out to see, a used Jetta Sportswagen with only 7000 miles. When we came to pick up the car the following weekend, we noticed there was a minor problem with the door hinge of the car. Even though it was weekend and the autobody/repair shop didn?t have all their staff around, David arranged for the car to be brought into service to have the door adjusted. After we signed the paperwork and purchased the car, David was happy to teach us the details of how to use the navigation, preset the satellite radio stations etc. He was really professional and it was a pleasure to have him as our salesman. Since the purchase David has been in contact with us to complete the Connecticut registration process and called twice to make see how we were enjoying our new car. Today, Greg, a sales manager at Balise, who we only spoke with for a few minutes, called to see how things were going. We had a very positive experience and would highly recommend Balise VW. Ask for David to take care of you!
