We’re sorry to hear you had a negative impression. That’s not the experience we aim to deliver, and it’s certainly not how we want our business to be represented. We care deeply about our customers and stand behind the service we provide. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to improve.

We purchased a car for my daughter.

We purchased a car for my daughter. It was a good pretty good deal, but less than a month later we had to put over 2000.00 into it just so it would run. I called the dealer and basically got no response. Our good deal turned into a very poor deal for us. John

John, we’re sorry to hear about the issues you’ve experienced. While we aim to offer quality vehicles at fair prices, used cars can sometimes develop unexpected problems. We regret that this situation didn’t meet your expectations and appreciate your feedback.

Ryan seems like a really good guy.

Ryan seems like a really good guy. I think he was honest and open about the car we were looking at and in explaining what's going on in the industry. However, we thought that the used cars were priced too high - at every dealer, not just 5280.

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! 😊 We’re glad you had a positive experience with Ryan and appreciated the transparency. We understand pricing can be a challenge in today’s market and truly appreciate you giving us a look.

I bought a Rav4 from 5280 in April and was assured that

I bought a Rav4 from 5280 in April and was assured that it was in good working order. I saw that there was a slight bit of fluid leaking from the transfer case. The underside of the car had been detailed and I was assured that the seep was normal for the age of the engine and that it would not be an issue. I was told that it would not be leaving puddles of fluid on my driveway. The warranty did not cover the leak because 5280’s mechanic did not classify it as a leak but a seep which we were not aware of. Upon request, 5280 would not release the notes from their mechanic, saying that it was not legal. I insisted on speaking to their 3rd party mechanic on the phone to ensure the seep was ok. He was less than polite and hardly remembered working on the car even though the dealer had it for less than two days. Less than 6 weeks later there was fluid all over my driveway. The shroud they had wiped clean had collected a bunch of fluid and the underside of the car was a mess. I had put minimal miles on the car and drove it gently. We were told to have it looked at by the warranty company’s mechanic who told us the leak was an obvious existing condition that the dealership should have taken care of before they sold the car for $16,000. He also found a faulty axle seal. When I talked to 5280 both the manager and owner said that they would take care of the axle seal that they had missed but only if I would sign a non-disclosure agreement which was promptly sent over. I declined, saying I didn’t see any sense in signing a legal document that bound me to silence for an issue that they admitted to missing in the first place. 5280 refused to address the transfer case or even split the cost with me saying the “seep” turned into a “leak” in the few weeks after I bought the car and that it wasn’t their responsibility. I was left with $2,000 of work and at the end of the conversation, the owner Rick told me that maybe I wouldn’t have had this problem if I wasn’t so lazy and would have examined the underside of the vehicle more thoroughly. Shop elsewhere where the sales are honest and reliable.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and regret that you left feeling dissatisfied. We strive to be upfront about the condition of all vehicles and allow every customer the opportunity to have independent inspections performed prior to purchase. While we do our best to accurately classify and disclose vehicle conditions, used cars can develop issues over time. We understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.

I bought a 2012 CRV EXL with 110,000 miles. This was the best priced CRV in the area with this few miles. It was fully inspected, had new tires, front and back rotors and pads replace, the windshield replaced, and an oil change before passing their inspection. 5280 Motorsports did a fantastic job of providing a vehicle that I trust sending my daughter across country in to start grad school out east.

No Pressure Car Buying Experience

We recently bought a car from 5280 Motor Company, and our experience was great. Javier was very helpful and found us a car that matched our needs. We did not feel pressured or rushed to make a decision. They made financing easy and helped us come up with something that worked for our budget. It is a smaller dealership, but they still had a decent selection of cars. They seem to put a lot of effort into having used cars on their lot that are in really good condition. They provide the CARFAX Report on all of their vehicles, which takes out some of the unknown when buying a used car. They also offer a 3rd party extended warrant (which we bought). We absolutely love our new car and highly recommend anyone looking for a car to go here!

DONT DO IT

I bought my vehicle here and was helped out by Ryan. I purchased a 2005 4runner with 187,000 miles on it. The price that I paid out the door was around $12,500. Not a bad price for such a nice looking 4runner considering they will last a lifetime! Well to the naked eye the car was almost perfect. Just a few minor dents and scratches, but looked really nice considering its a 14 yr old car. I was told that it would pass emissions and that everything was in great condition on the vehicle but that if it didn't pass, then to bring it back and they would fix it. When I drove the vehicle off the lot it was good except for one thing which was the back window wouldn't roll down. I figured it would be a minor fix and something that I could easily get taken care of considering I work at Toyota. Well I had three days to take it in for emissions, and the day after I drove it off the lot, all my check engine lights came on. I had Toyota take a look at it and turns out I had a bad catalytic converter and a HUGE front end oil leak. Toyota told me to take it in for emissions and that it wouldn't pass, and with it not passing, 5280 Motor Company would be responsible for fixing the damage. Well I took it for the emissions test and surprisingly enough it passed. Come to find out that the only reason it passed emissions was because 5280 motor company had cleared the diagnostic trouble codes, therefore leaving me 100% responsible for fixing all the things wrong with my 4runner I had just purchased from them. After Toyota having to work on my vehicle for 5 days to get it fixed, I ended up spending over $2000 just to fix all the problems with my vehicle. Keep in mind that I am an employee for Toyota, therefore I was given an extremely huge price discount on parts, labor and services. Although I spent $2000 to fix my 4runner, a normal customer would have paid well over $3500 dollars to fix the vehicle that I was told was in great condition. I have had my 4runner for about 3 weeks now, and there is not a day that goes by that my check engine light doesn't come on. This is a trouble car with many issues that I am having to personally fix and pay for. A 2005 4runner that's in great condition is well worth $12,000, but this vehicle wasn't in great condition. The drivers side catalytic converter needed replaced, the rear wiper motor was broken and needed replaced, the wheels needed aligned, balanced and rotated because my steering wheel shook at high speeds, the AC needed recharged, the front timing cover needed replaced, the front of the car had a huge oil leak, the oil and oil filter needed changed, the vehicle needed a power steering service, and it needed a cooling system service. These are all the services that I had to start getting looked at only 2 days after purchasing the vehicle. And in all these services cost me over $2000 out of pocket. To the naked eye, and face to face, this place will have you fooled. I would highly recommend NOT GOING HERE because you will get extremely xxxxed over once you leave their lot. Sneaky xxx car dealership. Watch your back here. And good luck to anyone in the future who gets sucked into this places xxxxxxxx! Reanna

Dealer response

We’re sorry to hear you’re unhappy with your purchase. This vehicle was thoroughly inspected and passed emissions testing at the time of sale. While we do our best to accurately disclose the condition of every vehicle, used cars—particularly older, high-mileage ones—can develop issues after purchase. All buyers are welcome to have vehicles independently inspected prior to finalizing a sale. While we stand by our process, we regret that this experience did not meet your expectations.

Fast and easy

This was my first car buying experience and it went smoother than ever. Ryan was incredibly kind and helpful with everything which made this experience a positive one.

Thank you!

Ryan and Rick are very kind and helpful. The original car buying experience was painless as Ryan was a pleasant and patient salesman. Then when I had second thoughts about the car I purchased, Rick worked with me to find a vehicle I felt more comfortable buying. I cannot thank them enough. Many businesses claim customer satisfaction as a top priority but 5280 stands by that promise.
