pre-owned owner
So far, so good! Bought this 06 w 71k miles on it four months ago. Have put almost 6k on it so far, without issues. I was the fourth (*gulp!) owner of the vehicle, which I was nervous about, but the car was actually under extended BMW factory warranty for 10 more days when I purchased it! Didn't need to have any major repairs with inspection (which, in MD, can be very detailed). Overall, I'm very happy with the car. It has (of course), lots of power, and is very responsive. I have yet to test out the AWD in snow, though, which I'm looking forward to since that is why I scoured the state for xi's... The optional manual transmission feature (steptronic) is really nice to pop into, and of course, my boyfriend, a car enthusiast, loves it. (He also commented that driving the car was comparable to driving his Porsche - a true compliment). Seats are comfortabe, and interior is roomy for a 3-series. Trunk is, too. Lots of little comfort features (like heated seats, automatic dimmers, side-view mirror auto-adjusts when backing up) that I appreciate. Also - great news - my car gets great gas mileage - better than I was expecting! 30 mpg on long highway trips, and averages 23.5 when I'm driving between city and highway. Not too shabby. Only minor 'complaints' I have is that the run-flat tires seem to give me a bit bumpier of a ride than I was expecting from a B<W. They also seem a little loud sometimes on the highway. However, they certainly don't effect the performance of the car, and its nice to know (as a petite woman) that I won't be stranded on a highway somewhere waiting for a tire change! Interior design is okay - some of the buttons (window, unlock, etc) are placed differently (read: kind of in awkward locations) in these models from the previous ones. For example, the interior unlock button is located above the center dash, so you have to halfway get in the car and reach over the drivers seat to press the unlock button. Overall, great so far! Can't wait to see how it holds up!

A real headturner and superb to drive
My imola red, performance pkg 330Cic has to be one of the most beautiful cars on the road. The car is admired wherever it goes, whether driving or parked. I bought it new approaching 6 years ago and driving it is still a joy, although after 65k miles it's beginning to feel a little less taut and I'm starting to think twice before taking a corner posted at 40 at 70+ mph. However, it still handles beautifully so now it's merely 70mph! The exhaust noise is marvellous and with the 6 speed manual and higher rev limit it's a real driver's car. No significant mechanical issues and what there were were fixed under warranty by an obliging dealership. Cons are the handling can be squirrely. The performance pkg has low profile tires on 19" rims and these do NOT like road ruts or rough conditions at all. Great for the track, but I wish I had thicker tires for the road. The power is a little less than I'd have liked whilst there's an annoying flat spot at 5k rpm which the dealer seems to be unable to get rid of. Lastly, the gearbox is not smooth and it's easy to miss third when changing quickly. The interior design gets 3 stars only: the second cup holder is useless with the arm rest down and the seats are not very comfortable on long journeys (try the new M3 seats for what BMW can do). The interior trim is getting scuffed too. The car has been very cheap to run. In 6 years, it has cost me in parts/repairs $800. That was for two tires. I agree with several other reviewers here in disliking the new hardtop convertibles. In addition to its looks, the 06 Cic soft top has enough trunk space for the wife and I to go away for the weekend with the roof down and still get our bags in the trunk. The new hard tops, aside from their "boxy" styling, have barely enough room in the trunk for a toothbrush when the roof is down. The only car I'd trade this one for is a rag top M3, also in imola red. Those extra 100 horses would be fun to have. However, the 25-30mpg I get on the highway is nice too!

1st BMW
I was looking to replace my Toyota solar convertible. I hated giving up the larger trunk and back seat but I wanted more performance. I bought the car used with 34k miles. The trunk fits 2 golf bags but not much more. The back seat is fine for short trips if the person 5'4" or less and the person in the front seat is small also. You can't be 6' and have a passenger behind you. I have owned the car for 5 months and had no mechanical issues. I went with the 330 because of the extra weight of the convertible roof. When driving in the sports program the car really responds. I am 6'2" and have plenty of room. I would not recomend driving the car in more then a dusting of snow. Automatic wippers and ski bag a plus. Gets about 21 mpg while still having fun.

Run-flat tires and reliability
The run-flats did not run-flat, they started to squirm and it was dangerous when I had the blowout. Then I had to get off the freeway and the tire-man says you can't repair it and they run $380 per tire and you need two? WOW, put regular tires on and I will find a spare rim? WRONG, can't find a spare rim in the whole east-bay. Why have run-flats that do not run flat Not to mention the water pump for the wipes goes out and the windows malfunction and I could not get the windows up. Time to sell and get a Honda, ZERO problems and great gas mileage even if it is not the ultimate driving machine, it is affordable, reliable and a better ride.

2006 BMW 330xi - First BMW
I bought this car is July of 2010 with 37,000 miles. I had one small problem with it, my check engine light came on, and it took them a while to figure out what was going on with the car. Finally, it was a minor problem. It was a valve in the engine. Since it is the 330, it has the low profile tires. You would think it would not be good in the snow, but it is all wheel drive, and believe it or not, it is great in the snow. The only thing is i don't recommend it for families- the back seat could be a little bit tight to sit back there.

Best BMW Style
I decided to buy a new old car (2006) because I love the styling of this particular model, crisp square lines, not all that rounded Japanese car styling. Too bad they changed it later. Performance is great. Not too techy but fine for me. Love this car!
