2012 Focus Titanium

Very comfortable nicely finished car, does not achieve advertised mileage ratings. The my Ford Touch systems is more of nuisance than a convenience, car has been in the shop for repairs several times and only has 7K on the odometer.

3rd Focus now in household

Prior to this car we have two other 2007 Focus. One is the ZX3 and the other is the typical sedan. Both have been great cars and is what my kids drive. I used to drive the ZX3 until my son took it to California. Just bought the new 2012 Hatchback. I have to say, it drives very smooth and the speed is misleading. Unlike the 2007, this car makes 60 feel like 20 mph. I purchased the 5 speed because I like the driving experience. I also heard many complaints about the automatice. This thing shifts real nice. Took the car up to 40 in first gear on the test drive. Wouldn't go faster since the rev limiter kicked in. I believe that 0-70 time in 7 seconds. Which is fast when you compare it to the other 36mpg competition cars. Heck I was thinking of getting the VW Jetta until I noticed the 10 second 0-60 time. No thanks, "I like to go Fast!" Handling in this car is very firm, yet the ride makes you feel like you are driving a much more expensive car. This is a great improvement over the 2007. However, the 2007 does handle great it is just more jarring over the rough stuff. This car you will not even notice the rough stuff. My recomendation, get the manual until Ford fixes their issues with the automatic. The driving pleasure of slamming the gears is worth it.

Love this car

This is my second focus and I am very happy with it, MyFordTouch can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but it is a great feature. My wife has a 2011 Lexus GX460 and her cars radio doesn't have the capabilities that My Ford Touch gives me. When I went to purchase this car, I told them that I didn't want to test drive it, because I already knew that it was what I wanted. Took me awhile to get the best mileage while driving in the city. Wish that it had better mileage in the city, highway mileage is great! That is if you stay under 70 mph.

MPG! Power!

love the power, but I tend to go too fast! Going from a mini van to this size wasn't as hard as I thought!

Most Economical

I am surprised how comfortable this is on the highway. We do a lot of highway travel for business and decided to get something with good mileage. This is rated for 38 on thehighway. I am seing 31 to 32 combined highway and in town... it's incredible, a huge money saver!

Best car i owned

I Have had my 2012 ford focus hatchback for about a year, and still are in love with my car. prior to my focus I was a Honda owner of 4 cars, and thought that I would always drive a Honda for the rest of my driving career. Always was a ford critic, especially of the focus, when the new 2012 focus was introduce, I was immediately converted into a ford lover. The New Exterior is so awesome and sporty. The interior is sporty and elegant. The technology that comes with the focus, is the best.

TAP TAP THUMP

That is the sound that I hear coming out of the left, bottom speaker whenever I drive my car. Forget listening to the radio... only the right side works. Half of the time, when the other speaker isn't going 'tap tap thump'. Is it the Sync or a bigger electrical problem? I will find out Monday hopefully!

Ford Rangers all 5

awesome handling, mileage, comfort, shifting transmission, driveability. I probably missed a dozen things that I have experienced about the Focus, but the greatest compliment I can give it is: I have owned new Ford Rangers, Cadillacs, Jaguar, Sunbeam Tiger, Corvairs, Mustangs, all of which were great cars, and the Focus has started out to be in that same category of great cars. I have owned a dozen other brands, including foreign, none of which are worth mentioning.

HAs been anything, but disappointing so far.

The 2012 Focus has definitely blown its 2011 model-year out of the ballpark. I would not change a thing on the exterior. There are many pleasant surprises in my Focus. It is surprisingly well-put-together. The ride is comfortable, and suspension does a great job of absorbing the imperfections on the road. It is soft but agile. It adds fun the the sharp turns, especially if you have the 17'' wheels, which allow it to stick to the pavement. Prior to my Focus, I test drove the 2012 Civic sedan, 2011 Mazda 3 Hatch 2.5, 2012 Corolla and 2012 Sentra. Civic handled like a bowl of pudding when it came to cornering and maintaining stability on the exit ramps. Acceleration also could use some spicing up. Mazda 3 was stylish, good take-off, but not so good for my kidneys. Suspension too stiff. Corolla, well it was just a corolla, a solid economy car, with rather understated interior, and average experience overall. Great car for... (don't want to offend anyone. One word for 2012 Sentra - "Plain". One word for Focus - Wow! However, one drawback of the 2012 Focus is its rear seating space. Not too comfy when you have four adults in the vehicle. (Ford, consider adding 2 inches for the rear passengers, especially in the Hatchback!). When it come to fuel consumption, so far, I am averaging 34.5MPG, with roughly 50/50 split between city and highway. got 3,500 miles on it. I was a big Ford critic, but this little car made me rethink my point of view on American Auto Manufacturing potentials. P.S. if you want a good balance of toys and convenience, go for the SEL packing
