Just bought a vehicle from Harris Kia, Brian was a great

Just bought a vehicle from Harris Kia, Brian was a great sales rep. Got us through the process at a price we could work with. All of the staff , Chris ,elroy and others were great to work with. I’ll be back there first next time we are looking for another vehicle.

Avoid dealing with Elliot he lacks basic knowledge in his profession and doesn’t have the ability to be honest. He also doesn’t follow up on his word. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

Brought my car in for a recall.

Brought my car in for a recall. When i picked up the car, the door handle was broke. They refused to take responsibility for it. I asked to talk to service manager and was told she was not in, i would receive a call later. The next minute i had my wife call and she was immediately put on phone with service manager. They are liars and completetely unprofessional.

Dealer response

Mr. Kahn, I typically don't respond with particulars on public forums but in this case I feel the need to recap the conversation that we had when I called you just now. There is nothing that we did to break your door handle while your vehicle was here as we simply performed a recall on the seat on your 10-year old vehicle, and used your door handle as it was intended to be used. Like I said, I would be happy to help you by having a look at your door handle for you, and even help with a discount on parts & labour to get your door handle repaired. That said, I would appreciate it if you would refrain from abusive language and yelling while communicating with our customer care team and service advisors. I understand you may feel frustrated but this kind of behavior does not help the situation. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any further questions. Best regards, Ted Boyd General Manager 250-751-1168

Had our 2022 EV6 in for a recall on the ICCU a couple

Had our 2022 EV6 in for a recall on the ICCU a couple months ago. While it was in for the recall they tried several times to upsell unnecessary work to me; and had me wait in the waiting room for four hours instead of saying it would be in the shop long enough for me to go home and wait for a call. Two days ago the ICCU failed and I had to have it towed in. This is the same part they were supposed to look at and repair when it was in for the recall notice. The part is not in for at least 3 days, and they refuse to offer a loaner vehicle while they wait for the part and to repair it because the part is "not on backorder". The plus side is at least we didn't buy this $60,000 lemon from them directly, and now know we never want to deal with these crooks when we buy our next vehicle. To add to it, the complimentary "wash and vacuum" they do after a service is just a rinse with a hose and a 2 second vacuum on the drivers side floor.

Yesterday I took my 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid in for an oil

Yesterday I took my 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid in for an oil change, wheel alignment and inspection. I drove it straight home and parked it in the garage. This Morning it would not recognize the fob and when I tried again it said critical brake error. I pumped the brakes several times and the noise ftom the engine was horrible. The noise conti used for some time and then it stopped. I got out of the car and shut the door and the car locked. I called the Dealer and they said it was my responsibility.to get it towed from Ladysmith to Nanaimo. They further said that they could not be sure it was in any way related to the work they did yesterday. The first service rep I spoke to was rude and no help.at all. It has now been towed to Harris Kia in Nanaimo. When the tow driver jumped the battery the dash showed the battery was charged even though the car would not start. I will not go ba k to this dealership when this current situation is resolved.

After I bought my EV from this dealership they contacted

After I bought my EV from this dealership they contacted me many times to come in for an oil change?!?! With less than 10000 km. they said they found that I needed a brake job and a wheel alignment. The computer printout that showed I needed the wheel alignment had nothing on it that identified it as my vehicle. When I reported that to the service manager she just said that maybe they should find a way to remedy that!! There is not a lot of costly maintenance for an EV so they just make it up. I will never deal with them again or recommend the to anyone.

Dealer response

Good afternoon, I am sorry that your experience with Harris Kia was less than perfect. Contrary to popular belief, manufacturer's do recommend servicing an electric vehicle. Although I cannot look at a specific work order (because I do not know who you are), based on what you said in your comments, I am unclear why you are so unhappy with your experience. Is it because we offered you a wheel alignment after we checked it and found it required one? This is our obligation as a Kia dealership and a licensed repair facility. If there is more to your experience that made you give us a 1 score on this platform, please contact me directly and I would be happy to look into it for you. Again, I would reach out to you but your contact information is hidden. Sincerely, Ted Boyd General Manager 250-751-1168 ted.boyd@harrisauto.ca

The salesperson we dealt with (Jeff) was excellent to work with. The sales manager not as much. He tried to sway us off of the hybrid model. He also would not provide us with a trade-in value. His demeanor was not what I consider to be 'friendly' to a seriously potential buyer. In addition, I was very disappointed to see the price they put on a used hybrid Sportage. I was told their dealership did not apply the "market adjustment fee" that I found at a dealership in Vancouver. However, their price for the used vehicle was more than its original purchase price two years and 20,000 km previous.

I had a break controller installed on my Kia Sorento.

I had a break controller installed on my Kia Sorento. everyone I dealt with was friendly however when it came time to pay the bill it was over a hundred higher for labour then originally quoted. I paid the bill. However when I had a heavy duty mechanic friend check the job they were very concerned about what they saw. they took a few photos, heat shrink wraps not shrunk, quick connects, lack of taping the tubing. When I replied to the dealership customer service email I’d received, with my concerns about the quality of service and over charges I received no response. After a weekend and 3 business days I still had no response I forwarded the email to the GM at which point a service manager replied apologizing for the fact he’d been too busy to even acknowledge he’d received the first email but was taking my concerns seriously and looking into it. A week after sending my original concerns I received a reply admitting I’d been over charged and offering to refund $60 plus tax but defending the job that had been done. Stating everything had been done according to procedure and Kia standards. that he disagreed with my friends opinion. I wont be taking my car back for any future services, everyone I show the photos to agree the job was not done well that moisture will get in and I’ll have shorts and lights / breaks that stop working. I’ve included the photos of the work that is apparently done to KIA standard so you can decide who you agree with.
