2003 F250/F350 7.3 Diesel Review

The F250/F350 with the 7.3 Diesel by (International T444E) is easy to repair and has simple mechanics behind how it functions. It is a truck that pulls well, if the transmission is upgraded and will last a long time. No emission problems or DEF issues. There are a variety of after market parts to complete repairs and maintenance, unlike new trucks that stop having parts made after 3-5 years. The truck has been around long enough and forums address almost all issues. Transmissions/torque converters are the weak point ($5-8k) and always keep a Cam Position Sensor ($20) in the glove box with a 10mm wrench. Another common maintenance item is the injector control module. I recommend adding a fuel rail cross over to prevent air getting trapped in fuel system and drilling out the oil drains on the top of the heads to allow better draining back to crank case.

Best truck to ever be built

If you hear anything bad about the 2003 ford f250 just know it's not true. Currently, mine has 251,242.9 miles and it runs just as good as the day I got her. My brother has the same truck. He got it in 2004 and his currently has 1,487,675.7 miles and has no problems. Best truck I've ever had 10/10! Just make sure you change the oil and take care of it!

Fantastic Truck to put to Work

If you are diligent about maintenance, and willing to take care of a tool for a job, this truck is a fantastic option. Yes, there are some heavy costs to owning a diesel truck, and some scheduled maintenance timings that aren't flexible or ignorable, but if you take care of this truck, it's gonna keep pushing and hauling for mile after mile after mile!

Solid reliable truck

I’ve owned my 2003 F-250 since I bought it new. Ordered it and got exactly what I wanted. Used it to haul horse trailer and for general use and it’s been the best vehicle I’ve ever had. Pushing 254,000 miles now on the 5.0L gas engine and still runs great, looks great.

My 2003 F 250 4 x 4

I purchased mine new from the dealer in 2003. It has the 6.0 Powerstroke and it has been bulletproof. Had one fuel leak but that was it. All stock except for tires and wheels. I have the oil changed ever 10K or so, put it a new air filter and she just goes and goes. As long as the 6.0 Powerstroke is left stock they seem to go forever.

Great Truck! Always Reliable

I bought my truck used in 2003 with 17,000 miles on it. It is a 7.3 Powerstroke, not the dreaded 6.0. The interior is large and there is loads of room. It will pull a load and you won't feel like it's there. I like it so much I have refused to buy a new truck because I know that nothing will match the reliability and performance that I get with mine, even after 17 years.

6.0 Diesel must be modified

There are lots of great things about the F250, but for the 6.0 diesel, some engine mods are needed to make it a true bullet proof engine. Only buy one if the exhaust recirc system has been deleted and the heads have been studded.

Most reliable car I've owned.

This car meet all my requirements and expectations of a super duty truck. The truck has great towing capabilities and excellent room for a family of six. I would recommend this vehicle to any one who needs a reliable towing and family car.
