Genesis of Albany

Our experience at Genesis was an extremely good one. From the moment's we entered the door we were warmly received and treated with utmost respect and kindness. The staff was very professional, our salesman Farhan was exceptional. It was a pleasure doing business with him and this dealership.

This dealeship was so nice to work with. Farhan was a pleasure. He was honest and straight forward with information we needed and made the process of buying a car a positive experience. It sounds like service will be just as positive.

The service department is excellent; very hospitable, competent, and accommodating. The fact that the dealership is relatively local (i.e., capital region) and not in the north country (i.e., Queensbury), is most preferable.

My daughter found her dream car online, so I emailed the dealership. Immediately, I made clear that we needed the car on August 17 at 10 AM. The day before, they asked me to come at 1 PM, at which point I informed them that that was not possible and I would’ve been more adaptable had they not waited until the day before. To be nice, we gave them an extra hour and arrived at 11. It’s been 120 minutes, the car is still not ready, and we haven’t even been presented with papers. But even worse is the fact that the car has 1000 more miles than was listed and about 10 to 15 dents and scratches. Plus something falling off the undercarriage. Nowhere online and at no point during my hours of conversations with the dealership did this come up. I explained that this is not the car that we agreed upon — and the sales manager’s response was that we could leave because he wouldn’t be fixing anything and would only be offering “a couple hundred dollars” back. Not to mention that the communication has been mediocre, at best, from the beginning; he is the only one manager for this huge dealership — and he is incapable of responding in due time, keeping his own story straight, or treating with respect people who’ve already put down a deposit. I would never recommend this dealership, and certainly not for a used car. And if this is supposedly a luxury dealership, why don’t they have any idea how to treat their leads and customers? Why would they prefer to lose a potential customer — who has three other cars and drivers — instead of investing just a bit more money to provide the car that was originally offered online? This could be called false advertising; it’s definitely extraordinarily poor customer experience. My daughter is absolutely devastated. She’s been obsessing about this car for weeks, and has probably never been more excited about anything in her entire life.

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a vehicle from Genesis of Albany, and I must say, the experience was exceptional, thanks to Olivia Sanger. Olivia was incredibly helpful and attentive. She had extensive knowledge of the Genesis GV80 3.5L I was interested in. Olivia made the entire process smooth and stress-free. She answered all my questions. What can I say - I had a great experience in buying my GV80 - I can’t even believe I’m saying that - but I am, and IT WAS! I live in Fairfield County, Connecticut … I traveled 130 miles to buy from a dealership in Albany NY … another good decision. Olivia was supported by a number of colleagues that assured my experience was a good one …. No ifs, buts about it. Love my GV80, and happy I bought it at Genesis of Albany (NY), and Olivia Sanger.

The dealership, especially Farhan Akbari, have been extremely welcoming and helpful! Farhan explained so much of how the car worked and the various options. He stayed late with me on my the first visit so that I had the opportunity to fully understand the car. I really appreciate the way I was made to feel quite comfortable.
