I love my HHR

It's a great car, and goes to show that American car makers DO care enough to produce a quality vehicle that is affordable and stylish. I have a couple of minor dislikes, but nothing that would stop me from buying another HHR. The seat belt buckle is right up against the seat, and jabs into my hip on occasion. If that were pliable, it would be a much more comfortable ride. I also wish there were more places to store things in the front, like a small well to put change into would be very nice. The window size does not bother me in the least, I have no problems seeing and the tinting is really nice since I live where summer is VERY hot most of the time. Cargo space is awesome, and the way the seats all fold flat to make a 'bed' area is great. I have had Honda's for the past 17 years, and happily surprised by my Chevy. My faith has been restored, and I couldn't be happier with my HHR.

HHR great car read owners manual

This auto is a great buy. It has plenty of room for people and cargo. no lack of power from the 4 cylinder if as the manual says you use premium gas. I get 31 miles per gallon on trips and slightly less around my rural home.i am 6feet tall and the head and leg room is wonderful. would recommend this to anyone!

Flat out fun to drive!

I have a 92 Vette, and this little 09 HHR/SS is a blast to drive. With my stage 1 turbo kit installed it would seriously give my Vette a run for its money! Not to mention 24MPG/city 31MPG/highway, what's not to like?

smooth and very quiet ride

I recently went on a 2500 mile trip and I averaged over 28 miles a gallon, that's around town and highway driving. I think that's great.I'm very happy with the base engine. The 2.2 is very responsive and quiet. I have the 1LT package and enjoy the traction control and all the safety features of the standard side air bags. The only complaint is the cup holders. Great car and would buy again.

The BEST value dollar-for-dollar - BAR NONE

Bottom line, for the price this is hands down by far the best vehicle I ever owned. Perfect for a young family looking for stylish reliable car and gets good gas mileage!! We bought one used that was only 1 year old with 12,000 miles... still has NEW CAR SMELL! The HHR wasn't even on our list, we had planned on buying a new minivan. A good freind recommended an HHR based on his personal experience. I can postivtely say WE ARE BLOWN AWAY!!! From the moment I left the dealership I knew I loved this car. Very sportly, excellent gas mileage, handles great, looks good. I have heated seats for the winter and a sunroof for the summer. I can fit my whole family (5 people) with plenty of storage, also found it extremely verstile (the cargo area is a MUST for do-it-yourselfers, you can fit sheets of plywood no problem. BTW - GREAT IN THE SNOW which surprised me. Would recommend to anyone looking for a car.

Reliable, so far so go.

My HHR SS has a lot of rattles in the pillars and dash. I would really like this car if the dealership could correct the rattling. I avg. 23 in town driving. The car his 6000 miles on it.

Nice car

Only had it 3 months, bought it used, so far I'm happy with it, but wish the seats were more comfortable, I don't think I'd want to travel across the country in it.

2008 SS

I bought a 2008 HHR SS and wouldn`t take the world for it! Great car.Fun to drive and I average 24 mpg around town as long as you keep your foot out of the turbo. Great power when needed. No complaints with this car. Would only buy the SS model .

Love my HHR

I bought an '06 HHR in August of '06 and now have about 36,000 miles on it. (EPA Fuel Economy:City: 19?22 Highway: 29?32) Bought for specific gas mileage and cargo space requirements, and it has the automatic trans. I'm fairly rural, so most of my mileage is highway (45mph or higher). the gas mileage has been good, averaging 28mpg. On a 6000 mile west coast trip in May '08, we got as high as 32mpg highway. There are some issues with visibility, but I can compensate without thinking about having to do so. I researched it myself, and cannot be happier with my choice. Even my spouse likes it!

My first new vehicle

Bought it certified used. Great vehicle so far!! I love the look of the HHR, but hate the name. How about H2R? I'm 6'3" and, while very comfortable to drive, "High Roof" is an exaggeration. Like many newer vehicles, it has blind spots (front and rear)so be advised. Chevy cut costs by limiting interior lighting. While the roof LED suffices to light up the center console, good luck finding anything you drop on the floor. I LOVE the body style and I get great gas mileage at 23 city/32 hwy. Acceleration is acceptable for all reasonable purposes. The driver information feature is impressive (how does it KNOW I have 42 psi in my left front tire?) but I'd trade the outside temp. info for the (optional) compass. The tailgate is a little low compared to my minivans, but I can manage make it work without cracking my skull. It should be OK for most people. THANK YOU, Chevy, for giving us more control over the daytime running lights, auto door locks, etc. The 'opera dimming' of the interior lights is no big thrill and I wish I could turn them off completely like I can with my other vehicles. Still-- all in all, Chevy has a real winner here! Buy American!
