Best Car I've Owned
I decided to purchase an SUV for improved driving in the snow/ice since I have a 30min commute to work. Even though it is a small SUV it handles like a car and gets great gas milage. I love my BMW X1 and would highly recommend it.

So fun to drive easy to park, lots of room for cargo, surfboards fit inside and universal crossbars are available cheap for the roofrails.

Nice vehicle for first BMW
I originally wanted an X3, but the availability in local used vehicles with low mileage didn't work out. So, I settled on an X1. I will get an X3 next. The X1 is much smaller than I expected, more of a mini wagon style. It looks good, performs well and is reliable and functional. The back seat is not spacious or comfortable enough for two full size adults. For an entry car, I would suggest it if you are not looking for backseat space. I thought it would be better on gas, superior engine and all, but to my surprise, it is not. A great little vehicle, fun to drive, but in the end, a little smaller than I wanted. I am it going to get detailed about performance because you can find all that in the specs. It is punchy enough and the Eco option is where gas savings happens, but I find the engine hesitant on that setting. With so many X series choices, my suggestion is to meld the 1 and 3 and then it would truly be a better vehicle.

BMW X1
Fun to drive- hands down. Can cut through a foot of fresh snowfall no problem. Great daily driver with excellent handling for those that like a firmer suspension. The wagon design is preferable to me and enjoy the features of the 2015 model compared to the new models. It looks and feels more solid.

Despite oldet 6 speed auto, the performance of the turbo inline six is outstanding. Coupled with hydraulic steering this is an awesome driver experience.

2014 BMW X1 Xdrive28i M Sport w/19" Wheels
I recently purchased a 2014 BMW X1 Xdrive28i M Sport w/19" Wheels. First of all, it's an MSport with HUGE wheels... The tighter suspension and larger tires mean there will be less isolation from the road: It's a universal expectation that the sportier the car, the better the handling performance AND the worse the ride / noise. My choice was to purchase the M Sport because I wanted better handling and sportier seating (along with a sleeker less fussy exterior) and the trade off in ride and noise was, for me, well worth it. Regarding the Eco Mode... Most anytime an engine starts or stops, there is s detectible "shimmy". I'm thrilled when the car turns off at red lights, because of the decreased environmental impact! It's worth a little shake to help save the environment. My previous car was a 2012 Infiniti M37X. The much smaller X1 rides in a very similar way... Though the BMW is noisier, it is far more "stable" when going over ruts and patched roads. Overall, I'm delighted with the blend of performance, fuel economy, comfort and handling in the X1.
