3.2 TL Review

Acura delivers value for money in the 3G TL. The car has many features that are standard; leather, blueetooth, memory seats, to name a few. The 3G TL maintains the sleek profiles of Acura's of old (read Legend). The same cannot be said of the 4G TL. The car feels a little front heavy when one starts driving but one quickly get used to it. The car moves without hesitation and invites the driver to floor it. Driving the TL is fun and I have especially enjoyed the car on long distance travel. Pros: Great value for the money, Honda/Acura reliability Cons: Front heavy ride, rattling noise that comes and go and very hard to diagnose

"Top of the line innovation"

This car is one of the best cars that Acura has created. Steering control is amazing, navigation system is 100% acurate, the body is very slick, and the interior is luxurious. If the 2006 models had close to 300 hp, it would have made to the top the year that it was released.

Superb featured offered

My husband and I have owned 2 Lexus in the passed, and when we were searching for a new car, the features that this car offered blew us away. From the bluetooth, to the navi. toys are some of the things a few other luxury cars offer that took us by surprise. We drove this car and said it's a must have. Although the 8 speaker system with sub needs improvement but other than that it's one of the best we have owned.

Luxury sports sedan

I've had my TL for less than two months, and love it. I looked at Volvo S-40/60; Passat, Infiniti G35, Lexus and some others. The value you get for your money is incredible. Everything is standard on this car except navigation. That's it. You have one decision to make - do I get Nav or not? To get close in price on the other cars you would need to get a stripped down model. The six-speed shifts like butter. Two minor issues are the torque steer and some vibration from the tires b/c low sidewall and cold weather. It seems when the tires warm up ride is very nice. Acura should look into the tire issue b/c it feels like they aren't balanced. Not sure if the problem is more prevalent in Bridgestone than w/Michelin, but wish Acura had told me there were two different types of tires used on the car.

Pretty good car

Good usable room in back seat for long legged people Lacks DLR Because of high rear, impossible to see what is behind the car Sound system could be better by allowing automatic increase and decrease in volume coordinating with speed to keep selected level not matter what speed Needs windshield wiper on back window which is at about a 30 degree angle and catches a lot of junk

Best for the money

Only negatives are poor visibility and wide turning radius. Other than that an excellent car. One of the best looking cars at any price. At the price it is a steal. It is quiet at highway speeds. Great engine, nice interior, great gadgets: DVD-Audio, best navigation system on the market, Bluetooth, etc. Really cennot go wrong. No problems so far. I've had it for almost a year now.

Ultimate Car for a sales guy

I picked up my 2006 TL with Navi in March. As a sales guy, I've put 20k miles on it. My friends nicknamed it "Air Force One" because I can call the closest Mexican restaurant in an unfamiliar city from the GPS system over bluetooth wihtout taking my hands of the wheels. I counted - there are 13 buttons on the steering wheel alone. I love that. It feels luxurious because all the small technological details are built-in: your side mirror tilts down in reverse and the rear view mirror dims. Hold down the "unlock" on the keyless - and the windows roll down. I can't find ANYTHING in a Mercedes or BMW that the TL can't do. None of the really cool things are obvious until you start driving it. The only problem I have with the car is the torque-steer, and I think that's because it is a front wheel drive vehicle which is a little strange to me. Also - the outside could be a little more flashy, but that's such a trivial trade-off considering the quality of the car. For someone that does a lot of talking and navigating - just suck it up and learn the bluetooth and navi system. It's like having a cell phone for the first time - you'll wonder how you used to hold a phone up to your ear and navigate with maps.

Best value in market segment

Nice blend of performance, comfort and features at a good/very good price. The TL might not be the class leader in performance, comfort, style, etc., but has no signifcant short comings either (that is unless you have a strong preference for RWD or AWD).

worst gas mileage in thirty years

Getting 13 mpg in suburban driving using any octane. Driver seat is cramped for larger driver. Trunk is too small for family car. Location of windshield wiper control leads to accidental usage.

Fantastic Car Inside and Out

Picked up my 2006 TL a few months ago. Sicne then I have put on 8,000 miles and have enjoyed every minute in the vehicle. Before purchasing I stacked it up against the 3 Series BMW and the Infiniti G35x and neither compared when it came to value for money. Only thing I would like to see is an AWD version.
