Excellent pressure free sales staff
Gabe was knowledgeable, thoughtful, patient and pressure-free and it was clear that he enjoyed Subarus. He was an excellent representative of the carmaker and the dealer. He shares his knowledge in an easy to appreciate, laid back style and is very active on a test-drive, demonstrating how the features are a real benefit. I've been on so many test drives where the salesman will announce a feature, but doesn't make the effort to show you how to use it, or how it is even worth having. This is definitely not the case with Gabe. After the test drive, we were impressed with the features and performance of the Outback 2.5i, but didn't feel comfortable buying the car knowing that there was the same vehicle available with a larger engine, and in a color that I wanted (Outback 3.6R in black). Even though we weren't sold on buying before test driving the Outback they didn't have in inventory, Gabe had a purchase price worked out for us. The document was easy to read and clearly stated prices and terms and there were none of the high-pressure tactics common at other dealers. The terms were very fair and when we were about to leave - without purchasing the car, Gabe asked us to hold on just a moment while he spoke with a business manager - and not in a schmoozy, smarmy way. In the end, they made us an offer that was hard to refuse and gave us a few hours to consider it. We left Brown's impressed with the vehicle, Gabe and the dealershipl. After test driving other cars that afternoon, we ended up at Brown's at the end of the day and decided to buy the Subaru 2.5R, even without test driving the 3.6i. There was a lot of paperwork involved and knowing we had an evening commitment, Brown's let us come back the next day to make the actual purchase. Gabe gave us a thorough review of the manuals - and there are quite a few of them; and James was fantastic helping us through the actual purchase. He presented an upgrade (pre-paid service package) that made financial sense without feeling like a tacky upsell, and he thoroughly reviewed the intricacies and advantages of the leasing process. He was very good at getting us through the financial paperwork - expect a lot of that.
