A good little compact car
Although I am only six two, my legs are short and my body is long, which makes sitting in most cars a head bumping experience. Not so with the Aveo. I have a good three inches of clearance. The seats could be a little more padded but they aren't too bad, and there is plenty of legroom for my wife's 36 inch legs. The car is reliable and peppy and fun to drive, and, in a pinch, can haul fairly large objects with the fold down rear seats and the trunk slide thru. I like the styling of the four door sedan and I enjoy the creature comforts we got. For $11,000, not bad.

Good economy car
Good ride for the money. Horrible handling in the winter. Good summer car. Lacks any kind of acceleration even for how small it is. Overall a good deal and a good work car.

It will get you there
Overall the vehicle has been very reliable. The only draw back concerning the Aveo is the fact that the timing belt MUST be changed at 60K interavals. This is an interference fit engine and will gobble up your valve train when the belt goes south!!!! If you don't mind a squacking suspension and and a few other little annoyances, then I would reccomend this vehicle, great mileage (32) to boot.

GASOLINE SOON TO TOP 5$/GAL
Finally, I won't be scorned for owning a "GO-CART"!!! Have reccomended purchase of this car to a best friend, and she is very happy. Just drove from the Florida Keys to Oregon. Inexpensive, comfortable AND dependable: this is what transportation should be, Owned two Geo Metro's but this is really an upgrade, with rear-wiper, power locks, power rightside rearview mirror, heated rearview mirros, and still have a lot more power and good gas mileage. (I still miss the 50 mpg of the 3 cyl. Metro, but the four doors and extra room compensate.

Bad Gas Mileage
I have a 2005 and the car gets no where near the gas mileage advertised. I gave it to my parents and took their Honda Civic.

aveo
I've owned 2004 Aveo 5, 5 speed, PW,Cental lock, fog lights. The only problem I had after 3 yers was noise from bushings and dealer change them for free (3 years bumper to bumper warranty, 5 years power train). Excellent city car and quiter o h-wy on 5 gear than Yaris.

Great little car.
I've had mine three years (35k miles) and not one problem. The car is way roomier that it looks and the high roof and seats give much better visibility than most small cars. I carried home an eight foot Christmas tree with the back door closed. I have the automatic and it is quite peppy. If I need to move, I can put it to the floor and it takes right off. I saw on the rating that it had low resale value. According to the blue book it's worth $7,000-8,000. I paid ten grand for mine. Most cars lose that much value on the drive home from the dealer. I would highly recommend this car.

We love our Aveo.
We have numerous cars available to drive and pretty much everyone's favorite is the Aveo. Ours is a 2004 with 40,000 miles. Not one minutes trouble. I find it interesting that the experts haven't noticed the high owner satisfaction of these great little cars. We enjoy traveling in ours and are considering having cruise installed to make it that much nicer. We will probably buy another one! Very roomy and the trunk on our sedan holds a ton of luggage. It's hard to keep it under 80 or 85 out on the open road and we don't feel tired when we arrive at our destination. WE LOVE OUR AVEO.

Best gas economy & maintenance
Great car value. Would like to see side air bags. This model had problems with engine valves, injection and gas cap - all repaired at no cost to me! Overall a good small car for around town.
