Acadia at 75 k

This is an overall "okay" vehicle but showing its age with recent transmission rebuild (wave plate defect) and prior issues with power steering and water pump, luckily all covered with special GM warranties. Got a great deal during the GM debacle of 2008-09 ("Cash for Clunkers"). Looking to get a couple more years use and then move onto to something else.

GMC Acadia Family Car

This was the perfect car for my young family. We brought them home for the hospital in this car. It was safe and large enough to pack all of the family gear (skis, dog, etc..). My number one complaint is the number of recalls. We had to go the service department a lot for recalls. Also, after about 140,000 miles we need to sell it. I wish it was like Volvos or Lexus that could be driven for 200,000 miles.

I am very pleased with the purchase of the car.

This car meets all of my needs. It has plenty of leg room and has a very comfortable ride. There is also a lot of room for children and groceries. It is a wonderful vehicle and I am very satisfied with the purchase of my Achadia.

Would Not Recommend

My 09 Acadia, has had so many mechanical? issues, all u have to do is search 09 Acadia, and I've pretty much dealt with them all. Also the interior chrome reflects some much that it is very bothersome, and blinding. ( My only complaint with the interior) The main issue is all the recalls.. and what should have been recalled.. Every problem, from a simple head light replacement is extremely unnecessarily, difficult to get to, and perform. Therefore you are guaranteed a big Bill for what should have been fairly simple. Just do your research, and you will see.

Great Vehicle with one reservation

I bought my Acadia used in 2011. This is one of the nicest riding vehicles I have owned. It is excellent for transporting people and even the 3rd seat is comfortable for adults. I have had one issue which is bothersome. Occasionally when I have to accelerate quickly (changing lanes or passing) it doesn't respond for a few seconds and then it "bucks". I took it into the dealership and they could find nothing wrong with it. I read that the owner of a 2012 had the same problem so i think this is something GMC should address.

Will never buy GM car again!

I've had my Acadia for 4 yrs., and while I like the roominess and styling of the car, mechanically it is a disappointment. The first month I had the car, my coils went out, which needed replacing. Eventually, they all needed to be replaced. The check engine light is always on. No sooner will it get fixed, and sometimes later in the day it's back on. It's not a glitch, either. It is in the shop as I write for a timing chain, which thankfully was covered under the warranty. Otherwise it's an expensive job. It will take a couple of days to get fixed, so need a loaner car. I cannot wait to get rid of it and get a more reliable vehicle.
