First gen new body quirks but beautiful and smooth. Take care of it and not only will it take care of you but do so in exhilerating fashion. A well kept 550 is a pleasure to own.

For the amount of power this car puts down on the tires your expect it to be very loud, but it is very quiet. 0-60 in 4.5 seconds while you have the a/c running, with the rest massagers on, while running the air cooled seats, and driving a passenger. The brakes are very good but I can see myself upgrading to the Brembo's next year. it's a heavy car weighing 4,500 lbs. that's not a complaint it's just a desire to have a little more stopping power.

Wow what a fantastic car. The 550xi is fast, comfortable, stylish with sexy lines. The reliability has been good but when you take it in will cost you. It is extremely fun to drive with huge power kicking in about 2500 rpm. The take off response is a little slow based on the weight of the car but the 400+ hp takes over. I chipped line and slightly lowered it to provide superior cornering. The interior is top of class in this car and is much more comfortable than my wife's Mercedes 350 series. Really only problem I had was with a intercooler coil going out. The car corrected itself and shut down that turbo to protect the engine. This is my third BMW and just love the quality and feel of the car. Nothing compares.

This car has power in spades while providing amazing comfort. Power on demand with confident handling. I drove across county in this car and every mile was amazing.

Ravishing car. Good riability. Powerfull. Comfortable. Easy to drive when you get to know it better. Needs for improovment?!? Simply a dip stick to gage engine oil and i wonder if all four heated seats would be on if the batterie could take it. In all. A very beautifull car

This car is super reliable, like I said it is just so fun to drive - zoom, zoom! It is beautiful and I think so every time I get in it, never loses it?s wow factor. Very comfortable, all the controls are easy to reach while driving and it performs really well in the snow with snow tires, what more can you want?

Love this car like a child, unfortunately two carseats are not fun in the back...thats the only negative.

The performance of this car is absolutely phenomenal? The best all-around vehicle I've ever purchased, in terms of reliability , performance, ride, usefulness in all inclement weather, and absolutely stunning body lines for a true classic. A job well done BMW? My hat off to the engineers !

Being only 22, I wasn't looking to spend loads of cash, but being a young professional - I wanted to maintain the upper scale look to clients. Moving from an Infiniti sedan to my current 550i was one of the best choices I have made. Germans know how to make their cars! I haven't spent long with my BMW, but I can tell you it will bring joy to me for a long time and my clients.
