2008 SE Caravan
I like the van has good features and good safty. Only problem is speed-o reading are of on speed cotrol can vary and so even with or with out speed control by 10 miles an hour. Has to be taken in for the computer to be re progrmed. Wish dealers where closer that they are now that so many have been closed. Great van for handi cap use. Lots of room.

Brakes--Brakes--Brakes
I bought my 2008 GC last year when Dodge had their $2.99 a gal for gas, was great for a while. Brakes are a problem, 15,000 miles on the front when they went bad and 23,000 on the back. We should get more miles on the brakes. Other that brakes love the Van,

Very reliable car
This is the first VAN what I purchased but it simply amazed me. It has a lot of features, a huge space when I pack the 2'rd and 3'rd rows of seats in the floor. It has very good brakes, ABS and stabilization sensor which is a huge plus when the road is wet or with ice. The 3.8 L engine is great for this VAN. The FOG LIGHTS are making the difference when driving on night in the city. I recommend it for family with kids. Adrian

Biggest pile of junk
MYgig is nice but I have had it in the shop for 5 radios now. Lights would turn off on you as you drive down road, and interior trim is falling off after only 15000miles.numerous sqeaks and rattles. not happy and the dealers can't figure out whats wrong with radio issues.

Most improved
Of my four dodge vans this 2009 GC is the best. Power from the 4.0L is much better than any previous model The six speed trans is helping get better MPG than the smaller engine that was mated to the 4 spd. The power doors and liftgate are just fun, the satelite radio helps on the long trips. I can't wait to load it up and use the load leaveling feature of the trailer towing package. The brakes are better than on any of the previous GC's and the handling is like a minivan, not great, but it is this big box being driven down the road. For the price this is still the best value in a minivan I have continued to buy Dodge GC's because they have been very good and reliablle, looking forward to many enjoyable miles in this new one too.

bumpy hard ride
Just purchased an GC SXT 08 leftover on 12/31/08. Car mfg in 12/07. I have had 5 others since 1986 and this one rides the hardest. I am very disapointed with the ride so far... Will it get better? The tires are a year old, does that have something to do with it? Or does it have a 'Sport' suspension? Will it take time to 'break in' or is it going to be a long hard uncomfortable ride??? All of my other GC's were pretty smooth. Also, the 4.0 engine has enough power for sure but sort of 'screams' when you step on it as if it was a 4 cylinder. Any help fromm anyone please! Thanks, Jim

Excellent vehicle- great transmission & engine
The new Chrysler minivans have not been given a fair shake by our car analysts. I wish that you would take another look. This is our third caravan and yes there have some issues but this vehicle is great. I love the 4.0L engine and the 6-spd transmission. We have taken several long trips and it is a delight to drive. The transmission is very smooth and I am comparing it to my other cars. I really like that it from Germany as part of the Daimler connection. My son has a new Odyssey and there are minor differencies but I would not trade it for a Honda or Toyota. And the price is much better!!

Nice Van, but it's got some issues
I just recently purchased the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. It's fully loaded with everything but the Navigation and a Trailer Hitch. So far my experience has been so so. I traded in a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with a Hemi, so as far as power the van seems anemic. Mine does have the 4.0L, but again it's a van and it still has some get up and go. The features are nice, however if you try and adjust the Air Conditioning while your driving, you're taking you life into your hands. It's fairly cumbersome to navigate. Mine has the Swivel-N-Go, which for anyone who has a baby in a car seat it's kinda nice to load and un-load. It's got a ton of cargo room and the space under the floor is nice, except you have to move the front seats all the way foward if you want to access them. The video screens are cool, lots of entertainment options there. Things I don't like: The interiors plastic is easily marked up from shoes (cheap plasticky feel) and mine hit 6,050 miles and it left me stranded because the thermostat broke and the engine overheated, as of 6/20/08 it's fixed so we'll see how that pans out. The automatic sliding doors have a mind of their own. You have to make sure that they close all the way before you start walking away. I closed the doors using the keyfob one day and went into the store. When I came out the side door was wide open. Apparently when I turned to walk away after hitting the button the door decided to open back up by itself. Nothing was blocking it from closing (who knows?) Other than that, I love the Van, it's very family friendly. Maybe next years model will have some of the kinks worked out.

3rd Dodge Gr Caravan
I traded my 05 for the new 08 a couple of months ago. The interior design is customized for the driver! Love It!! I really like how everything is in front of me. I have 3 teenage sons, and each of them have plenty of space for trips. We drive to the beach (2hr trip) every Friday-Sunday, and this is the first vehicle they don't fight in! The handling of this van is great. I really like the exterior design. The driver has plenty of room, and when someone is in the seat behind the driver, they can slide that seat back for more leg room if neede. Stow-N-Go, great design. I can easily stow them and get them back out. The "trunk" space is great for those groceries. No more rolling vegies! Having 4 windows go down! Wow! It makes driving so much nicer. I'm glad I bought it!

Wow
We rented this minivan for a trip down south, we didnt expect this van to be as amazing as it was. We had the SXT with the 3.8L, it had enough power but wasnt nearly as strong as our 2003 Ford Windstar. (sold it, too many miles, 230,000) The stow n go seats arnt as comfortabl as others because you can feel the metal bars in the seat but the kids didnt complain that much on a 4 hr car ride. having the windows being able to roll down in the second row is nice. But when you drive over 30 there is SEVER!! buffeting. (wop wop wop wop wop) The manule shift feature is nice you get better acceleration when you use it. we used the stow n go seats A LOT! we loved the fact that the stow part goes all the way across instead of being cut off We loved this van soo much be asked the rental place when they sell them. they said around 15,000 - 20,000 miles. We dont think we can wait that long. when we buy this van we'll only upgrade to the 4.0 and possibly the swivle and go just for more seat comfort. overall this van is better that any offering from honda or toyota
