Awesome looks and economy
I've had my Volt for just over three months, I've put over 3000 miles on it. Comfortable and quiet. The power is good. Awesome instrumentation. Much better and bigger than the Prius and Civic hybrid that I once owned. And the economy on fuel consumption is the best ever!!! I'm getting 92 mpg!!! I am one super happy owner.

I Miss My Toyota Prius!
My new Chevrolet Volt is a lot of fun. The likes of this work vehicle include: quiteness, exclusiveness, prestige, sharp enough looks and novel dashboard and some switch gear. What I dislike: jerky harsh ride, inadequate power, cheap interior materials, some odd black trim pieces looking out of place on an otherwise normal but too common shape and far too short a driving range. Summary: I praise GM's efforts but I see no clear advantage to the Prius or Honda's sharp and roomy 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid model recently introduced or Chevy's own 40 MPG related Chevrolet Cruze Eco. The Volt has had a number of significant kinks by the dealership has been generous with loaners and their steadfast attention to our issues and needs

Try it, you'll like it
The car continues to amaze and delivery on it's promises. After 2000 miles, I have used 2 tanks of 9 gallons. That's almost 130mpg. The car is fun to drive, good looking, comfortable and quiet, and well built. The reliability is perfect. Volt owners are royalty with GM. If you don't like the Volt, it's because you don't have one.

Clean Green Speeder
Sure this car has gotten a lot of hype, and pundits on all sides are loading the car down with a lot of baggage - and most of them have never seen one, let alone driven one. Ignore all that and go take a test drive - you won't be disappointed. And you definitely won't be disappointed when you wake up every morning with a full battery and get to drive right past the gas stations.

Wanted to like it... back to the drawing board
As an environmental engineer, scientist and research analysis, I had expected to love the Volt; an innovated automobile I had longed-for for years. It looks a bit goofy, but that I can handle. The interior is marred with less room than the exterior would suggest. In fact, cramped, I would say to anyone needing room for four or five. No power seat controls, especially for a loaded version exceeding $45,00.00 is ridiculous. With several drivers in the family, it is hard finding the right settings each time a different driver takes to the wheel. The latest generation Toyota Prius has as an optional over-sized working sunroof with fresh air availability and an extraordinarily beneficial solar panel that serves a variety of economical, environmental-friendly purposes, including a power source for what I believe includes the stereo system and fan operations. If the affordable Honda Insight offered this feature, I would have purchased this no nonsense Hybrid based on my many years of Honda ownership. My aim with the Volt was to buy American after years of driving completely trouble free Acura's and Honda's, including a trustworthy Honda Civic Hybrid and a version of the stellar, but short-lived Honda Accord V6 Hybrid - soon to return, I read. I am impressed with everything I have heard about the new Nissan Leaf, but again, wanted to purchase an American made hybrid, electric vehicle or combination. In all honesty, I want my relationship with GM, Chevrolet and the Volt to improve. I could live with the odd shape of the exterior and even the overly cozy interior and flawed seat controls if only the dealership can fix the myriad of what the serviceman and technicians from Detroit (and I think GM's California studio) call "electrical glitches" and "new car kinks". If not for running the risk of nullifying the warranty, I would attempt fixing the vehicle myself. I wait in frustration with a gas guzzling loaner car for the return of my Volt. With hopeful thinking and optimism, I am confident Chevrolet will eventually perfect this car and others to follow.

My Black Volt - #1712
We've had our Volt, #1712, for less than a week. We've only ever own imports and still have a VW and SAAB. The Volt impressed us with it's Euro feeling ride and handling. Drives down the road like a luxury car, not an economy car, which is a good thing since it's priced like a luxury car. Overall very impressed with the thoroughness of the engineering as well as the fit and finished. In EV mode, it is extremely quiet, errily so. The transition to extended range mode is utterly seemless. Black with the polished wheels is very sharp looking. Just like any other vehicle, if you purchase something that doesn't fit your needs or your lifestyle, you won't like it, but that doesn't make it a bad vehicle, just a bad purchase for you. My daily commute is less than 20 miles round trip, so I'm hoping to use zero gas Monday - Friday. I'll update in a few months. So far we are thrilled.

Poor Quality
This car does not have the range it states it has. It has very poor acceleration and is not very quiet. I am disappointed in it and would not buy another.

Chevy Volt will change our world!
Smooth electric power, Cadillac interior, unmatched mileage , a technological milestone! This is the future of world transportation, finally an automotive invention that man can honestly say is in the right direction. Good job, GM! By the way , the one star reviewers here are SCAMMERS, please disregard their comments, they have never seen a Volt (aside from electric shock therapy).

Better than my 540i
I know the title is saying a lot, but I mean it sincerely. The Volt is absolutely the best car I've ever driven. It's quick, nimble, stylish, and simply incomparable from a technology standpoint. The first three adjectives above also applied to my beloved 540i Sport (an awesome car, no doubt), but electric driving is amazing. From a dead stop, it's the best. And zipping around traffic on the highway is just as good. The Volt's range extender is what makes this a practical primary vehicle--no range anxiety. Most days the car never burns a drop of gasoline (my commute is around 20 miles). But this past weekend, driving two hours and back (about 250 miles) was a piece of cake. I never even stopped for gas! In fact, I've only filled the 9-gallon tank once since owning the car--and that was 600 miles ago. (The dealer filled it once too.) Including two long-distance trips, my all-in average is over 60 mpg. Even that number is rising fast, now that I am mostly commuting--and burning no gas at all. Whoever posted the negative reviews here, must be a real troll, because those statements CANNOT be further from the truth. Try a Volt. You will love everything about it!!!

best car out there
Since receiving my car two weeks ago, I have been commuting 15 miles each way to work. This car is rock solid on the road and I have 12 miles of electric range when I arrive home to charge it. It is great driving this silently to work and then charging it with surplus electricity from my solar system. I read some of the reviews on Cars.com and don't understand the poor range, maybe the battery needs to be checked, cold weather could also be a factor. it's not an issue in So Cal.
