Great truck Great value

Ok, I bought our Silverado new in 2011, traded in my 2005 trouble free Avalanche in for no other reason than having a new truck under warranty for travelling with our 5,000 lbs travel trailer, camping and exploring the entire East Coast from Bar Harbor ME to Key West Fl. At the time of purchase, Chevrolet had the ”Family Price” promotion going on, so mine was only $29,500 out the door! Mind you I'm talking about an LT Ext Can Z71, 4X4, 5.3, with the HD Tow Package, not to mention a great trade allowance of $22,000 for the 6-year-old, low mileage (4,8,000) Avalanche LS 4X4. SO for about twice the price of an extended 3-year 36k warranty, I was able to BUY a new truck! Yes, it was not as nice as the Avalanche, but it did have features like the Z71 package that comes with Skid Plates, Auto Locking rear diff. Tow Hooks and nicer wheels and tires, plus an advanced 6-speed transmission along with the HD Tow Package that includes Engine Oil Cooler, Power Steering Cooler and Transmission Fluid Cooler. All to improve the towing factors. That together did make a difference in mileage and Towing comfort. oh yeah, better side view mirrors. So all in all a value-packed deal, especially considering the price of a new Avalanche, with the same trim level and Z71 features and HD Tow Package was actually well over $40,000!! Yes, they are basically the same truck, mechanically, however, the Silverado has at least a 500 lbs weight advantage, that in the towing world makes a big difference in capabilities and ratings. Not to mention daily mileage issues, sure the Avalanche with the rear coil spring suspension rides and handles better on empty daily commutes, but that all goes away as soon as a trailer, any trailer, but especially a 9’ tall travel trailer gets hooked up, that adds at least 400 lbs of tongue weight, along with the air resistance and sway control issues the good old leaf springs add, along with the lower GVW. But I have to tell you that the special features of the Avalanche make it a very attractive SUV/Truck compromise, that at the time allowed me to transport 4x8 sheets of drywall and plywood, on numerous occasions, I'm not talking about one or two, no more like 20-30 at a time! All kept high an dry. But that's all for another review. Have Fun and Stay Safe!

It's Decent

The vehicle rides well and performs well, however its way to pricey for the current economy. I chose to pay for it so that s on me. Overall great ride.

Always starts and drives well

This truck is always super reliable and starts right up every time. Great styling and comfort inside the cabin with minimal road noise. Profit mace is great and for a full size truck the MPG is fairly strong as well

Good purchase!

I believe this truck will meet all my needs. It has received good, solid reviews, offers many luxuries, has decent MPG for a truck, and was sold at a fair price.

Silverado is a true contender in the truck world

It is reliable, strong and good looking. Best truck for the price! While mine doesn't have 4 wheel drive, it should perform well enough in winter with winter tires.

Most uncomfortable and nimble handling

One of the worst trucks I?ve EVER driven! Rides like a car that?s too high off the road! And not as comfortable as a Ford truck or Ram truck! And it?s the same junk engine they have had for years! Interior has more plastic inside then any other vehicle I?ve driven
