I bought a car from Metro Motorcar for over $12,000, and within a month, it became clear I’d been sold a lemon. The horn didn’t work at first, and while the dealer attempted to fix it, it only worked intermittently. Even worse, when it did work, the alarm would randomly go off in the middle of the night, waking up my entire neighborhood. While dealing with that, I discovered that the engine was failing and needed to be replaced. When I asked the dealer what he was going to do to make things right, he first said nothing, then offered to give me wholesale value for the car (with the engine failing, that’s practically nothing) and sell me a different vehicle. I refused, since his offer would’ve put me upside down with the bank, and I had no reason to trust that the other car would be any better. I expressed my concern that he might’ve known the car was bad, and he got defensive, claiming he’s been in business for 35 years and “gets rid of bad cars.” If that’s true, why didn’t he consider my car a bad one, given all the issues it had from day one? To make matters worse, I reached out to the Minnesota Attorney General after learning it’s illegal to sell a car without a working horn. They tried to contact him, but he rejected the mail and they couldn’t track him down. After just three months, I had to surrender the car, losing thousands. I’m beyond disappointed and would NEVER recommend Metro Motorcar to anyone. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

P.T. Barnum, A sucker born every minute.
Bring the car to a mechanic, or bring one with you. Before purchasing. Paid $ 3700 for car. From time purchased, drove 1000 miles. Have put $ 2000 into repairs.

Metro Motorcars - best in the Metro?
A very positive experience buying a used cargo van from John at Metro. It was easy doing a first test drive, then getting vehicle to my mechanic for a look over, and finally getting the sale done. Have been recommending Metro to others who may also be interested in converting van to mini-RV with good mileage and ease of driving.

My Mistake
I found your response in my email junk folder. So, you did respond to me and my previous review was in error. I apologize. It was my mistake.

Buying used car with low mileage
Jim Zinnes was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. No hassle. Payment for my trade in was generous. Should I ever need another used car I would, without hesitation, go back to Metro Motorcars.

Vehicle purchase on 3/21/2020
We worked with John Eaton to purchase a used vehicle and it was a great experience. John was great to work with and I would go back to him again. I highly recommend Metro Motorcars Hopkins, MN and John Eaton!

The owner told us he would hold a car until thursday for us to go buy. He sold it to someone on Wednesday. I had my heart set on this car. What kind of xxxxty person does that?

5 stars earned, Excellent customer service
I'm very happy with my 2012 Kia Serento Ex. Joe from Metro Motors was welcoming and answered all my questions promptly and professionally. Joe went above and beyond to please me, there was no pushy sales tactics dealing with Joe. I gave Metro Motors 5 Stars because Joe earned every Star! I would highly recommend anyone looking to purchase a quality used vehicle to go see Joe at Metro Motors first.

Best experience
Good prices, no pressure, no hype and a laid back atmosphere. Easiest car buy ever. I was very satisfied with price I got for my trade as well.

Exactly What We Needed
I was very picky when I told John the next vehicle I wanted to purchase, and the price I needed to stay under. He worked long and hard (I'm sure I caused him a headache!) to find just what we needed. When the car arrived, he found it needed a couple quick repairs and took care of it. The transaction went smoothly and without hiccup. Metro Motorcars keeps quality cars and quality personnel - those with integrity and care to put you in a great vehicle you'll be happy with.
