Never though getting a car was so easy , Tony and his...

Never though getting a car was so easy , Tony and his staffs help so fast with in minutes was approved for my car , paperwork was so fast and i also got my car the same day . also he’s helping me to refinance my car now and it been also so fast . 2016 Civic - A/C concern

We purchased this car in July 2018 from the DCH group. In September 2018 (I've owned the car for 3 months...) the A/C condenser failed and was replaced under warranty at DCH Honda of Nanuet. In June 2019 (9 months later) the A/C condenser failed again. As the warranty had expired; I was made to pay DCH Honda of Nanuet for A/C condenser #3 to be installed in a car I had owned for less than a year. In March of 2020 (9 months later) the A/C system failed again. A/C condenser #4 was installed - and now covered under warranty as Honda realized there was an A/C condenser problem. (Note; In February of 2020 I was reimbursed by Honda for the June 2019 condenser repair expense; but only because I stumbled on the 'recall' program information myself. Honda did not contact me) Despite four (4) A/C condensers - the A/C system has never been strong. To replace the A/C condenser the system is evacuated of pressure and refrigerant A vacuum is pulled and confirmed to eliminate moisture - harmful to components, Oil is added to protect components - especially the compressor. Finally the system is charged with freon. This process is obviously disruptive and invasive to the entire system and not intended to happen multiple times in less than two years to any vehicle. Here we are in July of 2020 and the A/C system has failed again. The fourth A/C failure in a car I have owned for exactly two years. This time it's the compressor that has suffered and DCH Honda of Nanuet has quoted me $1,800.00 to repair. The DCH Honda of Nanuet service manager claims the A/C compressor failure is not related to, in any way connected with, or the result of the other THREE (3) A/C system failures, tear downs and repairs. How can an honest mechanic review the short history of this cars A/C problems and suspect failure of an A/C compressor in this situation could not be related? I have lost count of how many times this car has been taken to DCH Honda of Nanuet service for A/C concerns, picked up un-repaired waiting for parts, brought back again, picked up again... Ten trips? Twelve? It is being picked up again today - un-repaired. The nose of the car needs to be removed to replace the condenser. One time I had to return the car to the dealer as the nose was put back on crooked and had to be reinstalled properly. Our investment of time and resources in this regard are significant and ridiculous. We have yet to enjoy a Summer season with adequate or uninterrupted A/C in this car. A Honda Representative is being contacted for some type of review. How anything less than a complete repair can be offered without charge would be shocking. Stay tuned......

Pete, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We're sorry to hear your experience with us did not meet our five-star standard. After looking into this further we see that you only had 2 A/C condensers. The first one was replaced on 9/6/18 and covered by your Honda Certified Warranty. The second one was replaced 6/4/19 under the Goodwill Honda repair. We see that you only paid 25% of the repair. We know that the A/C Condenser is okay but you now have an issue with the compressor. The dealer has now offered to replace the A/C compressor at cost which is half the price you were quoted. Unfortunately, Honda has declined any assistance due to the car having over 100k miles on it. Unacceptable. I have owned this car for less than two years. It was purchased with 55,000 miles on it. Over the next 50,000 miles the AC has failed four times. Three of those times I have receipts from your dealership referencing condenser failure. A fourth failure is being called compressor failure and out of warranty. I have been waiting almost 2 weeks for the new compressor to arrive. The AC in this car has truly been non-functional for more time than it has been functional. Repairs at cost sounds generous until you are told it will cost $1100. This repeat failure of a system should be covered without cost. I remain an unhappy customer.

Efficient and courteous throughout the entire process

My experience at Honda of Nanuet exceeded all my expectations. First, during my phone call with Mrs. Christine Keough and Haleema Asif, then the insurmountable attention of Mr. Frank Acosta, who kindly not only made my decision more certain and comfortable, but he extended his service and kind attention even after closing, showing his excellent knowledge of all the features of the model, making sure I had the necessary information before leaving with the car. Also the kind dedication of Mr. Mike Ehirim to ensure that I understand each of the documents involved in the agreement and even carefully advising on various aspects during the closure. This was an unbeatable experience. 5 Stars, NO DOUBT !

Getting a used car
