Beware these shady people
I bought a car in October of 2020 at Carmel Auto Gallery. I drove up from Bloomington to make the purchase and put $500 down on the car because they would not take a bankcard payment. Prior to making the purchase, I'd had the car inspected--Firestone pointed out that the car had some issues and Carmel Auto Gallery said they would make the repairs. I drove back up from Bloomington a few days later to complete the purchase and waited, for about an hour, for them to repair the brakes. I had a bad feeling about the whole thing, so I took the car immediately thereafter to Firestone, and they said Carmel Auto Gallery had not, in fact, repaired the brakes. I called CAG and they apologized and said they'd fix them. On my way back up to Carmel, the check engine light came on. When I got there, they said they'd fix the o-ring if I came BACK. That was my third trip. On that third trip, I had to point out to them that I'd paid the $500 deposit and they had not applied it to my purchase: I was then written a $500 check, but it was alarming to me that they had just lost track of this. I sat there for an hour and a half. I explained that my older child was hospitalized in Terre Haute and it was a huge inconvenience, but was assured my car was being fixed. That issue was not fixed. I gave up on CAG and took it to my local Volvo repairman, because I trusted him to do a better job. Lo and behold. I had a feeling recently, because the brakes made a noise, and I took the car back to Firestone for brake inspection. They had never fixed the rotors. Which were in such bad shape, they had chipped the new pads down to the point where they, too, will have to be replaced. So I've now spent $1000 on repairs that I was told would be done prior to my purchasing the car, at a great deal of inconvenience to me (Bloomington to Carmel is an hour and a half drive each way). These are some shady, craven people. I can't even believe they let me come all the way up there three times and sit for an hour while they did nothing. I also can't believe they would let a woman with two children ride around in a car with terrible brakes, KNOWING they hadn't fixed them.

We always encourage our customers to take the car that they are considering to purchase from us for a 3rd party inspections and we are happy to hear that you took advantage of that option. After the inspection indicated issues with brakes and rotors, we discussed with you that we are able to either discount the vehicle or to fix the brakes and rotors issues but that we would not be able to do both. You chose to have the issues fixed by our mechanics. Unfortunately, initially there was a miscommunication between our sales department and our mechanics and only rear brakes were replaced but not the rotors. When you came back for the second time, we DID put in new rear rotors. We have all the necessary paperwork that shows all the repairs that were promised and made on your vehicle. When a used vehicle is purchased, there is always a risk that something might go wrong, and that is why we encourage our customers to purchase an extended warranty, which you did decline when you purchased your vehicle 3 months ago. We welcome you to bring the vehicle back and we will be happy to show you that you, in fact, have brand new rotors, brakes, battery and air sensor installed in your vehicle. Great Service and I felt appreciated.
I highly recommend CAG if you are looking for a pleasant buying experience, Tim Clark, did an excellent job showing us the vehicle I was interested in buying. He also pointed out a minor body incident and we also found another one. GAG did an excellent job in repairing these and had the vehicle ready when promised. Financing was done on site and was easily explained. No pressure at any point in the process and it was the best auto buying experience of my life. I highly recommend Tim and CAG! Well worth the drive from Plainfield.

Transparent with integrity
This is my 2nd review since we bought a 2011 Chevy Cruze. Mustafa, our salesman found out about us having to replace the battery on this new purchase 2 days after we purchased it. Mustafa reached out and stated Carmel Auto Gallery would cover the cost. On top of that a check engine light had also come on and Mustafa said bring the car in and well check it out and make things right. I’m very encouraged by their integrity. We just dropped off the car and left it for them to check for the check engine light issue. We were also given a check to cover the cost of the battery and air filter we purchased. I will follow up with another review once we get the car back. I look forward to giving all 5 stars to this dealership and Mustafa.

2011 Audi A4
James was friendly, helpful and worked hard to make us happy with the car. Which we are. The frustrating part was the unwillingness to negotiate the price at all. Even paying cash, they would not budge on price. We did our homework and car was a fair deal. I asked at one point to cut price by $199 to maintain a shred of dignity. Nevertheless, we lost the $199 and our dignity. We do love the car though.
