Great SUV
32 MPG, runs great, comfy on the inside, easy to drive. I have owned several 4x4 and the 2008 Hybrid by far handles better.

Got what I was looking for.
Before this I owned a V8 Jeep Cherokee so I was supprised by how much power I got out of the escape when I test drove it. For the first 5000 miles this car only got about 26MPG when it was rated at 31-36MPG. Now I'm at nearly 20000 miles and it reads 32.8MPG. I guess the engine gets more efficiant with time. I do have a few small complaints. The passanger airbag says it's off half the time no matter how heavy the person sitting there is, and the trunk mat that lays over the battery slides all over when I put heavy things back there. If I could go back I would have bought the 4 wheel drive version.

Dissappointed
After reviewing several Hybrids, I bought the Ford Escape Hybrid. My mpg is only 26, unlike the 35 I was told it would get. I do not like the ignition placement, as it is difficult to find in the dark. Visibility from the driver's seat to the left is problematic. Wish I had stayed with a Toyota.
