My second Durango R/t, new car, new problems
Traded my 14 R/t for a 17 R/t. straight away noticed annoying "niggles" that should not be there on a $50k vehicle! Ride: the 14 was much smoother, so much more planted in the corners, that said...I think it's mostly down to the now electric steering. It's completely devoid of any feedback...hate it! They added sport mode!!!! yes! but... Out of sport mode the thing runs at such low gears that everything rattles, it sounds like my old 2002 ford exploder! Fuel economy is still frightful, mid 300s to a (large) tank of gas. I bought it to tow, my boat and my kids and associated "cr@p" at the weekends, it does it, never misses a beat, plenty of reserve. In fact I've found myself dragging of the lights against stupid cars whilst towing the boat, just love that hemi burp! Panel fit is just as bad as the last one, awful for a car this price. The ride needs to be better, it's too harsh. the overall QC needs to be stepped up. The price needs dropping, or the above needs fixing, I suspect if they dropped the price $5k they could not keep up with demand! I so much want to love it, I "enjoy" driving it, but hate it at the same time, makes no sense and that's a shame for something that costs you $50,000! I'm also upset that they decided to "lock" the computer , so now I can't even try and improve on the stupid gearing when not in sport mode. Shame on you ! For the reasons I bought it, it does everything I ask, for actual enjoyment of driving...meh

Durango
The SUV lacks power with the 3.6L V6. It feels a touch anemic. Also the auto off function is just plain aggravating. You roll up to a stop sign, and as you start to take off, you get a big lurch as the engine turns back on. Really ANNOYING. And you cannot permanently disable it, so you have to remember to turn it off every time you start the vehicle.

Durango R/T - My 3yro says it means Race Truck
Durango R/T - If you want a family car, that is part muscle car and part truck, then this is the vehicle for you. The wife said we needed 3rd row seating for the 3rd kid we have on the way, but I wanted something fast and aggressive. Now we have a Durango R/T and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. This is my wifes vehicle, mine is a Ford Raptor, and I have to admit, I love driving it, it certainly has more flat out road speed than my Raptor does, plus it is all wheel drive. The inside is very roomy and comfortable, it has a nice selection of creature comforts and keeps the family happy. The only downside I would say is that if you drive it in sport mode you will get about 14.5 mpg, possibly lower.

The Niche Nobody thinks about.
Being a small business owner is hard. A lot of concerns about a work truck are actually addressed in Dodge's Durango. The right amount of room, The right amount of gas consumption, even the correct amount of power. Obviously there isn't a perfect solution, but they are really close to it. If you own a small business Durango may be a perfect fit.

Durango the option
I didn't want a Tahoe. 12mpg? I didn't want a pilot no room. I also needed a serious hauler. Durango fit the bill perfectly. The 6 cylinder was even good enough for hauling if the 8 was too much money. The mpg was even better, just stay out of it, no drag racing. It's solid, powerful and reliable.

Best car ever
When we bought this car, we knew it was going to further define our love for the Dodge brand. Prior to this we had a Challenger, two different Ram 2500's and a earlier model Durango. This is by far the best Dodge we owned from it's sleek style to the performance and value for the dollar we are in love.
