I traded my Toyota 4Runner for a 2024 Sierra 1500 Duramax
I traded my Toyota 4Runner for a 2024 Sierra 1500 Duramax 3.0 because I wanted better towing capabilities for our frequent cross-country trips. My check engine light came on within the first month, right before I was supposed to head out on a long trip. The local dealer reset it but couldn’t find a problem. The same thing happened a couple of months later with the same result. Then about a month later, again right before I was supposed to take a long trip, the light came back on and I got a message that the acceleration had been limited. This time the dealer (a different one) said it’s a charge air pump and that one has been ordered. I was advised to not drive long distances until the repair was completed. So I changed my travel plans and waited for the new part. A week later I was told that the part is back ordered with no ETA. I called GMC and they told me that they would look into it. After another week and a couple more calls GMC elevated the problem to expedited status. From what I can tell all this means is that it’s been assigned to another person who tracks it and calls me once a week to tell that nothing has changed. So the truck is still sitting at the dealership and has been basically unusable for over a month. The bottom line is that the truck has been unusable for a total of 6 weeks and counting since I bought it 10 months ago and has caused me to cancel two trips. I’ve told GMC that I’d like a buyback but they claim that this particular problem doesn’t rise to those standards. I understand that in a way because the problem and repair seem rather simple, except that GMC can’t get the xxxx part. At this point I have no confidence in the truck and plan to trade it as soon as possible.

BEWARE: My 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate lost all power
BEWARE: My 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate lost all power — no steering, no brakes — while I was driving. This known engine defect is under active recall and could have resulted in a fatal accident. Despite the severity, Classic Buick GMC Arlington and GM refused a buyback and offered no amicable solution. Replacement engines have at least a 1-month wait, and even those are showing issues. I paid nearly $90K for a vehicle that is now unsafe and severely depreciated. GM is not standing behind its brand, and this dealership failed to do right by the customer.

Looked at more expensive truck with less options, bought
Looked at more expensive truck with less options, bought the GMC SIERRA AT4 Turbo Diesel 6. I now only put fuel im once a month. And long distance trips are easier due to better fuel economy. One of my best investments ever.

Surprised myself and bought a GMC
I needed a new pickup and while I wanted a Ford F150 I could not find one set up how I wanted. When I did the Ford dealers didn't want to give what I felt my trade in was worth. I got what I wanted and got a great deal on a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation. It is even set up better than the F150's I was looking for and at a better price. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Awesome trucks
I've only had this truck for a month and a half and have had no issues. The interior is just plain awesome. I really like the multi function tailgate on this truck, it's very handy loading stuff into the box and the step really helps when you want to climb into the bed. I really like the ride height on the new trucks better than the 2015 Denali I traded in to get this one.
