Warranty concern
I purchase an extended warranty with CNA National when I purchased my car in April of 2021 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe ultimate. Your dealerships the manager is now saying that my extended warranty is not valid when it is for 72 months and 145,000 miles. Your dealership put the wrong expiration date on the warranty. I feel like your dealership should reimburse me the money I have paid for my warranty the last 2 years and re write me a new warranty or just send CNA National an amended warranty with the correct date. I feel as though for me as a customer you do not care to satisfy an unsatisfied customer at the point. You made the mistake as far as the date. New need to speak with the new owners to get this resolved. To me your are not an honest dealership if you cannot satisfy a unsatisfied consumer. I will not purchase another Hyundai because of this complaint.

Worst Experience of Our Lives My wife and I came in to
Worst Experience of Our Lives My wife and I came in to Colonial Hyundai to buy a SUV after the birth of our third child. We needed more room for the five of us and found a used vehicle just in our budget. We negotiated a price for a used vehicle at the dealership and a trade in value for our car. In fact we had agreed to pay what the dealer was asking. We had this in writing and placed a down payment for the vehicle with Colonial Hyundai. We came in the following day to sign the paperwork. We handed over our used vehicle and title. After we were done signing all of the paperwork and we’re in the process of writing a check for the vehicle, the manager came in. He stated that the he didn’t like the deal we agreed to anymore and was changing the value of our trade. Let me reiterate, we had already signed all of the paperwork for this sale. Colonial Hyundai then proceeded to rip up our signed paperwork in front of us and attempted to renegotiate the value of our trade before we could complete the sale. We could not afford the increase in price nor could we accept a dealer changing the value of a trade after we had signed all of the paperwork. We had to walk away from the sale. It feels as though this dealership did not act in good faith and did not honor written agreements they made. I hope you read this and think twice before trusting or doing business with Colonial Hyundai.

Poor warranty service
Car purchased two months ago was told it was "thoroughly checked over by service, and has the 60K bumper to bumper warranty. Battery failed, left me stranded. Cust Service tried to charge me $289 for a replacement, said no warranty coverage !!! Went to Auto Zone got a replacement battery installed in 15 minutes, for almost half the cost of Colonial !!!

In March 2022, I had my 2022 Sonata Hybrid purchased in October 2020 towed to Colonial ( the original dealer) with major engine failure - overheating - at 21283 miles. Their Service Department insisted that the failure was due to driving through high water and ingesting water through the air intake and would not submit it as a warranty claim until the insurance company engineer documented that there was no indication of water ingestion through the air intake. After 1.5 months I finally insisted that Hyundai Customer Care have the vehicle moved to another dealer. After working with Hyundai USA, the 2nd dealer got authorization for a warranty repair. After 6 months, I finally got my car back on September 24, 2022. Had Colonial not stonewalled me this would probably have happened much sooner. Despite this being my 3rd Hyundai and 2nd Sonata Hybrid purchased from Colonial Hyundai, I will never do business with them again.

Colonial Hyundai Oct.
Colonial Hyundai Oct. 24/25, 2022 Owner - John Ashdale Salesman - Jim Ballezzi Attempted to purchase a Hyundai Santa Cruz. During the process salesman Jim Balezzi was verbally and physically threatening and abusive. Mr. Balezzi attempted and semi-succeded in bullying/threatening us into buying a vehicle all the while the owner, John Ashdale, listened in and did nothing himself to stop Mr. Balezzi. Mr. Balezzi verbally threatened the owner of "Joey's Pizza" that he was going to have him arrested/have the cops called on him for overcharging him for a pizza delivery that he purchased for us so we would stay at the dealership and not leave. He verbally abused/threatened this owner over the phone where all employees and customers could hear. This intimidated me enough that I went outside and called my bank to cancel the loan due to his threatening/bullying behavior. When I returned back inside Mr. Ballezzi had my bank rep on speaker phone pretending to be me and verbally giving the bank rep my social security number, address, and date of birth. I never authorized the release of this information nor for Mr. Ballezzi to write it down nor say it out loud verbally. Mr. Ballezzi was pretending to be me, giving out very private/sensitive information so he could complete a sale all the while the Owner, John Ashdale, sat feet away listening and allowing for this to occur and proceed. Mr. Balezzi charged my credit card $3,000 for a down payment and an additional $75 as a processing "fee." The dealership refused to immediately refund my card. Mr. Balezzi threw my card at me and stated "you'll get a check in 2 to 3 weeks in the mail." I persisted and he refused to refund the $75 processing fee. I contacted owner John Ashdale via email and phone. During the phone conversation he admitted that everything Mr. Balezzi did was unprofessional. Now Mr. Ashdale and Mr. Balezzi are bullying me into returning the spare key, and will not come retrieve it themselves. I feel intimidated.

BUYERS BEWARE!
BUYERS BEWARE!! DO your research (vehicle's market value, your credit score, get loan pre-approval, etc.), physically check ALL of the numbers and READ all of the contracts (BEFORE you sign) that Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown gives you or you might drive away with a new vehicle but knowing that you were overcharged for it through unscrupulous means. (I made this mistake and stepped into every used car salesman tactics even though I bought a new car.) Remember, you're free to walk away and not sign anything if you're not comfortable with the terms and conditions they give you because PA does NOT have a "cooling off period" where you can change your mind after you sign. Also, they will add extra costs (nitrogen tires, Crystal Fusion, pre-delivery inspection? all totaling close to $1,000. They discuss the nitrogen and Crystal Fusion but don't mention that they're OPTIONAL add-on warranty costs so I incorrectly assumed they were all part of the car price.) to the sale price that you originally agreed upon. Like other customers have stated, we came to see a vehicle that was advertised on their website and was told that they had it in stock only to find out when we arrive that it's not but they do have another more expensive model (with dealer upcharges near $6,000 over MSRP so that you think that you're getting a "good deal" if you're able to get down closer MSRP) . If you're well prepared, you may be able to get a good deal from them but don't assume they'll be upfront with you. I've bought cars from other dealerships before but I've never felt so cheated as I did buying from Colonial. Personally, I suggest that you STAY AWAY from doing business with Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown.

The service I received was very unprofessional.
The service I received was very unprofessional. I reached out about buying an SUV and gave the 'live chat' responder my email for someone to contact me. Gian Rodriguez emailed me, and while I let him know I was in the market to purchase today/ASAP, he only replied with mostly one word answers. Not the kind of service I would expect from someone trying to make a sale. The 3 star rating should've been the first red flag. I'm glad I didn't waste anymore of my time.
