Skyway Classic Dealership
I have purchased two cars from Al. In both cases, he treated me fairly and honestly. When buying a classic car that is more than 50 yrs old, it can come with problems. I found that Al and his staff are sensitive to the fact that sometimes the process doesn't go as smoothly as expected. Although he may seem a bit brusque in his demeanor, Al is good-hearted and in my case helped me achieve my dream of owning a Classic Car. If I were to criticize anything it would be that Al is too busy running the business, which could lead to a breakdown in communication. All in All, my experience was great. I would for sure buy another car from Skyway Classics. Al, Roy, and Mark in my opinion are Honest, Hard Working, and really want to take care of their customers. They are all so nice, that I feel more like we are friends than anything else.

HORRIBLE!
This place is horrible! Alan Tanski, the CEO and Sales Manager is rude, obnoxious and almost never available. Skyway Classics sold me a 2007 Mazda Miata, on consignment, that had no catalytic converter, in violation of both Florida and Federal law. They did this, despite signing a required legal document stating that they had inspected the car and found the catalytic converter to be installed and undamaged. In addition, the car arrived at my home with a damaged radio and speakers which they had told me were working properly at their dealership. For some reason, which they will not reveal to me, they installed a new battery while performing an oil change. I believe it was during this procedure that the radio system was damaged. Skyway Classics would only pay me $200 of the $2,400 which I had to spend to fix these problems. $1,800 of the $2,400 was the cost for installing a catalytic converter system which was required to register the car. I have reported Skyway Classics to The EPA, the Better Business Bureau, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. I also plan on taking legal action. We all make mistakes but when a company reacts by using evasive and disingenuous tactics, as Skyway Classics has done, they reveal themselves as predators. I strongly advise avoiding them.

Very Satisfied with the 1966 Galaxie
I viewed a video from SKYWAY CLASSICS approximately two months ago of a 1966 Ford galaxy 500 XL convertible with a 428 CID engine and fell in love with the Ford muscle classic. I placed a bid on the car and received a phone call very quickly from Alan Tanski. I told him that I do not buy anything site unseen so I planned a trip to his dealership in Florida. My brother accompanied me as we are both retired Ford motor company employees and grew up in a family that owned a car very similar to this Galaxie. I was unable to meet Alan as he had a prior engagement to attend but he had Roy Coleman greet my brother and I when we arrived. Roy was marvelous and very accommodating. He not only allowed us to view and drive the car, he also put the car up on a rack for our inspection and then placed it out in the showing area so that we might go over it with a fine tooth comb. We were fully aware after inspecting the car what its genuine condition was with all of its positive attributes as well as some minor things that needed some attention. So far, everything has gone well in receiving the car and I just drove it yesterday and it exceeded my expectations. I look forward to the upcoming car shows and details and touch ups that I can still work out on the car myself. I was very impressed with the SKYWAY facilities and cannot say enough about Roy who helped us in Alan’s absence. Alan did keep up with good communication and checked in to make sure everything was OK once the car was delivered.

Skyway Classics - Avoid This Dealer!
Skyway sold me a 1965 Oldsmobile 442 that was represented as a "True 442", complete with a video proclaiming how great condition the car was in, with no apparent rust, new bushings, etc. In fact the car has so much rust it is structurally unsafe to drive. I posted a previous review that included just a few of the issues I had discovered. A year later I have yet to drive the car except to the restoration shop. The number of repairs and replacements is too long to list in this review but I am happy to provide that list if anyone wishes. To date I have spent $25,000 to make this vehicle road worthy...or safe for that matter. Al and his team covered up serious flaws with this vehicle including some that were potentially catastrophic. I would not trust Skyway Classics to sell me a bag of potato chips much less a vehicle. Any vehicle. What they did, the lies they made, the smoke, mirrors and coverups is nothing short of disgraceful. As the saying goes " let the buyer beware" . Well, I ignored that sage advice, trusted Al and his team and am now regretting it. This car has truly been a nightmare.

Did not deliver
I purchased a Ford galaxie from Alan a year ago and was very satisfied until now. When he delivered the car he had forgotten four tires and rims that were original to the car and that were promised and were part of the original deal. He promised he would drop them off sometime when he was in the area. I have contacted Allen numerous times over the last 12 months have left numerous messages and text messages and now I am not getting any response from him at all. If you would like to see a nice show room and some beautiful cars I recommend stopping by. However if you purchase I wouldn’t exchange any money until you get everything you were promised. Allen I would not be leaving this negative message if you had only followed up on your promise and at least made a phone call. Buyers beware.

Disappointing.. lots of broken promises.
The vehicle that I purchased was as described in the ad, but the salesperson/owner unfortunately is a stereotypical used car salesman; long on commitment and short on delivery. If you're buying from them, my advice is to not do so from another state and pay them to transport it. The first problem presented itself when the vehicle was paid for. The used car salesman said "I can get it to you by this Saturday.. no need to use an outside shipper". Then they received the wire transfer and it became next Saturday. Then it became Sunday at 6am. Then 12pm. Then 230pm and eventually 5pm. It (eventually) arrived with a broken side mirror and no apologies, just "you're lucky I saw it blow off and stopped to pick it up.. you should be able to fix it". It also arrived sans doors and top (it was a classic Jeep). He said he forgot them. It arrived sans title as well.. He then advised that I would need starter fluid each time I try to start the vehicle.. he didn't show me THAT on the video chat showing me the car. Imagine that! The used car salesman then promised to overnight mail the documents and the missing soft top and doors on that Monday. A couple of follow up calls got him off his rear to mail the title on Tuesday, via 3 day mail. He then promised (are you seeing a trend here?) to get the top shipped on Wednesday, "because he had to order a box". On Thursday, he said that he had an employee ship it and would call later with the tracking number. He didn't respond on Friday when I called yet again. He apparently decided that shipping cost too much and that it would be better to work it into his next delivery and to stall the customer long enough to do so. He apparently dropped the missing items off in front of a closed office in a dark parking lot in the early AM. I've yet to receive the information regarding the extended service contract that was also sold with the vehicle, and I don't have high hopes for getting it or for the level of service that may come with it. All in all, if you're there in the room ensuring that the representations made are being honored, they have some cool cars. Just don't expect a great deal of follow through if you aren't there to hold their hands.
