Browns has always had a great reputation and my first experience purchasing a car there this week holds true to that. Both Rich my salesman and Charlie the finance manager were patient, accommodating and make you feel welcomed. They were fair and matched exactly what I wanted. Their location is a bit of a distance from me, but well worth the trip.

*BEWARE OF EXTRA REPAIRS AND QUADRUPLE BILL ESCALATION- THIS BUSINESS PREYS ON THE ELDERLY* On 10/19/2022 my 80 year old mother went for an oil change service on her Jeep, she was approached by Steven Shen with details of an oil leak that was found and quoted that the repair would cost $500 dollars. She asked for a discount and was offered 10%. She agreed to the repair. Upon pickup, which was delayed by the dealership after promising the work would only take a few hours, she was shocked to learn that the bill had increased to $2,195 dollars and many undiscussed and unauthorized services had been done to her vehicle, several of which were unnecessary as they had already recently been performed elsewhere. My mother attempted to dispute the extra charges but was forced to pay the bill as she needed her vehicle returned to her possession for important doctors appointments. When we went the next day to dispute these extra charges with Steven Shen, we were blatantly lied to with claims that he had gone thru every item on the list of charges and had gotten her authorization. We will be disputing these charges with the credit card company and have records to prove many of these repairs were not needed. Shame on this dealership for attempting to take advantage of an elderly woman with such grossly unethical and fraudulent business practices. The public should be warned to get quotes of work they authorize in writing so as not to be taken advantage of in this way.

Jennifer, thank you for letting us know that your mother was faced with a higher bill then expected when she picked up her vehicle. Our Service Manager connected with your mother and reviewed the bill, charges, and work done on her vehicle. And did find a miss charge on the bill and resolved it. False claims!! Absolutely not resolved!! That phone call accomplished nothing. The only thing my mother should have been charged for was the oil change and oil leak, the oil leak costing $528 plus the 10% discount and the oil change, another $80, period! When told this during that conversation, the manager said he would get back to my mother next week. Nothing has been refunded or resolved. This dealership still owes my mother $1,600 and has been reported to the Better Business Bureau.

I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO THEM BUT UNFORTUNATLEY THEY ARE THE ONLY SERVICE STATION WHO WORKS ON FIAT'S. SO DISSAPOINTED. BEING CALLED SWEETIE, IS SO RUDE. IF I HAD A MAN WITH ME I GUARANTEE THIS WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. IT MAKES SUCH A BIG DIFFERNCE WHN BUYING A CAR, WHEN THE SERVICE IS SO AWFUL. THEY ASKED ME IF I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THEM, REALLY?? YES! I AM AT THERE MERCY AND IT IS A HORRIBLE FEELING. I HAD TO THEM ONE STAR, OR THIS REVIEW COULDN'T BE SUBMITTED! JOKE!

Browns service department is actually concerning.
Browns service department is actually concerning. I dropped off my car under warranty. Every time I call The service advisor is busy and claims will call back but he never does. 3 calls In one day is my record, I’m sure you’ll beat it. I had to ask for a manager or supervisor before finally being taken serious enough to speak to said “advisor”. While speaking to him he notifies me that I need parts that are on back order. He won’t know if he can get them till next week. I reply so I could be out of a car for a month, he responds hard to say! This is my only car and losing it for a period that long is kinda devastating. Luckily I’m mechanically inclined and know exactly where to look for said “backordered parts” I called Mullens parts department out of southold. They have 21 of the “back ordered parts” sitting on their shelves. 21! “BACK ORDERED PARTS!” awaiting to be torqued into my car. So why exactly am I waiting a week for parts that are 25 miles down the road from Browns? I’d even be happy enough to go pick them up for you if it means I can have my car finished in a suitable time frame. Seeing how it’s only a two hour service job. My car would have been fixed by now if I’d done the job myself. Guess that’s not how warranty’s work though. But would have saved me the headache from this nightmare. I’m honestly worried about them doing internal engine work to my vehicle after reading some other reviews. If it wasn’t currently disassembled I’d pick it up and take it to another dealership. Fingers crossed it doesn’t come to that. Someone from the management department please help me 😫

Finance is slimy
I had the worst experience here as well! I’ve bought a 2021 Chrysler Jeep on February 24, 2022 and one month later march 24, 2022 Steve F from financing calls me to tell me he made a mistake on the paperwork and didn’t review it before We signed it and I owed them an additional $5000. Steve F the finance manager said I needed to come down right away and re-sign a brand new contract and pay them $5000. In the beginning of the conversation, Steve admitted his fault by not reviewing the paperwork and blamed it on the software stating that the computer said one set of numbers and the print out had another, but since he didn't read it, nor did anyone else, he didn't catch it. When I disagreed with that he then called me to tell me Brown’s would meet me halfway with $2500. I still said no. Then I realized when I started really looking through the paperwork that they added an additional thousand dollars to my original selling price. When I brought this up to Steve F he told his GM and magically they were willing to go down to $1500. This is complete craziness!Again I told them absolutely NOT going to do it! All of the paperwork was signed and done. Steve gave me the key and I drove away. Why would the finance manager give me the keys if I owed the dealership $5000? I have the title and my payments have even started with the bank. Since then they have been harassing me and now they are threatening to take me to court.
