Amazing staff!!
Leo and the team were amazing! We only went to test drive to see if the car I though I wanted later on next year was actually one I liked. Long story short- I drove home I’m my better than dream car!!! 100% will be a lifelong EC Toyota customer.

Exceptional Service Department

Frank Nelson
I want to give a shout out to Frank Nelson. I scheduled an oil change on Saturday morning for 7:15am. Frank was very helpful and understanding when it came to me getting back home. My wife works nights and she got off around 730am he was able to get me a Lyft back to my house. When the time came to pick up my car I called Frank and asked if there was any way to get a ride back to the dealership due to my wife knocking out. He didn’t have to help but he did go out of his way to help me stay out of the lioness den. Once again THANK YOU Frank for your help and understanding.

Had a good experience buying my truck..Darnell was cool to work with..he got called in on his day off too ..he made the whole process fast and easy.. he answered all my questions and gave me some answers to questions I didn’t think to ask..I would definitely recommend to call Darnell if you’re looking to buy a car

Service is very bad and they are not professional
This is the worst service ever. They don't know how to respect people and evaluate their time. I made an appointment with them to diagnose a problem in my 2015 toyota Sienna automatic sliding door, and I arrived at the time (11:30 am) and a woman of the staff took my car and told me it will take one to two hours to diagnose the problem. I wait there more than three hours and they do nothing. I ask the women how long it is going to take more because I need to bring my children from school. She said I don't know, and they need more time for that. But I had to go. They tried to make me lease a car from them and leave my car there, but I asked them to bring my car and leave. She said they were working in my car, and they disassembled the door and needed time to assemble the door, but I insisted on taking the car and leaving. She took two minutes to bring the car, and that meant that they weren't working with my car. She was mad and threw the key and told me to go and take the car. The car sliding door stopped working after it was opened and closed suddenly when I was driving in the freeway and the window glass broke too. Toyota expanded the warranty for nine years because some of the door parts have defects. They have to do the repair for free, but they wanted to charge me $195 for diagnosing the problem only and then see how much the parts cost. I will contact toyota usa and complain at better businesses bureau. They are non-professional and so rude and try to rip people too.

Toyota of El Cajon treats customers right. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Toyota of El Cajon on 3 different visits over the past 3 years. We bought our 2018 RAV4 from them in 2020, and the sales experience was smooth, if he still works there, ask for Darnell Jackson, he’s the salesman who took care of us and I would be returning to him whenever I’m ready to buy another newer car. The car buying process was pretty straightforward, and Darnell went to bat for us and got the deal we wanted. I’ve been to Toyota of El Cajon on a different visit specifically only for parts, and man their customer service in that department is out of this world! Most dealership parts reps are dismissive and not customer focused, but Toyota of El Cajon’s parts reps have got it down! They take care of you and do everything they can to ensure your questions get answered to your satisfaction and they help you find the right part you need. I called literally 8 other Toyota dealerships parts departments in San Diego County asking for a parts quote, and Toyota of El Cajon beat everyone else’s prices by a mile, and they were so friendly and courteous. To top it off, I recently brought my 2018 RAV4 to Toyota of El Cajon for warranty / VSA service for a failed Driver Door Lock Actuator, and was immediately greeted by one of the Porters, I wish I had gotten his name, he was great. It’s my fault as I came there without an appointment around lunchtime and it was their busy day (soon after I came and had been waiting, there was a line of cars behind me well out the door!). The car drop-off area was clean and organized, with several Porters milling about all doing their tasks. I waited about 10 minutes until Service Advisor Brian Johnson approached me and took care of my issue. He explained that it being a Friday, parts are not shipped to them until Monday. I said no problem and left it with him. He called me that evening to let me know he had managed to get my RAV4 diagnosed, verified the issue, got the part and installed it and it was ready to pick up, I was blown away. Brian Johnson is a professional, extremely friendly guy and made the entire service process easy and low stress. Also Alex the Service Department Manager was very nice and helpful as well when picking up my car. I for sure will be asking specifically for Brian Johnson for my future service needs. I’ve never been more impressed with a dealership, considering most experiences at other dealerships are a mixed bag at best. Toyota of El Cajon is doing something right, their people are happy, relaxed and professional despite being very busy, or perhaps they just happened to get lucky with their staff as the customer service of all three departments was excellent. I never thought I’d be leaving a car dealership a positive review but Toyota of El Cajon deserves the praise! Thank you!!
