I brought my friend in to buy a car.

I brought my friend in to buy a car. he is from Haiti and is not fluent in English so he wanted me to come to help him. The lady we spoke with raised her voice multiple times during the negotiation and tried many strong arm tactics to get us to buy as soon as possible. I told her I did not want him there without me because I felt they would take advantage. She then tells him right in front of me that He does not need me in the finance box and he can do it himself. I repeated very clearly that he is not going in there alone. We ended up walking on the deal later and the day after I get 7 frantic calls from my friend while I'm at work and he's telling me in broken English that he needs my help and that they are trying to get him to sign papers. I had to rush over to the dealership to protect him from this predatory dealership. He sent me the texts they where sending him about the upcharges. this included a almost 5 thousand dollar warranty for 5 years on a car listed at 14,500 dollars and gap insurance costing 1,200 and the made up doc fee of about 600 dollars. I strongly discourage anyone shopping here especially if you are helping your kid buy a car because they will try and get them alone to sign deals if they can. The way they tried to take advantage of my friend is disgusting and this dealership embodies all the common stereotypes of dealerships. They are crooks and will take as much as they can and then some.

Joseph, We recall the series of events quite differently. We do not tolerate anyone acting or speaking in a disrespectful manner toward our employees, including swearing and yelling. As you shared with us, you are a manager at a local retail chain. As a person in such a position, we are sure you will understand the need to protect our team and that this type of behavior, from any person, a customer or otherwise, is simply not tolerated. We are proud of our entire sales team for the way they each handled the multiple situations, with the utmost level of courtesy and professionalism. We were very eager to assist your friend and happy to ensure we were with him every step of the process - we know there are a lot of moving parts to a vehicle transaction! We were truly honored to be a small stepping stone in your friend's journey to make Vermont his new home, and though we are unable to assist him, we wish him the best of luck with his car-buying journey!
