My granddaughter bought a 2020 Kia Forte last year at
My granddaughter bought a 2020 Kia Forte last year at Spitzer Kia. It was her first newer car and experience at a dealership that entire family contributed to help purchase. We didn't realize until after purchase that the car was one of the easy Kia's to steal, and despite a perfect driving record, she had extreme difficulty finding insurance that would even cover it. When insurance was finally found it was, and still is, outrageously expensive. The "great guys" at Spitzer had to have known this and still directed her to this car. The emphasized that the vehicle was "Spitzer certified", which apparently means they charge more, and we "wag less". When she tried to follow up with salesperson, Caleb, after purchase, he suddenly no longer returned her calls. When she called to talk to Sales Manager, the people answering phones insisted she talk to a sales rep and refused to forward her call or make an appointment. Discouraged, and angry, about how her first dealership experience has gone she recently looked at trading car and has been told it's value is about 70% less than purchased, which is way beyond reasonable depreciation. When she called again recently to talk to Sales Manager at Spitzer about her experience and possibly trading there she was again denied talking directly with Sales Manager. We get it. We should have done better research and it was our choice, but the anger lingers because they knew she would have trouble getting insured, or would be very costly, and have ignored her once they were paid. For a young lady that worked hard for years to save up significant down payment to have her first car buying experience go this way is just wrong and slimy. The only people "wagging more" are at Spitzer Kia with their sales commissions.
