Sick of reading about all the complaints
I own a 2008 T&C touring. It was purchase in 2010 with 30,000 miles. The previous owner negated to take care of the posted recalls. I took it to my local dealer and had them performed. The car now has 50,000 miles. Other then new tires and regular oil changes, I have had zero problems. The 6 speed transmission gets me 25+ on the highway. It rides like a dream, has plenty of pickup and provides all the utility anyone would want. This is the 3rd Chrysler/Dodge mini van I have owned, the 1st one in 1989. The Pentastar pionered this type of vehicle and will always be at the head of the class. There is a reason it has sold more units then any other nameplate. It is simply better then all the rest.

Lots of problems
This is a great car for a family, but don't be fooled by the table it is worthless. Also the reliability is annoying. I have had to make many trips to the dealer in the first 36 months. The brakes are so bad the are unsafe. But not covered under warranty. The engine makes a ticking clacking sound. It sounds and drives like it is falling apart. Yet the dealer says it is normal or items are not covered. This is my third chrysler and my last.

Burns oil and other problems, not recomended
Purchased a 2008 T&C Touring with the 3.8l engine in 2009 with 35,000 miles on it. After close to 60,000 miles here is my review. Pros: Lots of room for people and stuff, stow and go was great. Decent engine power. Interior, while kind of cheap looking, but was functional and held up to wear. Cons: It uses oil. After the first month we noticed the oil light came on. Checked the oil and it was very low. Topped off the oil and ran it for another month. Same issue. So I take it into the dealer thinking there is a leak or something that needs fixed. What does the dealer say? It's normal for the vehicle to use (burn) oil, about a quart every 3000 miles. Which ours was using a lot more. Extremely bad design on Chryslers part. Another issue was the brake rotors wearing out and the vehicle went through brake pads quickly. Poor door hinges/tracks for the automatic sliding doors caused the doors to not close automatically and caused the hinge to rub on the bottom of the track causing abnormal wear. This vehicle has turned me off from buying another chrysler product anytime in the future.

My savior in autos
I bought my van because I had just gone thru my second time of having stage 4 cancer and was physically unable to get in and out of regular cars and generally needed the extra comfort equipment..like adjustable seats, heated seats, back up camera, fold away seats, etc....I purchased the high end model and have been completely satisfied with the six gear automatic that is particularly nice when in the mountains...the cargo space with the seats down is as good as having a pick up to haul things in..I can also use the area for a quick nap when I feel worn by the road...I also appreciated being able to purchase this van for about $10,000 less than an equally equipped Honda van...I had been a sold out Accord buyer for years...driving an American van was definitely different at first..but three years later I am thankful for such a dependable comfort van.

LOVE OUR T/C LIMITED!
We love our 2008 town & country limited! we had a 99 limited and it had over 167k on it and it ran good till we had a accident that total it but it was very safe. And we bought the 2008 limited and love it. it has 60k on it now and running good. The only problem is every onces in a while this little sound comes from the right wheel when your cutting the wheels on a turn. dealership said we fixed the problem but it may come back because something about chrysler car do that. but overall we love it and hope you will too. by the way the 2011 its hot! got to be my favorite town & country inside and out. beat honda and toyota!

Very problem prone - don't walk from it, run from
I bought a Town and Country Touring new in 2008. I looked past the ugly, plastic interior (it looks like it?s simply not finished ? cost cutting run amok!) because it was very comfortable, drove nicely, had a lot of features (heated seats, dual video, leather, etc.) and had an out-the-door price of over $10,000 less than similarly equipped Japanese minivans. I knew that in terms of dependability it wouldn?t be as great as its Japanese competitors but I figured with today?s technology, all vehicles are very good. Wrong! I have had this vehicle for 2.5 years and can say that it is the most problem prone vehicle I have ever owned. I have been meticulous about maintenance and care, however, the vehicle not only disappoints in terms of the sheer number of [reoccurring] problems but it has become a ?rattle trap? that is unpleasant to ride or drive in. I take very good care of my vehicles and they typically last me 8 ? 12 years or about 150,000 miles before they become undependable or simply worn out. This vehicle seems like it?s there already after not even 3 years and 45,000 miles. From the very beginning I noticed there would always be an excessive amount of black brake dust on the front wheels. Really thick, almost like grease, requiring them to be hand cleaned every couple of weeks. Sure enough, it burned through 3 sets of front brakes in the first 30,000 miles. The dealer of course suggested that it may be my driving habits but I have never experienced this issue with any other vehicle. The first set was replaced under warrantee, the 2nd set I paid for. When it needed a 3rd brake job at 30,000 miles I had them replaced with brakes from a Goodyear service center and this set has been fine. Shortly after its third brake job, the vehicle was recalled for ?premature brake ware? (no kidding!). Chrysler reimbursed me $140 ($240 for brake job #2 less a $100 deductible). Other issues (some repaired under warrantee, some that I needed to pay for): repeated sliding door sensor problems, peeling paint on front bumper, dashboard paint began to flake off, gear selector jammed and needed to be replaced twice, A/C was out of commission for a long time (eventually recalled for that too) because of a hose that didn?t fit properly so it leaked. For the A/C I needed to wait several months for a new/improved design to become available before it could be fixed. The latest issue (causing me to give up on this vehicle, cut my losses, and replace it with anything else) is that it has become an absolute rattle-trap making it unpleasant to drive or ride in. This is not just the plastic interior pieces (whose rattle and squeaking intensity comes and goes), but metal-on-metal rattling inside each of the sliding doors. Most concerning at this point is a loud ?creaking? coming from the door openings whenever the vehicle changes speed or direction. The dealer claims that it is caused by ?body flex? for which nothing can be done. The creaking is very pronounced and getting worse. It sounds like the inside of the cabin of a small wooden sailboat rocking on the waves. The overall effect of the rattling and creaking interior is that of an old, worn out convertible. I purchased this vehicle because it was very comfortable and seemed to provide the best value for my needs for the price. It has been a huge disappointment as Chrysler?s dire financial situation is very evident in this product. Engineering and quality are abysmal.

Great Car
I bought this car new, and has been a good car since. Gas is not bad for a minivan with the 4.0L since i am an easy driver and average around 20 around town. I love the overall interior quality in the Limited version. The car is great for road trips with all the friendly features. The only problems are that it had a battery problem, which was taken care of for free, at about 13k miles, and sometimes in the winters, the doors will be a bit frozen and the doors wont be able to be opened except by hand.
