One Solid Vehicle
I'm going on year three with my 5.3L V8 ext cab, short bed Silverado. purchased with 40K and have put on 25k since. I couldn't be happier with this vehicle. It's been 100% reliable withstanding -50F winters in Wisconsin as well as running cool in 100F+ summers. I've had no issues in the snow with slipping, never been stuck in the mud or crud in the woods and believe me i've tried. It can pull everything and anything without any troubles at all. 7500lb boat here and there with no troubles. The ride is comfortable for a truck...especially compared to a few other trucks I've owned. the only knock i have is the fuel efficiency. i'm lucky to get 16-17 on the hwy with some pretty laid back driving attitude. However, for the versatility this truck provides, the milage is acceptable. the interior is very simple and straight forward, just how it should be. everything is within arms reach and well thought out. Definately recommend this vehicle and over three years, i've had absolutley no issues.

A nice reliable truck
This truck is very nice for it's price and age. It has always been very reliable for me, without any repairs other than oil and tires.

very comfortable truck
we have a 1500 Z71 with 66000 on the 5.3 engine without any problems the ride is very comfortable and quiet. I have replace the power window operater 3 time in each door. Replace the blower motor resistor card, and just replace all 4 rotors and pads. we purchased the truck 4 years ago with 45000 miles on it. I replaced the right rear brake caliper and rbber line line. The truck needs a dirt guard in front of the rear wheels to limit dirt getting into the brake caliper. I made my own and they seam to work well

LIKE A ROCK
Bought my 2002 used a few years ago with 80k on it, it has 150k on it now, nothing has gone wrong, and I've towed a trailer literally almost every mile with it. Has the 5.3v8 and the 3.73 rear end ratio, great power and decent mpg for a truck (17hwy). Handles extremely well especially for a truck, and rides like a Cadillac, and very quiet. A refined workhorse, and very reliable. Absolutely LOVE this truck, have seen some with over 300k with same engine - it will last. BUY IT.

by far best truck I've owned
amongst the 1ton competition the chevy/GMC is superior in every factor except price, however even with higher price it's still the best value

High Maintance
I bought mine from a friend (2002) with 2k on it. The 6.0 V8 made a knocking sound every time it was started. I was told it wasn't a consern and to drive it. Sounded like a diesel some mornings. I also had to replace the rear rotors and pads($500) @ 28 k ?? Why? They were very rusted , mechanic said poor steel and replaced them with americian made rotors. I had a 8 ft plow and it pushed anything in it's way. I also used it to haul hay and horses with a 2 place trailer. I traded it for a Toyota Tundra (in 2006) and love it. I'm glad to get out from under the chevy. I was disapointed and am a Chevy guy too. Looking now to maybe buy another Sliverado. I was told the 6.0 V8 had problems in the first few years of Mfg. The truck had 30k when I traded it in. Too many issues for a still fairly new truck for me...We will see.....

Chevy Trucks keep going and going
My 2500 HD is one of the most powerful trucks I have driven (total of 5, toyota tacoma, toyota thundra, dodge ram, chevy 1500) Other than your normal maintenance, this truck is extremely reliable. I still have my dodge and never drive it anymore because it feels like driving a 4 cylinder after the chevy.

Best truck I've owned
I bought my Silverado new, and it has yet to fail to do anything I needed it to do. I have pulled anything I needed, from ag tractor on trailer to equipment trailers for a Scout toop for a weeks camping 1/2 way across the country. I would not consider anything other than a Silverado after this truck.
