to not have to write this over again, this is the email i sent another dealership in my area : only thing i didn't mention in this email is after a year, only a year after purchasing a "new" 2008 charger with 3,000 miles on it, the breaks went out and they charged me a $1000 to replace it. how do break go out in a year?!! that wasn't even the worst of my experience at sherman, read on.... I am reaching out to your location in hopes of hopefully getting a better experience than the ones I've had with sherman dodge. I bought a 2008 charger from that location, and even after receiving sub par service, went back to that dealership in hopes of purchasing a 2011 dodge charger se. i hate to write a long email, but i was treated very rudely by the management staff at this store. when i originally went to sherman dodge in 2008, i was appalled at how arrogant and condescending the manager i dealt with was, not to mention rude. the sales person was ok, but me being from the sales and customer service industry myself, i am a more of a knowledgable consumer than most. in other words, i know how the sales environment works, as i am a retail manager my self. that doesn't give a manager of any type of location the right to talk down to a customer. going on, my sales person, after days of negotiating to close me on the price i saw on the dealer website!(the fact i was patient for this process should tell you how my experience was), made it sound like i was getting things included with my car for free(a "special" paint and "special anti theft system) which i actually ended up paying more for which i found out during the payment process, as the total price on a 18,000 purchase after tax title license was 24000! i asked the cashier to explain why it was so high, and he said because i was purchasing "extra" equipement that turned out to be the items that the sales person was painting as included in the price i was paying. after getting "conned", i still wanted to give this dealership a shot since i like to stay loyal. my last visit was the last straw. i saw a price of 21,995 for a 2011 dodge charger on autotrader that actually showed a sherman dodge price! after i finally meet back up with my sales person from 3 years ago, he gives me some bs that 25,000 is the best price he can give me on one, and the price on autotrader is if i was in the military and worked for ups, since, according to him " a lot of our customers are in the military and work for ups, which is why we have that price on the website". finally after some more negotiating, the price was brought down to 22,900 and was presented as if they were doing me a favor. the last straw was the manager telling me it was impossible for me to get a white charger because of, and i quote him "some shortage in japan"... i told this manager that i really had my heart set on a white one, and he looks at me with a disgusted and arrogant face and tells me "well good luck, because you arent' going to find any white ones till at least next January"... really? that's how you treat a customer? i'm telling you, me being a manager myself, and thankfully a much better one than this guy, would never treat a customer like that. finally, as I'm leaving, the other sales guy that was assisting me looked embarrassed for his managers actions, and kindly told me "i'm sorry for that, but we'll take care of you. come back to sherman dodge, we should have some by tuesday, don't go any where else, we'll take care of you." at least this guy was trying to be nice, or atleast did a good job of pretending like he cared about me. and once again this location let me down and i've finally had it. that was last thursday and i have yet to get a call back from this dealership. i actually had to call myself today, and my sales person told me there were 3! my question is , why didn't he proactively contact me?! i actually called him 2 times today, and each time he tells me he'll get back to me in half an hour?! it's obvious these guys don't know how to do business, as i've yet to hear back from him. I've never received as poor service as i've received from sherman dodge. i was also looking at a camaro recently to keep my options open, and honestly to put a long story short about this experience, the chevy dealership guys have treated me like a customer is supposed to be treated. i would hate to miss out on purchasing the car i really want to purchase because of lack of customer service, and go with a chevy camaro instead, which right now is my second choice after the 2011 charger. which brings me to you guys. i wanted to find a dodge dealership that would take care of me, and after doing research you guys have pretty good reviews and are dealer rater certified. i'm trying to remain loyal to dodge because i love the charger. It boggles my mind how i proactively reached out to sherman dodge , even after my initial mediocre experience, and i was still treated poorly. all i want is a white 2011 dodge charger se at atleast the price i see on autotrader, 21,995. i am not looking to trade because i am selling my 2008 charger to my brother, and i am looking to purchase in full. i have worked hard to save up money for this new model, and i hope you guys are able to provide me with the good customer experience that sherman failed so horrible in executing. thank you.

Thye dont answer any questions about pricing. They gave me a dirty car because it was a saturday night and all of there porters were already sent home for the night which is not typical of any dealership, If there are still customers then they always keep atleast one porter until all customers have left for the night. They also gave me a car with an empty gas tank! This place is ridiculous! I will never use this dealership ever again and would NOT recommend Sherman Dodge to anyone!

plz dont buy your car here at sherman dodge in skokie il. i would rather spend thousands more at another dealership for safety and for class of service, they dont know the 1st meaning of any of that. they dont care, and they lie to steal more money out of your pockets greedy greedy. the finance guy charged us BIG MONEY FOR A WARANTY WE DIDNT EVEN ASK FOR WE WANTED BUMPER TO BUMPER AND HE SOLD US A WARRANTY JUST FOR ENGINE AND TRANS.???THEY DONT LISTEN THEY DONT CALL YOU BACK AND WHEN THEY DO THEY DONT HELP YOU OUT IN ANY WAY. WE WERE RIPPED OFF IN MANY WAYS THIS ONE WAS THE TOPPER...I JUST WANTED A NICER EXPERIENCE. WHAT HAPPEND TO NICE PEOPLE???

Walked in to get a brand new Jeep Patriot. Knew exactly what car I wanted but it wasn't in stock. Got to test drive lower end model, all good. Meanwhile worked on the deal. Let's just say they came about 1/3 down off the sticker price (amazing). However, don't expect to get this deal unless you have great credit or lots of money in the bank (I have the 1st, not the 2nd). Excellent credit is my barganing power, plus I'm in Sales myself so I have a good handle on these things. Keith (my Salesman) wrote down all the options I wanted on the car, said he had a car someplace that he can get to me in a couple of days. I signed the paperwork (NO TRICKS on their end in the finance office, smooth sailing with the monthly payment as promised by the Salesman and manager Tony upfront). Turns out Keith made an honest mistake and got me a vehicle that didn't have one of the options I specifically requested. No prob. They tried for 2 days to find my exact car, when they couldn't they specially ordered it. 2 days later a close by dealership got the exact car I wanted. Sherman went out of their way to purchase that car from them, I came in and got the same deal they voided from a few days ago. NO TRICKS, no strings, no bull sh!t. I was up front with them (told them how I like to do business and I don't like to be crossed) and they were up front with me. They ALWAYS answered my numerous calls and called me back exactly when they said they were going to call. I never had to wait around. Great Customer Service. Keith (Salesman) was great. He took his time (and for a Salesman that's almost unheard of) and he didn't try to "get rid of me" when stuff got more complicated.

I SHOULD HAVE READ ALL THE REVIEWS ABOUT THIS DEALERSHIP BEFORE GOING IN. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! THEY CLAIM YOURE APPROVED BUT DONT ACTUALLY RUN YOUR CREDIT UNTIL YOU GET TO THE PLACE. AFTER BELIEVING THAT SCAM I CALLED IN TO GIVE AN OFFER TO A CAR WHICH THE SALES MAN PUT ME ON HOLD TO CHECK WITH HIS GENERAL MANAGER ON MY OFFER. CAME BACK TO THE PHONE AND SAID THEY ACCEPTED MY OFFER. I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP WITHIN 15 MINUTES. SO THATS WHEN I CAME TO KNOW THAT 1)I REALLY WASNT APPROVED 2)MY OFFER WAS NOT BROUGHT TO THE GEN MANAGER FOR APPROVAL AND 3)THE SAME CAR I CAME FOR WAS THERE BUT THEY CONTINUALLY LIED AND SAID THAT WASNT THE CAR EVEN WHEN IT WAS THE EXACT SAME CAR AND THE ONLY CAR OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL THEY HAD ON THE LOT! NOTHING BUT LIARS AND SCAM ARTIST EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! OH AND MY OFFER THAT I PUT IN ON THE CAR THEY FINALLY SAID THEY ACCEPTED BUT THEY TRIED TO GET ME WITH OVER $10,000 FINANCING! THEY REEEEEALLLY THINK EVERYONE IS DUMB! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!

Lanny was a terrific sales person. He was very helpful and answered all our questions very thoroughly. We felt the price we paid was very competitive. Everyone at Sherman Dodge was friendly and helpful. Our overall experience was very positive not high pressure and stressful as car buying can be. We would reccommend Sherman Dodge and Lanny to our friends.

I have had some very disappointing trips back and forth...
I have had some very disappointing trips back and forth to dealerships, all with the same outcome, negative. My credit is not good, but not horrible and I needed a car. I called Sherman Dodge because of an ad in the paper I saw, I spoke with a customer service rep. named Steve, he was knowledgeable and very helpful. He set me up with an appointment with the VIP manager, Mike Kuhn, when I got there I can not believe how quickly everything was expedited. They did not tell me a bunch of lies and I drove home in my Dodge Caliber. I would highly recommend this dealership for any of your car needs, and I will be back for my next car as well. I was very please with the service when I went in i was with the VIP manager he made me feel real comfortable and offered me refreshments. The salesperson was very friendly he worhed really hard to get me financed i was pleased with the price of the car and I got a reasonable monthly payment.

I went in to buy a pre-owned vehicle because i didn't have much money to spend. Turned out that with little money I had and the car I was driving I was able to purchase a BRAND NEW 2010 Jeep Commander AND keep my payments close to what they were. Ryan, the guy I spoke to on the phone, was very helpful and had a very relaxed and calm voice which made him seem like he was on my side. Jose, My sales person, got me in and out of the dealership quick and painlessly. Thanks Sherman Dodge and I'll see you when i come back for any oil change
