Focus SE 2005
I am still driving my 2005 Focus. The only problem I've had with it is Tires. I have gone through a lot of them and the alignments. I recently test drove a 2014. It already had new tires on it and PULLED badly to the right.

Focus Vs. Civic
I drove my 2005 Honda Civic for 10 years and more than 200,000 miles, so it was difficult for me to even consider switching brands. I spent two weeks and multiple test drives -- but ultimately, it came down to a new 2014 Ford Focus and a new 2014 Honda Civic. The more I drove the Focus, them more I was sold on it. Here are the four factors that made me side with Ford's Focus: 1.) More giddy-up! The Focus took on the steepest hills effortlessly, while the heavier Civic struggled with modest inclines. The 2.0 L in the Focus is tough -- and I'm getting between 39-41 mpg on the highway with my manual 5-speed. 2.) The sound-proofing in the Focus cabin is nice, like a luxury car. I could hear the tires on the Civic. 3.) The interior of the Focus is simply more durable and more comfortable. The seats are great for longer commutes, and the dash is "rubberized" -- a richer look than the Civic. The technology for the price is quite amazing. I like the SYNC and Ford bluetooth systems. 4.) Finally, the 16-tires and tighter suspension on the Focus makes the Ford a quieter, more comfortable ride. All this, and I spent $1,500 less for what I thought was a better car in the Focus. I appreciate Cars.com -- this site made my search much easier. Thank you.

Gas mileage is nothing close to advertised
I bought a 2013 focus hatchback titanuim with every option for 3 reasons. 1. For the fuel efficiency. 2. For the reliability. 3. For the price. It failed me for the fuel efficiency though, which was my main selling point. I wanted the 28-38 mpg it was advertised at, I drive highways 85% of the time and I baby this thing to try to get better fuel efficiency, yet it still only gets 27 mpg. The reliability has been overall pretty well, except for the transmission having issues at 20,000 miles (which is common for these cars, ford has found the issue and can fix it). And I also got the car for about $4,000 less than they usually go for because of some pretty great haggling on my part if I do say so myself (I made 2 competing car dealerships fight for my business, whatever dealership have me the best deal got my business). Other than the fuel economy being questionably low, and some minor issues with my touch screen, backup camera, and Bluetooth sync on my radio occasionally, it's a really nice car, but after I purchased this car, I discovered a competitors car with generally the same interior, slightly different looks, and very slightly less advertised fuel economy (1-2 less mpg), for slightly more money, considerably greater performance (in the turbo'd option), that I would have rather gotten, since I enjoy higher performance vehicles.

Great Value
I drive a lot for work and I bought this car because its fuel efficient yet is peppy and plenty of features. I have the SE HB with leather and its been a great little car and is fun to drive. I get the advertised some times less in Winter months but sometimes better in the Summer months. I have put 31K miles on it in just over a year and no problems.

Gas milage is wrong
My husband and I baiught this car November 8th 2014 and the gas mileage says it gets Fuel Economy City -26 - 27 mpg and IT DOES NOT. It gets 16 in the city. And it shifts like a 5 speed vehicle so you have tort it shift before gassing on it. My Ford Fiesta 2011 was better than this .

Ford Focus s Manual
I bought my Ford Focus s with the manual transmission in decemeber 2014, i've had the car for 2 months and have had it in the shop twice for repairs. The first time i took it in it was for a flat tire, it appeared that i ran over a nail only to find out Ford does not cover road hazards, howver, the manager at Macphee Ford was nice and paid for half of the cost for the replacement tire. two weeks later i started my car put the rear window de-frost on and went inside to get a bag of ice salt when my rear window imploded into my back seat. luckily and unluckily at the same time, it was a malfunction with the window and Ford covered it. Overall it is a great car very happy with service from dealer and with the performance of the car.

Awesome Car
I bought a 2014 Ford Focus SE with a sport appearance package a few weeks ago. I get really great gas mileage. Its zippy and fun to drive. It is taking me a while to get use the the dual clutch auto transmission even though I have driven manuals all my life. I would definitely recommend Asheville Ford in Asheville, NC and speak with Greg the Sales Manager.

First New Car
I bought this car about 2 weeks ago. I previously had a 2012 Dodge Avenger but was looking for something smaller and more fuel efficient. Thats what got me to buy the Focus. Mine is a SE hatchback in all black and tan on the inside. I love it its so zippy (as i got the 5 spd manual). It doesn't feel like I'm driving a boat anymore! This car sips gas slowly and refilling the tank isn't a problem either as its super cheap. Ive had it 2 weeks and got a really good deal as dealers are trying to get rid of the '14s and bring in the '15s so if you want one new I suggest you buy soon before they sell out of the previous year model. The ride is a little firmer than I'm used to and the driver seat is a little hard. But I can live with that. All in all I love my little car and since it only had 3 miles at purchase I will probably keep it for another 200 thousand miles!

very good experience
I bought this car earlier this month at Bob Bell Ford in Glen Burnie, and am very satisfied. The salesman Bruce Pugh answered all our questions about the car and about how to pay for it. He was extremely helpful and explained all our options very thoroughly. The car runs very smoothly, is very high tech (the gps map is large and easy to see) and for a small car is very comfortable. I am very pleased with the car.

Great car for the price.
I just bought my 2014 SE sedan. It is a great car. mine is the 5 speed manual. transmission is smooth and the comfort is there as well. If you can drive a 5 speed...then I would take one out for a test drive. Mine has a great Bluetooth function as well. The focus has came along way. Very improved and amazing gas mileage. take one out for a test drive....it might change your opinion on the focus....atleast it did for me. hope this helps.
