Great Value
I purchased my new Journey three weeks ago. At first, I wasn't sure what to think. I bought it because it fit my budget. Although I really wanted a quality used luxury sedan for my family of five, I decided to by new instead. Love the handling, the features, the roominess (looks tight, but feels big), and all the attention to detail in the engineering. Not my luxury car, but a good addition to the family that I enjoy driving.

"The most techno car I've ever had"
I went from a Z71 Tahoe to this Dodge r/t. It is no Tahoe. The main purpose for trading vehicles was for gas mileage and this car by no means live up to the gas mileage that the car said it would be. I wish I would have kept the Tahoe. It does have some nice features for the money. I do consider myself somewhat inept at all this computer technology and if you are really into that this is the car for you.

No room for coffee
I like most of the styling except these two important things: The cupholders in front are so squished between the dash and the console, you can't use them for coffee. I have the two row seating design and whoa be unto anyone that drops something between the back seat and the cargo space. It's lost forever. The drive is kindof weird, it hesitates before acceleration, the transmission is leaking and there is a crunchy sound when I turn left. Once you are on the highway and cruising, it is very nice and smooth, not too much noise either.

The Journey Has Begun
My wife and I needed more room, but loathed the minivan stigma. I was in the market for a crossover with a third row that could fit a couple of kids if needed. We had our hearts set on the Acadia, but after a test drive realized it was too large for the misses, who was used to a Camry. The 2009 Dodge Journey had just came out, so we went by just to see how it stacked up. We were blown away and ordered one the next day. We have now owned ours a week and have logged over 1,00 miles including one road trip. The exterior is very sleek. I have the 19" wheels and roof rack, which make a huge difference. The high body line and taillights make the Journey appear taller than it is, which I like. Also noticable are the diamond headlights. The intierior is not the prettiest, but that's not what Dodge was going for. Functionality is key with the Journey. From built-in coolers to built-in booster seats, this vehicle is perfect for families and road trips. The 5+2 flexible seating third row actually has decent room, perfect for young children. Of course, when they are not needed, they fold flat leaving ample cargo room. For even more space, the 2nd row and front passanger seats also fold flat. The ride is very smooth, although you do have to really press the accelerator to see a response. I have experienced very little body roll and enjoy the raised seating position. All the above features were enough to buy, but my favorite is the MyGig stereo system. The MyGig is able to download music from cds and USBs and play them in the jukebox setting. You can also download pictures for the display. The MyGig is very intuitive and easy to use. Overall, we are very pleased with our Journey. On our fist road trip (around 600 miles) we averaged 24 mpg, which was surprisingly considering the sticker posted 23 hwy. It is exactly what we were looking for and we are now looking forward to many more Journies to come.

Dodge Journey
I was very impressed by the Journey when I saw it and took a test drive in it. I think the car is well made and has more amenities than I will ever need. The car handles really well, and with the third row, I was able to fit 6 adults with no complaints.

1 st 2000 miles
I bought my Journey on Friday evening and left Saturday morning for an 850 mile trip to Florida with my wife and 2 children, 19 and 11. There seemed to be plenty of room for the four of us and a weeks worht of luggage. Our 5 passenger R/T model had the extra storage space in the cargo area which was perfect for shoes, laptops, and all those little things that seem to get lost amongst the bags. We were able to put all the other bags in and still left the rear window clear to see out. The two "coolers" under the floor mats in the back seat were great for drinks, but don't forget to use ice packs to keep the drinks cool. The cooled glove box is a great idea, but don't have your heart set on icy cold beverages. It works off of the air conditioner so it will keep cheese from melting on sandwhiches. The passenger seat is fine though you can feel the storage container built into it at times. The stereo (we got the entertainment package) was a blessing on the trip. My wife and I listened to satellite radio while the kids watched movies with the cordless headphones in the back and my daughter did end up downloading her entiire Ipod library onto the stereos hard drive. One thing I would have liked to have would be the option to view the movie up front also. I know some fool would end up trying to watch it while driving, but it would be nice to watch from the passenger seat as well. I guess the rear view camera is good, but I found it hard to keep checking it while backing. Those are the only small gripes I have. The car performed well and the brand new 3.5 had plent of power for our driving style, its no sportscar, but it handled quite well on the interstate. The compter tells us we have put just over 1800 miles on the Journey this week and the onboard computer says that we have averaged 21.5 mpg so far. This may improve as the engine breaks in. So far so good and I would give this vehicle a thumbs up so far.
