I had a disappointing experience at Automatch in Orem.
I had a disappointing experience at Automatch in Orem. I provided a $3,500 down payment for a car and applied for financing. I told them upfront that my credit score might not qualify because of recent major purchases, but they assured me they could ‘figure something out. Before submitting the loan application, I expressed my concerns about my credit history and the likelihood of loan approval. The dealership staff assured me that they could make the financing work, so I proceeded. Later, I was informed that my loan application was denied, and I was told I would need a co-signer. I left the dealership with the understanding that no further action had been finalized, and I did not take possession of the vehicle. When I requested my down payment back, I was told it was non-refundable. Later, I reviewed the contract and noticed there might have been a 14-day window for refunds in cases where financing wasn’t secured, but this wasn’t explained clearly at the time. By the time I understood this, it was too late to act. I went twice to the dealership and tried to reach out to the dealership multiple times by phone, but I was told the general manager wasn’t available. Eventually, he called me and said it was too late to do anything about my refund. I hope others are cautious when working with this dealership, as my experience felt misleading and unfair.
