Took my Camry for an oil change.

Took my Camry for an oil change. They told me my belt tensioner was bad $450.00 for the part plus labor. I bought a new one myself for $111.00 and when I took the one off the car that they said was bad. Was nothing wrong with it. Don’t buy anything from these crooks!!! They will SCREW you to death!

Dealer response

Mr. Weimhold, I'm sorry you feel this way and surely can call me anytime to discuss this but here are the facts as I know them. Upon hearing of your complaint that you thought the tensioner was fine, you were invited in so that we can get together with the tech and service manager to listen to the noise that the tensioner was making that drew the technicians attention. You arrived at the dealership but without the car. You did have in your possession the bad tensioner by itself apparently attempting to fix the problem yourself. At that point with the service manager and 2 technicians, they were able to spin the tensioner and produce the noisy sound. You still didn't think there was anything wrong with the tensioner but according to the technicians, the tensioner should hardly make a sound at all. You disagreed and left. These technicians undergo hundreds of hours of education, achieve many different certifications and work on thousands of vehicles on an everyday basis. I am sorry you disagree with these very talented and educated technicians. They are not crooks. We don't need to be crooks as we have plenty of business to do. If you would like to discuss further don't hesitate to call me personally. Joe Cardello Managing Partner/GM 816-454-8999

I am extremely disappointed with this dealer.

I am extremely disappointed with this dealer. I went to buy a car and after going over some cars I decided to buy one. Then after the car arrived, I went to the finance department to sign papers and go over some discounts that they were offering me and made me believe that I was getting an excellent deal but they never told me that there was a warranty that costs 2,500. I signed everything and a few days later going over all the paperwork I noticed the 2,500. I called the dealer, left a message for the finance lady who helped me and also called the salesman twice left a message the first time for him and also spoke with him directly the second time I called. He promised me he was going to send a message to her so she can call me. Not even out of courtesy did she call me. I called the seller again and left him a message telling him that I had not received a call from her and so far after 2 weeks I have not received even a courtesy call from him or her to explain the extra 2,500. Of course, when they wanted me to buy the car, then he was in constant communication with me.

Carlos.....I am so sorry about your experience here. We do appreciate your business and want you to be happy with your purchase. After checking our call logs I do show that Rena has reached out to you by phone. I also show the menu that was presented to you in Finance that clearly states the products you agreed to purchase and I also have your signature on that menu. I also have a separate form for the warranty that you have signed that fully explains the warranty and the provisions of the warranty. Then, I have the Final Acceptance that shows that you declined the GAP coverage but accepted the warranty coverage. We try to be very clear on our products when explaining them to customers. Your complaint is very rare for us. But don't worry....if you are having second thoughts about the products you purchased we can just cancel the coverages. Please call me to discuss this option. Joe Cardello, General Manager. 816-454-8999

Terrible experience at jay wolf Toyota service.

Terrible experience at jay wolf Toyota service. Brought in my 2021 4Runner for a sensor issue & was given the runaround by service manager Ryan. They never provided me with a quote or even tried to help me. I purchased the extended 100k bumper to bumper warranty which apparently isn’t really bumper to bumper at all! After speaking with Ryan he said”we are at an impasse so just come & get your car”. I’m shocked & disheartened at the interaction. I’m not sure if jay wolf treats all customers this way, or just women. Either way, we won’t be back!!!

BEWARE OF BAD BUSINESS - A DEALERSHIP WILL MAKE OR BREAK

BEWARE OF BAD BUSINESS - A DEALERSHIP WILL MAKE OR BREAK THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. THIS DEALERSHIP FAILED, AGAIN. Paid cash for my Tacoma. Love the product and the brand however, this dealership is running into the ground. Other than one person that will tell you the "sugar coated" truth (Thank you, Sonny. - not on employee lists) I am appalled at any Toyota service department that does NOT have tech's that properly know how to operate a scan tool. Tech 101, right?! Even after demonstrating the SOS record and recreating the fault while showing the service desk rep. (shaking my head). Wasted 3+ hours at Jay Wolfe Toyota that another dealership was able to immediately identify the issue of 'lack of ECM & system flash updates' that were needed. We have had this vehicle serviced here since the purchase , and never update the software?!...in three years??!! Had the experience of my vehicle coming out of service with loose bolts to where the bumper almost fell off. Frustrated but professional, we were done and departed the dealership. While exiting, the GM and/or owner was frustrated because of me calling out bad service, got in his full size SUV and nearly hit us and other costumers without stopping, driving towards the rear of the dealership. He's lucky. That's all I have to say about that. Anyway people....exercise extreme caution going to Jay Wolfe Toyota, or...Just don't go. The "Service" & other departments will work your pocket book while performing questionable work on your vehicle(s). (we have called the B.A.R. on this dealership). The GM and/or owner(s) are crooks! They have cheap suits that look like used car/shoe salesmen with little hair enough to say they have bad hair. We will continue to log complaints digitally while spreading the word about these dishonesty, unqualified poorly dressed small men wannabe "corporate" management idiots. DO NOT GO TO: Jay Wolfe Toyota. I'm sure Toyota Corporate will help them find a better way of conducting business. BEWARE OF BAD BUSINESS AT JAY WOLFE TOYOTA.

Trusted Mike Mansour to honor his offer for my trade in.

Trusted Mike Mansour to honor his offer for my trade in. He told me that my car was "mis-aligned" and would have to be sold at an auction and reduced my offer by $1000. I just checked their website and low and behold my trade in is listed on their website for $9000 more than I was paid. Bad business practices going on here for sure.

I wasted my time working a deal, only for them to refuse

I wasted my time working a deal, only for them to refuse selling me a vehicle unless I purchased a $399 window treatment. V told me they FORCE everyone to purchase this treatment. They lost a deal and a future customer bc I wouldn't let them builly me into buying their treatment. Typical slimey car dealer behavior.

On 4/11 I put down a deposit on a new RAV4 Hybrid after

On 4/11 I put down a deposit on a new RAV4 Hybrid after being told these are hard to get, but by putting money down I was guaranteed to be able to purchase it when it became available in June. On 5/15 I get an e-mail (not even a call) saying that the vehicle was double sold (really?) and I could buy a different one in a color I did not want. The salesman said he could find me the same car with similar features but the base price was now $500 more. He said this was non-negotiable. Finally, after arguing with the general manager, the manager said they could honor the agreed-upon price. Then 2 days later he tells me that the vehicle will now not me available until late July. When I asked him why my original car was sold out from under me, the only answer he had is "I don't know." What was the point of the deposit if they can ignore it and sell the car out from under me.

I put a $500 deposit down on a vehicle, being promised

I put a $500 deposit down on a vehicle, being promised that it was reserved for me to purchase when the dealership received it. A month later I received an e-mail (not even a call) stating that my car was double sold but they would try to find me a similar one. I later received an e-mail with a new window sticker for a vehicle close to what I had reserved, but the base price is now $500 more than what we agreed on. The salesman said he can not match the price we previously agreed on. I am wary of the bait-and-switch. I honestly do not know if they made an honest mistake and somehow did not enter the sale into their inventory system or if this was part of their plan, Either way, I should not have to pay for their mistake. I asked for a manager to call but have not heard anything. I would like for them to honor our original agreement, but if they refuse then I need my deposit back.

I will never go to Jay Wolfe Toyota again.

I will never go to Jay Wolfe Toyota again. I do not ever leave bad reviews, even if needed, but my service there was horrible. It started with being told I needed to put a down payment down because there was several people looking at the same car, and that if I did the car would be there the next Tues or Wednesday, 8 days away. At that time Toyota wanted to finance me and I told them I had my own bank to use. I was talking to the salesman through email and he listed out a few things I needed to do using my own bank. Fast forward a month and a half, after being told weekly the car would be there soon. I got a text from the salesman saying my car was there. He asked about my financing, knowing I had my own bank. I specifically told him not to run my credit again. 10 mins went by and I got a notification on my phone saying he did anyway! He texted me saying the Sales Manager Mike Mansour insisted that I HAD to finance through Toyota to buy a new car from Jay Wolfe. After arguing with Mike about the deal already being done, he finally called back saying I could use my own bank. But then when I got there Mike even stopped me in the building and still insisted that was their policy. I finally got it through that I was using my own bank. While signing the paperwork, they told me I could do 2 oil changes at a different location, but ALL warranty work HAD to be done at Jay Wolfe. Later I talked to another Toyota dealer and found out they were LYING about the loan having to be through Toyota, that even on new cars I could finance it through any bank, not just Toyota, and that any warranty work could be done at ANY Toyota dealership. I understand they need to make their money, but Jay Wolfe has no care for their customers, only what money they can take from them, and will lie to get it. I will NEVER go back, nor will I ever refer anybody there.

Positive Experience

This is a really bad time to need a new vehicle, but I really had little choice. Juliana Gillotti at Jay Wolfe Toyota helped to make it a very positive experience. She was very patient with me and worked diligently with me to get exactly what I was looking for. I would very much encourage you to ask for her services and/or a Toyota from Jay Wolfe if you are in the market for a new vehicle.
