Worst new car purchasing experience ever!
Worst new car purchasing experience ever! I've bought about 20 new cars in my lifetime and non come close to this nightmare. I had purchased a 2020 CX-5 from the same dealership 5 1/2 years ago and it was a decent experience so I didn't have any reason to think this would be any different, but was it ever! I gave the second salesperson my list of must haves - 2025 CX-5 mid level trim. 60 mo loan, between $340-390 a mo. Nothing down except my 2020 trade-in. Nothing out of pocket. I wound up buying a "used" 2025 that only had about 280 miles on it that they had taken in as a trade by a lady who wound up buying a higher end trim package. When I accepted their offer the salesperson said my monthly payments and length of loan would be in the range I gave him. When I went to the finance guy, who I believe is named Bobby things came off the rails. He said 84 months to get me in that range. I said that 84 months was never on the table and got up to walk away. He called in someone who I guess was a sales manager or the general sales manager who accused me of "being confused". Bobby then proposed that I give them $1,000 and he could make it work. I grudgingly agreed because by then everything in my CX-5 had been moved into the new one. Then, they REQUIRED that I do a Google review before they would proceed, which I did. I gave them a positive review (since taken down) because I knew a negative one would not fly. Then the finance guy gave me an electronic pen and started going over the 20+ documents, flying through them, not explaining any of them. This was done on a desktop display that was very difficult to read. At the end, they don't hand you any documents. They give you a thumb drive to take home.Only when I got home and opened up the Buyer's Order and the Retail Installment Sales Contract did I see several outrageous charges. To compare them to my purchase of the 2020 CX-5, which came to which came to $84.35 for license fee/lien fees, the new 2025 fees were obscene. $598 for Electronic Registration Filing Fee, $189 for a Private Tag Agency Fee, whatever that is, and finally $!23.85 for a License Fee, totalling about $910 or $825 more. A friend just bought a new Hyundai Tucson from Fitzgerald Hyundai and they charged him $219.35 - $135 for the ERFF and $84.35 for the Tag, Title and Fees. That's what a legitimate dealer charges. Bottom line is everyone I encountered at Westshore didn't act ethically to say the least. It then got worse because when I started calling to speak with someone about the outrageous charges no one would take my calls - not even my first one. I bought the care on June 13. I called on the 17th, explained my concerns & they said they'd have Manny, the General Sales Manager call me back to discuss - no call. I then called on the 18th & spoke with Harmony, who is supposed to be one of their Sales Managers. She listened & said someone would call back - nope! On the 19th I called asking to speak with Karim Adib, the General Manager, spoke with Steven, who said he wasn't available but he'd put a not on Adib's desk asking him to call. No call. I called several other times and got put on hold and then forgotten. I finally left a voicemail for Adib (if they really gave me his mailbox) & said if he didn't call back I was going to notify the BBB and also write honest reviews about what had transpired - no call. To make it right, in my opinion, would be for them to send me a check for $637.50, which would be $910.85 minus $84.35 Tag, LIcense, Registration Fees minus $189 Third Party Tag Agency - another made up charge. They also charged $1,298 for "Predelivery Service Charge" - not a Destination Charges since this was a used car. This was to get ready for sale a car with 280 miles on it that had already had this done at Ferman Mazda, who had sold the car to the lady who had traded it in at Westshore. Absolutely insane! Nothing but greed. Westshore Mazda - just do the right thing - but they won't !!!!

I give a 1 star to the dealership finance department.
I give a 1 star to the dealership finance department. You need to feel that there is integrity, honesty and transparency …I feel I got lot of horse manure.- instead of important information. I believe the time spent signing in the electronic apparatus, could have be a phenomenal time for the finance manager to describe,…or explain- in simple words What you are signing for. It could have been re: maintenance service you get with a lease, and so forth, Im not sure of what was the mistake, and why the problems,… but, it would have been better to have taken responsibility and not blaming any on someone else. You want to think that the company knows … since there’s a claim that this job Is one they do daily.🥴 Why did I proceeded to take this car? Because of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - BRIAN REID -an excellent salesperson and customer service agent. Great personality, Well mannered, a positive attitude,Good communicator, who answered and gave me the information on 3 vehicles - next to each other in their showroom. Compared of similarities and differences among them. It will be a month 6/14 that I drove with this car. One week after and then one week afterward… there was problem where they had to call me to resign paperwork!! ( lack of several things!!)🥴 I tried calling the dealership, with no answer, except the message to “‘record your message”.’ I will then contact Brian and he was always ready to rescue, direct calls etc And making things happened. I am so greatful for his diligence.!! I wish him a bucket full of success and hope that his GM is aware of this persons Value!!! I have long ways in dealing with this Mazda dealership. ( I choose to be hopeful…?!!) There is a list in my book of several things that need to happen in that financing department, that are a must! In order to make this experience a happy one, to other customers. Thank you! Coral H Latimer

I I am very disappointed in these people.
I I am very disappointed in these people. I bought a I bought a used 2022 Lexus and the agreed upon price was 36,500 and the agreed amount for my trade in was 16,000. Unfortunately, the day I went to pick up the car, I did not bring my glasses and when the price was explained to me I said that is not what we agreed on and Jalen said he would correct it... I trusted him to change it and i signed it. I received the financing paper work and I paid $5,000 more then agreed on. When contacting the management, they are not helpful at all. Beware... these are not honest people to deal with

I went in this morning to look at a 2023 Volkswagen
I went in this morning to look at a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan SE. The sales associate who I spoke with was friendly (especially to my two children), polite, knowledgeable, and honest. When it came time to run numbers however, his supervisors came back with a frankly insulting trade in offer for my car, even after being informed that I already had trade in offers from other dealerships. The offer they have me was $2000 under the KBB trade in value for my car (for fair condition). On top of that, their dealership fees are almost $3000. That's twice what most of the dealership fees in the Tampa Bay area are. I explained that I wasn't willing to take less than the KBB value for my car, and made them reminded them that I would be paying for the vehicle in cash. The sales associate asked what my "commitment offer" was on the car, meaning how much was I willing to pay for the car including all tax and tags and fees, and commit to buying the car that day. This is not my first or second or even third time buying a car. I have negotiated with multiple dealerships that have been willing to either offer more for the trade, reduce their own fees, or offer a discount on the list price of the car. It's not uncommon at all, especially for a cash offer. I was also prepared for them to come back and simply say "I'm sorry we can't take that offer." Instead, the supervisor came out and proceeded to ask me where I was coming up with the number I had given (basically insinuating that I couldn't do basic math). Including the increased trade in offer that I asked for, there was still about a $2000 different between the final sale price they had listed and my offer. I absolutely understand that taking that money off the list price or out of the fees cuts into their profit. But the Tiguan is a very common vehicle, with several other comparable vehicles available for sale in the area. And again, their dealer fees alone(which are already upcharged at any dealership) were twice that of most others in the area. They could have simply said no thank you. Instead, this supervisor treated me like I was dumb, repeatedly asking me how I was getting that number. When I had finally had enough and told him I was done and was no longer interested, he acted like he didn't understand. The sales associate was still perfectly friendly and helped me carry my daughters carseat to my car. As we were getting ready to to leave, he pulled me aside and said that his general manager had heard the whole conversation, and he was willing to sell the car for $500 less than the offer I gave. But at that point I felt so insulted and disrespected, I said I'm sorry but I'm just not interested. I will never consider buying from this dealership and I urge you to make sure you know the value of your car before you take it to them so you don't accept an unfairly low offer.

Sales staff never made us feel like a priority, only a burden on their time, and did not communicate updates on our car for days. Told them to eat the reconditioning fee of $3k, I expect to drive home a clean car and that's the cost of doing business as a car dealership. Wish I'd followed my gut and left before buying a car.

I wish we had never bought a car at this place.
I wish we had never bought a car at this place. And I wish I had read the reviews about Manny the sales Manager before We bought. He is what gives car sales a bad reputation. Manipulating the prices in a back room. I personally did not get any return calls when I called. They did not give us all the paperwork on the financing. Quoted us one price and financed a higher amount when we refused to put any more money down since they pocketed our previous deposit. Just down right lieing and manipulative sales tactics. I would not ever send anyone to that place to buy a car.

It's a zero star.
It's a zero star. Disappointing Experience: Misleading Prices, Financing Pressure, Poor Transparency I recently had a very frustrating experience at Westshore Mazda that I feel compelled to share. My wife and I were excited to purchase a vehicle, and we made it clear from the beginning that we had a pre-approved loan from our bank. Despite this, the dealership tried to trick us toward their financing options, which raised immediate red flags. It felt like a blatant attempt to deceive us into financing through them, even after we had explicitly stated our intentions. The vehicle was listed at $22,594. When we were presented with the invoice, I was shocked to see a total of $32,608.13—a staggering difference from the advertised price. While I understand there are additional costs like taxes, tags, and filing fees, the dealership was adding hidden fees that were not disclosed upfront. Throughout the process, the manager was dismissive of our concerns and continued to pressure us into accepting their terms. This experience has left us feeling frustrated and distrustful of Westshore Mazda. I strongly advise potential buyers to proceed with caution. There are plenty of dealerships that value transparency and honesty—sadly, Westshore Mazda is not one of them. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere!

I recently had a highly disappointing experience at Westshore Mazda. We clearly communicated from the start that we had a pre-approved loan from our bank. Despite this, the dealership tried to steer us toward their financing options, which immediately raised our suspicions. In fact I took a photo of the invoice with the name of the salesperson, the manager & the financing options that they were cunningly trying to push. It was a blatant attempt to deceive us into using their financing, even after we made our intentions clear, While I understand there are additional costs such as taxes and fees, we were shocked to discover hidden charges that were not disclosed upfront. When we received the final invoice, it revealed an outrageous total that was $10,000 more than the listed price! This lack of transparency is not only incredibly frustrating but also unethical. Overall, our experience at Westshore Mazda left us feeling misled and disappointed. I strongly urge potential buyers to be cautious and consider other dealerships that value honesty and transparency. Save yourself the trouble—look elsewhere!
