Great car glad i bought it

I have had my focus hatchback now for about 2 weeks and I love it. I have been researching the 2012 focus ever since i saw the new design becuase for some reason i love hatchback cars. The ford rides smooth but as another poster said in the first few hundred miles the transmission does shift rather rough. I have an SE w/ sinc and sirius radio and the sound quality is great even with the driver side window all the way down while doing 50+. The only complaint I have about the car at the moment is that when the window is down, I can hear a slight whistle that I believe comes from the side mirror as the wind passes over it and into the car.

Fantastic car in the compact segment

I was in the market for a compact fuel-efficient car during Mid March 2011. I test drove 2011 and almost ready to buy 2011 Ford Focus as they were offering some 2000 cash back bonus. But before signing on the contract, I drove the new 2012 Ford Focus... gosh... no way comparable to their 2011 Ford Focus. 2012 Focus has improved in every department. Style, design, performance and handling. I was blown away by the handling on the curves and turns. I could only compare its handling to Subaru Outback which comes with AWD standard. The interior looked terrific with all quality materials used. I bought the SEL Sedan model with MFT and the Sony 10 Speaker Audio. The audio system is amazing and worth every penny I spent on that upgrade. I liked the styling on the Sedan than Hatchback. The car looked very sporty and ride is very smooth. However, I felt that the transmission is not as smooth as I expected it to be for the first 400 miles. I felt that the car jumps as you accelerate as it was shifting gears - like the manual transmission. But, after 500 miles on the odometer, I don't see that bahaviour. It disappeared and the transmission is very smooth that I don't even notice the gears shifting as I accelerate. I took it to the dealer just in case and the technician had adviced me that the computer in the car is learns your driving patterns and tunes the transmission as you drive the vehicle, which I think is what had happened. Now, I don't see any problem with the transmission at all. So, if anybody is experiencing this problem, don't get panic. Give it a 500 to 700 miles before you run into any conclusions. I gave 4 stars for value for money because I felt it probably could have little larger leg room for the back seats. Overall, excellent vehicle and I love it. I recommend this car to anybody who is looking for a fuel-efficient compact car compared to any competetive vehicle in the market today.

Get out and drive one!

We recently took the entire family out to test drive this new Focus and left completely amazed. When we arrived at the dealership the salesman said there were only 2 in stock and they were not available for sale as they were demo cars. Apparently these cars are on some waiting list. Anyway, the car was finally brought out to us and I could not believe how quiet the engine was. That was unbelievable for a small car. Once we were inside, everything about this car was quality. The way the doors close, the quality of the knobs and soft touch dash, the way the automatic shifter slid into drive, etc. etc. I seriously had to keep looking down at the Ford emblem to remind myself I wasn't in a BMW because that's what it felt like. Light years ahead of anything in its class..but the Cruze and Elantra come in second. All in all an amzing car. As soon as our test drive was over, someone else immediately was inside waiting for a test drive. We left truly impressed! Great job Ford!

One of the Sportiest Cars for 2012

Just purchased a Candy Apple Red 2012 Ford Focus SE Sedan and am really pleased with it. I think it will be the best Focus car to date. What a fun driving car, I just love it. I can't think of a single item I am not pleased with. After driving my 2006 Ford F-350 Super Duty Diesel I may forget where the gas stations are. lol Now I am all set. I'll head to Florida this fall with my F-350 pulling my 35' fifth wheel with my new Ford Focus in tow behind. A HAPPY FORD Owner. Ford Rocks. Mary

Dependable and slick looking too

Past models of the Ford Focus never impressed me. The 2012 Focus finally brings a better look and feel.
