Drove 6 hours to purchase used vehicle, went based off of pricing info on cars.com. Filled out loan app, went in approved, test drove the car and loved... it. DEaler tried to raise price $2000, placing in $4000 over highest fair market value. When shown the screen shot price advertised they would not honor the price. Unethical and dishonest way of doing business.
I found the car I wanted online and wanted it delivered to buy. Honda of Downtown made it happen it that very evening. Habeeb was not only really helpful... (this was my first time buying a car on my own) he was also extremely personable and made the whole process fun. Docking a star because it took 2 days and 3 follow ups to get my copy of the paperwork.
Manny did an outstanding job. He brought us home two different Honda car models to test drive, while following all covid public health guidelines. Finally... he delivered us the new car at home and made online car buying experience easy and convenient.
While the customer service was very friendly and I would recommend this dealership for the employees I worked with, I cannot recommend the dealership overall... because I was very surprised to discover that the "price" of the car is actually MUCH more than what is stated. There was a $1000 PDI fee, several hundred in "other fees", as well as a couple thousand for certification. As other dealerships factors these in the price they advertise, the fact that Honda Downtown Chicago does not is misleading. I expected that there would be doc fees and taxes, but to have thousands in miscellaneous bogus fees is just shady.
Awesome experience, I will highly recommend Dave, he was a very nice man and went above and beyond. Everything went smooth as possible. He help us and... told us everything about the cars, he didn’t force us to purchase a car right. He was very respectful and understanding. Need more car sales men like Dave from Honda downtown Chicago.
I am giving 2 stars - for non transparent pricing 5 stars - service Simple math for new customers car cost = price on website 2000 to 3000$ (certification... cost) This is to alert customers to not believe the price they mention on their website under Certified owned inventory. On top of that price they will add 2000$ for certification and oil change. When I questioned them, they said this is mentioned in the disclaimer on their website that this cost is not included in the price. Good luck if you are able to find that disclaimer, I never found where it was even after coming back home. People are friendly, and good customer service - 5 stars to that. But price and transparency is the most important factor when you are buying a car. So for that reason I give them 2 stars, and wont recommend to anyone until they change their practices.
we have been well welcomed at the garage and well served by the sale guy Jamyn who really helped us in the leasing process. Thx you!
Customer service reps are good and my rep, Habeeb was wonderful. We achieved a fair deal and bought the car. The finance person was not pushy and explained... everything. Again praise to Habeeb my salesman.
Avoid at all costs. They cannot be trusted and try to rip you off. I've been to this dealer three times. Each time they tried to overcharge me vastly more... than I was quoted. The first time they advertised an oil change for something like $30. When I went in to pick up my car, they tried to charge me like $75. Only after fighting about the coupon which they had advertised (and confirmed by phone), did they agree to reduce the charge. They had also tried to upsell me on a bunch of other maintenance items (that were not even necessary) at wildly inflated costs, but I declined those. The second time I went for an oil change, they called to tell me my car was done, but I ended up waiting close to three hours for them to finish. Most recently, I went to get a hitch installed. They quoted $510 for the parts and labor, which already seemed high, but when we went to pick it up, they tried to charge around $650 and only after major complaints did they come down to $610. It's my fault for giving them a second and third chance. But I will never go back.
Jayme helped me in purchasing my car, the whole process was nothing but smooth, especially during a pandemic. He was awesome and they couldnt have picked... a better person to work with. My appointment was at 10am, i was out by 1 I believe. The best service that I've received in a while and you know Chick-fil-a are the only people who can do that now a days so that says a lot. I also want to give a big shout out to Nick in finance!
