New used truck
As I am recently retired and wanted to replace my nearly ten year old truck with a newer model I decided to buy a used truck. This particular one had very low miles and a clean Carfax report. I am very pleased with the purchase.

New truck
So far so good. Very nice truck, lots of room and power. Lots of gadgets that I have to learn how to use. Love the color!

Good Value
Got a great deal on Z71. Traded 2008 Taccoma which had 250,000 miles and ran and drove like new. I wanted something with more comfort features and Z71 came standard with almost everything I wanted, except leather. First thing I noted was almost total lack of interior storage, poorly designed cupholders in the doors and only 2 inconsole. Tacoma had 2 cupholders in each door with 3 in console. Also Colorado console storage is tiny as is glovebox. The Z71 has a terrible ride over rough roads, my old TRD was fantastic. About 1,500 miles started getting shudder in the transmission, especially uphill. Dealer flushed trans and changed to new type of fluid which cured the problem. I just hope there is no long term residual effect in the trans. On the plus side the creature comforts are fantastic. Ride is silent, no wind noise tire noise or exhaust noise. Even on rough Illinois roads there are no rattles even as rough as the rear suspension is. Seats and steering wheel heat up almost instantly as do mirrors and rear window. Heater blows warm air within a mile an A/C is great. Much more comfortable than Tacoma. The unavailability of keyless locks and pushbutton start sucks for an up scale package. MPG is about 18-19 with about 50-50 city-interstate driving. My daily route is hilly which really knocks down MPG. I've gotten over 24 on long trips on fairly flat 55 mph roads (I usually run about 62) The OnStar remote access is great until the free trial runs out, then it's not worth $9.95 a month. The full OnStar is worthless of you have a cellphone and Google Maps is free. Overall it is a real nice truck for the money, I just worry about long term reliability.

To many annoyances that Chevy dealer can't or will
My Colorado WT with a six-speed manual transmission is on its second radio and third touch screen. Third gear has excessive vibration. Cruise control accelerates when disengaged. Occasional no start, relax key and you get normal start. Rear door has to be slammed so you do not get door open warning.

Difficult getting in and out.
Like the feel, and power is quick as are the brakes. Rear visibility is somewhat difficult. Lack of driver's interior grab handle makes entry and exit an unwelcome chore. Appearance and ride are excellent.

Transmission trouble
Its not what I expected. Transmission shifts when it wants. It started at 3000 miles. I now have less the3800 on it and the shifting us so bad it beats you up. Downshifts after shifting. So not the truck I thought it would be.

2019 Chevy Colorado
This is a great truck. It’s a bit of a smaller truck but if you want a small truck that is 4x4 and can pull a trailer and has great interior qualities it’s for you.

Awful experience with GM so far
On 11/11/19, I brought my brand-new Colorado (had it for 5 days) to Liberty Chevrolet in Wakefield due to the appearance of a check engine light that was caused by an Exhaust Emission Issue. After 3 days of not hearing from the Service Dept. I made several calls to find out the status of my vehicle. Several times I was put on hold for long periods of time (> 3mins) and often I was disconnected while on hold. Finally, I asked to speak to the Service Manager (Amando) about the status of my truck and was told he would get back to me. A few hours later I received an email stating my vehicle was ready to be picked up. 30 mins later, Amando called me to ask if he could keep the truck to have a more experienced mechanic look into the issue because the emission readings were still high and they were looking at another truck at the same time that had a similar issue. I agreed to let them keep the vehicle and continued to call the next few days to check on the status of my truck and the availability of a loaner vehicle. Each time they were still looking at the truck and had no vehicles available for me to use. On 11/18, I reached out to Chevy Customer Service to express my concerns I had with my vehicle and the service that was being provided. On 11/19, I spoke with Amando and stated I would no longer be calling every day and would be waiting for a call from Liberty when my vehicle was repaired, or loaner vehicle became available. Several phone calls back and forth took place with Chevy Customer Service over the next week about the status of my truck and still no calls were received from the Liberty Service Department. On Tuesday 11/26 around 5pm, I had a conversation with the Chevy Customer Service rep and she stated Liberty wanted to give me my vehicle to use over the holiday and would have me bring it back when they had a loner vehicle available for me. I then stated that the next day would be day 15 and under the MA Lemon Law I would be within my right to request a refund and was now planning to return my truck to GM. Approximately 1 hour later I received an email from Liberty Chevrolet stating my vehicle was repaired and available to be picked up. At this time of the night all I was able to do was leave messages at the GM Customer Service line and for Amando at Liberty questioning what was going on. On Wednesday 11/27 Amando called me to say my vehicle was all set. I told him I wouldn’t be able to get there until after 6pm to pick up the vehicle and it could be left outside for me to pick up. I went by Liberty at 7:30 pm and the vehicle was not there. On Friday 11/29 I went to Liberty to see what the status was and spoke with Amando and was handed a service break down that included a statement “customer refused to pickup vehicle” I asked for that to be removed from the diagnostic sheet because it was untrue but he would not. He had a tech retrieve my vehicle for me to take home. Come to find out my keys were locked in the vehicle in the rear lot. When I did finally gain access to the vehicle, I realized that during the 19 days the vehicle was at Liberty it accumulated approximately 135 miles and had a coffee tray, creamers, straws and napkins left for me on the passenger-side floor. At no point during this experience was I offered a substitute vehicle or compensation for going without my brand-new truck OR a means of transportation for 19 days.
