As much fun to drive as my 1966 GTO.
It's been years since I've enjoyed a car so much, as my ATS. Reminds me of how much fun it was to drive my 1966 GTO. Many people who see this car, are impressed with it's great styling, including my 17 year old son. I'm impressed with is performance and styling. This is a great car!

Great Car Great Value
My lease on my vw gti ended and I was looking for something that handles well but a bit more refined than my gti. I ended up leasing a 2.0T ats with QUE. I got it for a little under $300/month and for that price nothing comes close to it. I'll admit the QUE system is a little annoying at first but once I got use to it it stopped bothering me and it looks great. this car drives like nothing else in it's price range especially if you're looking to lease.

Not Your Fathers Caddy
This Cadillac ATS is not your father`s Caddilac. Gone is the cavernous interior and mashmellow suspension. This car has taught and tight steering and suspension. A sports car feel on every turn and corner. The 2.0 turbo is powerful and smooth as it sips regular gasoline. The two tone interior looks as though desinged by Italian auto maker Ferrari, hand stiched and very luxurious. The on board controls "CUE" are all touch screen and takes practice on their usage. The ATS looks far superior to the competition, both inside and out, then the BMW3 series,Audi 4 series and the Lexus I 250. A fantastic car to drive, and a Caddy Man from now on.

Needs more time on the road, less in the shop
I was excited for GM when this car was announced. It took a few weeks to get the ATS with its 3.6l engine, and was initially well worth. It sat nicely next to a first generation CTS-V. The 3.6 in this car is rev happy, and is always very willing to run. The transmission shifts smoothly in normal driving, and in sport mode will hold rpms in anticipation of more throttle. Economy is acceptable, around 24mpg highway, but the 3.6 is more for sport than economy. The chassis is very balanced and feels nimble under the car. It also lends well to long distance trips. While still firm, it is comfortable, and not tiring. The brakes easily scrub off speed, and the suspension is well tuned for taking hard corners (better tires only improve this). I have no complaints from the powertrain and chassis. However, reliability and function of just about everything else has been a real problem that the dealership can't seem to nail down. Electrical issues started first. The car has gone through multiple right front headlight units. Motors in the swivel lights, as well as the projectors have required replacement. These issues seemed to spread to the CUE integration. The CUE system, to me, is not user friendly. It is easily confused even when speaking in a clear, slow voice. The system is still sluggish, despite updates. It does not connect to Bluetooth devices well, skipping on sync'd playlists, and hands free phone calls are almost impossible with the static and background noise. The right side speakers have been replaced, as well as the amplifier and the head unit itself. The same issues still exist with the new equipment. I try avoid using it, but unfortunately the HVAC controls are integrated. Mechanical problems started later. The first was a dull thump from the left front. The left front control arms were replaced. Shortly after, an increasingly noticeable squeak developed. Certain frame fasteners were discovered backed-out, and required tightening and re-torqueing. Brand new, the interior was excellent. Quality surfaces were used throughout, with a modern and luxurious touch. But the dash has developed a rattle (I honestly expected this, given my experience with GM products, and the replacement of the CUE hardware). With less than 7 months use, the driver seat and door panels required replacement because the stitching had become badly frayed and was coming undone. This car is certainly a driver's car and enjoys being driven hard. But the number of issues, and this review did not include all of them, has made it difficult to enjoy, and a regret of a purchase.

fun to drive
I haven't had this much fun driving a car since my Miata many years ago. But, the styling as well as the fit and finish are far superior in the ATS. Even the gas mileage is much better than the old Miata even though there's much more room inside. I bought the 2.5L and am very happy with the acceleration. Averaging overt 26mpg with mostly short trips back and forth to work. The CUE definitely has a learning curve but I love it and now it seems very logical. Yes, the backseat doesn't have much legroom but then this isn't supposed to be a family car. My first Cadillac and I'm impressed!

Caddy ATS
This is a very nice, sporty car. Biggest down side is very little storage space in the driver's area. No place to put a simple garage door opener. Rides great otherwise.

Finally an American car that completes in BMW Land
The ATS is the first American car that can actually compete with the BMW 3-series, and win. I read the reviews and took a test drive....sold. The 2.0T engine is the way to go in terms of balancing performance, price, and mileage. The CUE system needs improvement but gets easier as you get used to it. This is probably the best American car every produced.

ATS is a Player
After 2,000 miles in 3 months, the ATS is clearly a winner. I decided to go against the grain, and order the 2.5 liter - 202 hp base engine, not the turbo. Superior ride and sports oriented handling are the outstanding qualities of this car, as it's the best handling "drivers car" I've ever owned after driving mostly Pontiacs, Fords, and one Mazda. The CUE (Cadillac User Experience) touch-screen system controls take awhile to get used to, but most of the controls can be voice-activated. CUE needs to be improved. Don't like the HD radio as it never can stay locked in on a station. Included SiriusXM, AM, FM, MP3 connectivity, and the CD player are all I need and they work fine. Excellent integration using Bluetooth for either Android or iPhone smartphones and it's nice to place and receive telephone calls through the CUE system. The fit, finish, and workmanship on this car is excellent. If you want to race, get the turbo or V6, but for average day-to-day driving, the 2.5 liter base engine is just fine.
