Had a warranty claim as seat cracked.

Had a warranty claim as seat cracked. Had to fight with service department to get it covered. Waited…waited…waited…and nobody ever called to tell me the part was in. Then spent 25 minutes on multiple phone calls attempting to speak to someone and nobody answered. Contacted GM, Glenn Riedel, and he wouldn’t contact me back. Finally when I spoke with him he could care less. I was surprised that the GM had no concern or empathy for the horrible service.

Terrible customer service

Worst service experience ever. I brought my 2023 Highlander in for an airbag error. The car has 300 miles on it, they didn’t have the part in stock. I understand not having the part in stock but they were also unable to provide me with a loaner because the rental agency they deal with was closed. This was after telling me that the car isn’t safe to drive and I could try to find a rental on my own. Corporate was even more useless than the dealership.

Homophobic Slurs

I'm not the type to write reviews, in fact I never have. But I was so utterly disgusted by my interaction with this dealership I felt the need to warn others. I went in the see about a frame replacement on my 03 tacoma with 62,000 miles, due to the Toyota recall after they dropped the ball on frames for that model year. While I was having a discussion with the assistant service manager about how Toyota would not stand by their product and fix their mistake because the warranty was expired by a few months, another service member walked in and had a light hearted exchange with the manager. He then proceeded to use a extremely offensive Homophobic slur right in front of me. The manager laughed and brushed it off as if it was no big deal however I was completely appalled. Despite this, they continuously insisted on telling me what they could offer on my vehicle and took my into the sales area. They tried the same dirty dealer tricks by handing me a paper asking me to fill out my social and all of my personal information, saying in was just a privacy agreement. Had I not asked a few more questions regarding the need to disclose such information, they would have run my credit without my consent leaving me to deal with a hard credit inquiry and a knock to my credit score. Although it felt like they were trying to deceive me, I finally got into a car for a test drive and it was FILTHY! It was covered in some kind of animal hair from the previous owner that I'm still trying to get off of my clothing a week later. Lastly, after the "sales manager" came to discuss numbers, I mentioned I was considering calling Toyota to see if they might be willing to honor their factory recall for my truck frame. The manager literally laughed in my face and said "yeah there is no way thats going to happen". So despite the dealership of a major auto manufacturer company claiming to carry such a high quality product, the face of this company scoffs at the idea of his employers' willingness to correct a manufacturing problem that's already been publicly recalled. As a local military member, I was honestly appalled and very offended with how this dealership conducted themselves and chose to represent Toyota. As I'm sharing here, I will also be sure to inform the 350+ members at my base to stay away from such a disrespectful, deceitful, and unethical business. I still plan on contacting Toyota, however I strongly recommend steering clear of this dealership, even after their new fancy remodel. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

Awesome Service Center

It's always a pleasant experience when we have our cars serviced at Shore Toyota. We are usually greeted and checked in by Bob Anderson, Service Manager. Bob is very thorough and he is dedicated to providing top notch customer service. During our visit for a regular oil change, Bob became aware that there were two recalls that needed to be taken care of on my minivan. Without delay, Bob arranged to have both repaired during that visit. This is just one example of Bob's proactive approach to quality customer service. We have had several great experiences. So thank you Bob for making us feel like valued customers. Also our Salesman, Danny Leach makes a point to stop by a say hello whenever he sees us there for service. When we purchased the minivan from Danny, it needed minor paint touchup in spots and Danny made sure that the work was done to our complete satisfaction as he promised at the time of the sale. Overall nice experience at Shore Toyota. Also they offer complimentary beverages, a comfortable waiting area and a shuttle service. Thank you!

Worst maintenace service ever

I took my toyota avalon for a recall call. They call me 2 hours later to pick up the car, when i start it and put it on gear the locks didnt work. I went back to the dealer i park and when getting out of the car all the lights on the car went crazy it looks like i was having a party inside my car. I went in and talk to the custumers service lady, she went and got the guy that work on my car, he ask me if i had an aftermarket alarm installed on my car, i respond sir everything on this car is original from the dealer. I got mad and the lady who went and got him ask me to go inside and wait. After an hour they come and get me saying the car is ready. I ask what was wrong and they told me he installed the wrong part but it was address, a week after now my dashbord time and date is different everyday.

Brought out cars they wanted to sell not the one I wanted. I am much happier with my new Hyundai.

Lori Reynolds, Assistant Service Manager

Lori was very helpful when I took my wife's 2006 Toyota Avalon in for 60,000 mile service. Another service company told me the transmission fluid should be flushed. Lori showed me the dip stick and how clear the fluid looked. She assured me she wouldn't suggest any maintenance that wasn't needed. She also explained thoroughly the maintenance required and why it was necessary. I have complete faith in her. In fact there were other service personnel who came to her with questions which she had the answers. For future service needs she will be my go to person. I can't say enough how good she made me feel. This is the first time I ever felt this satisfied about getting a car serviced, especially at a 60,000 mile one. She's the best! Lou Magliocco

Nothing but good things to say:

I bought a used 2011 Tundra from Shore Toyota. I noticed the front bumper the paint was peeling and the clear coat was peeling as well, I stopped in to inquire about having this flaw repaired. Everyone was polite and went out of their way to ensure the issue is addressed and taken care of. I have purchased many cars over the last 30 years, but Shore toyota I feel made me feel as my issues with my truck meant something to me, and it did. But they corrected the issue and my truck looks great. I have nothing but praise for the men and women that are employed by Shore Toyota in Mays Landing,NJ I am not affiliated nor a paid endorser for Shore Toyota, just a completely satisfied customer that wanted to express myself on the over all service provided to me. Thanks again Shore Toyota Jim Freund

Oil Change and 60 point inspection

I have been getting my oil changes done here on my 07 Toyota for two years. They supposedly do a 60 point inspection with the oil change as well. Along with the receipt is a checklist of everything they CHECK for you......including tires and brakes. After my first visit the service manager told me I only have 200-300 miles left on the front brakes...this was July 2011. EVERY visit since then the checklist has indicated that they are thick enough to be considered brand new....so I definitely knew they were lying about checking the brakes. Last week I was experiencing a leaky tire and took it to the tire shop. Both of my front tires were dry rotted and cracked apart the entire circumference of the sidewall where it meets the tread....with vertical cracks from the treadline to rim as well. These cracks were 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick with the rubber being completely gone. The inside edge of the tires were completely worn down trough the belts which created long holes....5 on one tire 7 on the other. It had only been 3000 miles since my last Shore Toyota visit where the checklist described them to be in excellent condition. These tires were on the brink of blowing out.....thank God one started leaking. Myself or someone else could have been seriously injured as a result of ill put trust in the service techs and managers at Shore Toyota. Shame for your negligence and shame for your lies. If you were not checking these items I could have checked them myself or had an honest mechanic do it. After consulting with one of the Shore Toyota service managers he assured me that I could not prove that his department had done anything wrong or misrepresented the work they had done.....even though I still have EVERY checklist. He went on to say that he was not willing to do anything for me because some of the techs that worked on my car did not even work there anymore....so what? Be careful out there Shore Toyota customers. I honestly hope this was an isolated incident.....but I doubt it.
