I’m deeply disappointed that I encouraged our daughter to

I’m deeply disappointed that I encouraged our daughter to purchase a used car here, and even more disappointed with how Elton and Brad have responded to us regarding her situation. This type of terrible situation and service was what I was hoping to avoid by guiding her to a dealership that had good reviews. In our case, the reviews were completely inaccurate. She bought her 2012 Kia Sportage in Feb of 2024 and just a few MONTHS later, the engine went out while she was driving it, and it will cost $9000 (per Lawrence Kia dealership) to replace it. She spent money she’d saved, as well as graduation gift money from her Grandma, and is now out THOUSANDS of dollars. Neither Brad (I think that’s his name, I believe he’s the marketing manager?) nor Elton (GM) apologized or offered any assistance other than “if she’d like to trade it in, we can help her buy another car.” Truly heartbreaking to have to guide our daughter through this when we’d tried so hard to find a reputable dealership. Update 11/25: I called Terry today and we spoke for 15 min, but I was again told there was nothing they could do. Obviously we will not return to Jack Miller Auto and would discourage all to avoid. They sold a lemon to a sweet young lady and chose not to offer ANY sort of apology or assistance.

Everything you think about used car salesmen

This has to be one of the shadiest dealerships in KC. They will string you along for a week then sell the car right out from under you. I went to look at an Acura ILX on a Monday afternoon and since it was a used car I wanted to have a shop I trust to take a look at it before making a purchase. I got an appointment set up at my shop for the next afternoon at 1PM and let the sales person know at 9:15AM on Tuesday, everything was good at this point. Get a phone call back at about 10:30AM asking if I can take it to a different shop because they were "just getting pretty busy." I made a few phone calls to see if I could get something else set up with another trusted shop but could not get anything set-up until Wednesday. The sales person was off on Wednesday and I had work stuff to take care of Thursday so we agreed to a Friday meeting to have it looked at. Set up the appointment with my shop and again everything was looking good. I got a call on Thursday about 9AM saying that they wanted to let me know that "it looks like the car did sell the other day." At no point was I informed that there was other interest in the vehicle. As a salesman myself this is 100% what I aspire not to be and is a great lesson in how not to treat customers. Thank you for the lesson Jack Miller!

Wont honor warranty

Multiple issues and they refused to honor their warranty. I shouldn't have trusted their google rating. Elton was a complete jerk about it too. Had it 5 days but its my fault the car sucks?

HORRIBLE BUSINESS

Worst place to buy a car. Manager is a jerk and salesman lied. Someone needs to shut this dealership down. You let customers purchase cars with bandages holding car parts in place and once the car is off the lot and you bring it back to fix, they state there is nothing they can do.

A Joke.

Horrible and rude experience from the sales people and the manager. i believe his name was Elton. Don’t come here please. I rather pay more and have better service where they don’t lie to you.

Beware

This is the first time I purchased a used vehicle and will be the last time I EVER purchase outside of an actual and reputable dealership. I thoroughly reviewed the vehicle inside and out and it appeared to be in good working order. The test drive was also fine. When trying to negotiate the price, the salesman returned with No Hassel stamped in red on the paperwork. I should have just left at this point, but I wanted the vehicle and therefore tolerated their showmanship of having of upper hand of knowing I wanted the vehicle. I inquired about purchasing some aftermarket parts and they stated they would help me and could probably get them at a lesser price than I could. However, once the paperwork was signed, I was dropped like a bad habit. When I inquired about these aftermarket parts again, I was informed to just go online and find them myself. I left for vacation the following week and the vehicle started having issues during the trip. By the time I returned home, the 3,000 mileage warranty was no longer valid. I spoke to the dealership several times and all they offered was a potential discount if the repair service was performed by them. I was so disappointed and aggravated, I decided to call the general manager, Elton. I informed him of the issues and he said he would think about partial support of my out of pocket expenses, which was over $3,000. I never heard back, nor would he return my calls. I have kept quiet about this for some time now, but I can no longer be silent about such an unprofessional and deceitful experience. I hope my experience serves as an example for others to do their homework before purchasing from Jack Miller Auto Plaza. I am disappointed in myself for not being wiser in my decision-making and will have to accept this as a learning experience.

Lori Gruetzmacher

I bought a vehicle 6/12/21. I forgot my paperwork there and left a message to see f they could send it and they will, but only by regular mail. When I test drove the car it was good except for a tire that needed balanced. I bought tha car at high blue book. It had been I. A small accident which had scapes the lower door and a couple minor scratches. When I got home I also noticed three small cracks in the front windshield. I also wrote them about this and called and left a message.. note no one retired my voicemail call or email. When I spoke with my oh so nice dealer on Saturday, things reversed to very rude staying “you already bought it and windshield isn’t included.. it passed the Missouri inspection and so all is fine”. Needless to say, I was not happy. I asked it they could do anything to help and was told “have a good day”. I did advised to the rude man on the phone that I will not give a good reference and will let other buyers no what could be expected. I drive the car to the windshield repair in independence where I live and they found yet another long crack by the review mirror that was bad. The entire front window has to be replaced. I am so sad this is how I was treated as a single mom. I say “Shame on Them”!! 11,700 for a 2013 with 110,000 miles and now a new windshield
